Nice battle guys! I'll make this pretty short since others have already mentioned what I was going to say.

I see some definite improvement in yours, Seeker.  The lack of backgrounds in some pages  caused it to be a bit confusing at times though :0 buuut it was pretty good, much better!

JAZ, Nice first battle from you, as other have mentioned the problems with the perspective were kind of distracting at times, but this comic looked pretty sweet. I think the highlights on the characters were a bit too strong though.

I hope to see more from you two soon :D

I hear what you guys are saying about my perspective being a little wonky. It's kinda hard to notice at the time that I'm drawing it, but now I can see it. I'll definitely try and work on it for my next comic. 8)

Kuro- It’s really hard to approximate how large I’ll need the word balloon to be, even when I try to pencil the words in beforehand. Maybe next time I’ll just do the balloons as well as the text in photoshop.

Squid- I’m on dial up. I didn’t feel like my first comic crashing my computer lol. It didn’t take as long as I thought it would to upload, so next time the file sizes can be bigger and prettier.

jaz: I liked your layouts, the one on page 5 was especially cute. They all really seemed to work with the quirky cartoon style you've got.
The story is nothing new... but I think your dialogue and Tekka's cuteness made it work out okay.
The pages are really really grainy, though.... try saving at a higher quality.

seeker: I didn't care for the art... felt empty and lifeless. try loosening up a little.

seeker - this one is already better than your last as your character isn't using his hand to pleasure any pets in it. so that's a plus. but seriously nice black usage. it seemed a little unnecessary in parts but it was nice. you had a lot of going right to left in this & naturally when reading our eyes go left to right, so you're working against the flow in spots that don't call for it. at one point there's a 180 even when there's suddenly a bomb dropping on your character. 180's are bad. also work on your perspective. in the high angle shot looking down at him it was hard to make out where & what he was standing on. and usually i'm not one to really pick at writing, but this didn't work for me in that regard. things stood out. reindeer pause? reindeer don't have paws, if that's what you meant. hooves maybe? the word assassinate is usually for precise kills & rreally tekka was just wantonly throwing bombs off buildings so that didn't work either. and from going to rubbing her face in a roof to asking about seeing the photo was an odd switch of demeanor.

jaz - good first showing. your expressions translate well & it was a fun read. there are some real generic perspective-for-the-sake of it backgrounds in your side. remember, characters are part of the the environment; backgrounds aren't just something to fill space behind them. and it's just a pet peeve of mine but try & keep all of your text the same size unless someone's whispering or shouting. it seemed to grow & shrink the slightest bit throughout. being more consistent in that regard really helps make for a cleaner more concise comic.

Hey Seek, I loved the clean black and white. Very tight line work again nice and clean, but a little more detail would not have hurt.
Yo Jazz, I loved your bold colors. The visual contrast between your comics was a joy. I'm diggin' both of these characters. Unfortunately I'm to new to vote or should I say fortunately because you guys both did fantastic!

Not bad you two.

Seeker: Not bad, I think this was a step up from your last battle, but I can't say I was too impressed with the story honestly, it's nothing new really, but I like how you're not making your character totally invincible when it comes to fighting. I would like to see how you handle a story without the idea that Sebastian just has to fight another person's character, just to mix things up and challenge yourself with the story. The art I think is good, but could be a lot better, mainly in details. Sprawling cities do have lots of things ya know, even on the rooftops, and if Tekka is tossing bombs everywhere, wouldn't there be some destruction and burning buildings? Well, anyway, not bad, but needs a lot more work.

Jaz: Pretty sweet first entry from ya. Not entirely fond of your perspective on the first page as it really makes Sebastian look bigger than he should be, always remember that perspective applies to everything in the background, foreground, and people. But I did like how well detailed you made everything and I really think you should keep that up. Story was OK, it didn't seem like anything new to me, but I did enjoy how you are developing these character's personality so far and Tekka seems like a lovable scamp. Just keep working on your perspective and I think you'll go far.

Vote goes to Jaz.

I admit that I liked both entries.

Seekeroftwilight-I would dare to say that I think you have improved, that or that you've chosen a consistent style that I think worked well for this comic.  My only chief complaint is that I feel like there is still a lot of negative space and yet I'm not sure how you could add more without cluttering it.  Perhaps the backgrounds could use some textures here and there.  And also on page 7, your character seems a little short in comparison to the rest of the comic.  Eitherwise I think it was pretty good and your best so far.

Tekka- This was also pretty fun and you handled Sebastian's depiction pretty well.  I liked Tekka's expressions and the only thing I can make of note is that the length of your limbs are somewhat inconsistent at times.  The best example is the first panel on the last page in which her arm looks a little awkward.  The second panel as an instance of perspective is fine I believe, but yeah.

Great job the both of you.

you should be fine, Hiemie and Phill were both on dial up for a long time and got their stuff in okay. It can just take a while. If you have any problems please post in the battle comments so I'll know. Take a look at http://entervoid.com/board/index.php?topic=10641.0
