Sorry about the late reply!  My internet was down at home.  I'm gonna be there the whole weekend.  Definitely gotta catch the Immonens today and get their new book.  Plus see a bunch of artists I didn't even see yesterday including the Blacksad dude!  Side note, I am 80% sure Shia Lebouf is down here because I swore I saw him at the hotel yesterday lol.

Prolly won't be room enough but I'll throw my hat in with El Cien. http://entervoid.com/index.php?action=character;id=456

If 20 people volunteered, I don't think it'd be unfair.  No one knows who they are fighting next and there is a week long break for voting.  Besides, making comic battles is supposed to be the fun part I guess.  Could give the newbies something more to do than just 4 battles?  I dunno.  Just thinking of a way all of those dudes can play.  I got the idea after looking at a 42 person tournament bracket.

I dunno why you just don't go with 42?  Sure, not everyone starts at the same time but it actually solves the problems of people hesitant because of the timing because it gives them 3 weeks grace period so they don't have to pull outthatswhatshesaid.  Just choose 20 people that want to battle at the start.

Not really seeing any talk on it but anyone else use Comixology?  I've been using it since last september and have been absolutely loving it.  Don't get me wrong I love having physical floppies in my hand but this site is just AMAZING.  I buy so much each week and try so much stuff I normally wouldn't have access to from my LCS seeing as they have to stock the stuff that sales or you have to preorder or request indie books.  With Comixology I can just roll out of bed on wednesday and choose pretty much all the new comics available same day as print and the tons of back issues they upload all the time.  I still buy physical tpbs and GNs I really want but when it comes to week to week comics, I'm straight up digital.  I see they have a different site with all the different french comics companies and some english translations out there too.  I hope that continues to grow and include more companies and countries. http://www.izneo.com/

After years of forgetting to do it, I finally bought Blacksad. It's a gorgeous book and is very entertaining. Reading it also made me glad that I've chosen to use animal people in my stories. Sure, furries have bastardized them for the most part, but stuff like Blacksad shows how really awesome they can be when done well.

I'm so glad Darkhorse is going to release the fourth book in July!  Can't wait!

I'm reading...

Just arrived in the mail today, I'm like halfway through it and it's so much of an improvement over the first in every way.  It was so worth the wait in my eyes.  Crazy too since if you've followed Reyyy's style changes over the years, you can see them in this book since it took forever to come out.  But it's not like a gradual change, you can tell he went back and redid or shuffled parts or whatever.  It's not jarring because it does fit with the tone of the chapters.  One thing I really dig is the anime bumper style chapter breaks.  They come just like commercial breaks would.

That zombie's broke-footed stance is really appealing.  Adds alot to that image.  Also digging Esme and the Lama.

Never played Skyrim but that character looks sweet.  And Yush, Valpuri should claw her way back from the afterlife if another tourney comes around!

Love how you draw JC's face in that last image.  Also echoing the comments about the great lettering.

Also I enjoyed the boobies on your blog.

A few sketch pagies...

I forget what this guy's deal was.

The old italian guy at the bottom interests me.  I want to do more stuff with him.

This was supposed to be a frog ninja but then I realized that's just Kappa with clothes on and no dreads.  Maybe it's his cousin, Nappa?

It's funny because I've been seriously considering doing one of those artist tribute tumblrs for one of my favorite artists because of the very little internet presence he has has and the amount of his work I have.  But yeah I luck across most of these folks, there are some sites/people I can always count on to have some awesome shit and taste and then I just look through their friends/favorites/links/whatevers.  Something awesome always turns up.  and then I annoy folks in the jamzchat with links to them. lol

Also, dudes!!! C'mon Post some cool stuff for me to oogle!!!!

Shohei Otomo is the son of Katsuhiro Otomo and he is a damn fine artist in his own right.  Works in ballpoint pen and ink mostly.

Interview and videos of him drawing: http://5magazine.wordpress.com/2011/03/05/shohei-otomos-pop-manga/
“The ink isn’t reflective like the lead tracing of pencils, and best of all it’s cheap! An 80 Yen ballpoint pen lasts me 10 drawings.”

@johny,..shit ,..can't even do that with guidelines haha..so you know if he has a book out or anything ?? thanks for the share !

I know he has atleast 2 artbooks out.  A 2007 Sketch collection, which is 1000 pages!!!!  And a 2011 one which is over 600 pages!!  And comes with a custom sketch cover.  All I could find on how to get them is the 2011 book which is 60 bucks but since it's some chinese place the shipping costs more than the damn book making it 140 bucks american.  There is talk of a french release in 2012 though which might be easier to obtain and lighter on the wallet tho.

woooooooooooooow.  I completely missed the boat on this one.  If it's still possible I'd love to be in group 6 with Mr. Kick: http://entervoid.com/character.php?id=299

I couldn't wait for the Blue-Ray release so I downloaded Redline...and I do not regret it!!!  Freaking awesome movie!  I hope the Blue-ray comes with a dub so I can oogle the visuals even more!  I mean I have to watch it again right now just so I can fully take in all that was going on on-screen.  Loved all the Red Racers and I like that they each got some back story unlike Speed Racer where you see these cool looking characters just come and go.  Super Princess Supergrass and the Boin Boin girls need a spinoff!

But that doesn't mean that we can't or shouldn't have fun too.
Couple of fun movie reconmendations;

Reign of Assassins

now granted I have had a serious crush on Michelle Kahn/Yeoh since the early 90's when I saw her in Heroic Trio and SuperCop...so I tend to be overly thrilled with any of her performances......but this is a pretty damn good movie.....and for a kungfu movie actually has a semi-decent script

and for stupid 90's HK film fun do check out Heroic Trio if only to see how absolutley spunky sexy cute Maggie Cheung was instead of just how smoky sexy she is now.
Heroic Trio

Heh, Heroic Trio sparked my film crush on Michelle Yeoh too.

Monsters was pretty cool indeed, expected nothing tho ,but the point of view was somehow refreshing !

SP i have seen it ,liked so,so...won't spoil anything ,but if your a gamer or anime fan,you probally will like the sequences of action probally

just watched saw The Devil'' awesome,Korean vengeance film,of course there is nothing new to it ,but the cat and mouse play in the film kept my attention tho through the entire film

Seems like I've been watching a million Korean revenge movies lately.  And they are all pretty damn good!  I love how Korean movies portray fight scenes with them being sweet standard MA fights and then turn into real life-like scuffles.  Though Koreans take the new spot for being able to take damage and continue on in a movie.  Or atleast on the same level as that Boss guy from Chocolate(If you seen the movie you know who I'm talking about!)
