O they're really awesome looking, do you have any plans for the intro comic currently?

After some recent incidents Harlow has decided to reach out Void's alien community and get an assistant that can both help him with inventions and help if things ever get rough. Harlow found one and his name is Andrew and Harlow gave him some enhanced arms to help deal with any sticky situations.

Harlow also made to directly address the issue of his habit of breaking into places with Arena to make sure everything was all taken care of before the election

Here's Catador rocking the suit, which is something he would legitimately wear to a Christmas party.

Harlow is fresh face in void and the political landscape. Having already proved to be a productive member of society repurposing an dead abandoned factory to make his own inventions as well as providing prosthetics of a new caliber he seeks to do more for Void.

You're doing a good amount of work pretty fast which is awesome. some more quick advice I would say is for the word bubbles.
get a font from this site: http://www.blambot.com/fonts_dialogue.shtml or another one like it. The default fonts don't look good in comics and will distract the reader. also you should add a black border to all your dialogue bubbles to more easily separate them from the images.
For more detailed information on how to level up your bubbles here's a great forum post on them. http://entervoid.com/index.php?topic=12907.0
good luck and I look forward to seeing more progress.

Ok thats cool, well here's what i have so far. I think its going preety well but this is a foriegn experience but i think itll run more smoothly the more I do.

What pointers do you guys have on streamlining the coloring process?
So as someone who needed to follow the advice this year I will tell you a couple things I have been told.
-I'm not sure what size and resolution you are working at but it looks like it's too small. With comic files you will want a bigger file size than the completed version you show. You want at least a 300 DPI resolution and a good size to start with is 2500 px wide by 3500 px tall. You can save a duplicate at a smaller size and that would be the one you submit (you will want 1000 px width for the one you want to submit). This will make it look much smoother and give you way more leeway to work with since your colors don't fit in the lines all the time.
           - Working at the bigger size allowed you to work with bigger brushes and make your lines look smoother and less pixalated. also since you have a tablet make sure your pen pressure is on and you're using a brush that has pen pressure since line variation is important as well. Generally for line art you will want a 5 px brush when working at the size i mentioned before.
-You need to use multiple layers for the line art and colors and panel frames. Panel frames on top layer, line art below that and then Color layer below that. All your line art should be the same color and you shouldn't worry about lineless styles or colored line art at this point.
-Once you have your line art put your coloring layer below it so you don't have to worry about covering the lines and it gives you more leeway to not have to worry about white spots.

There are tons of tutorials on youtube as well and i would highly recommend looking up some of those since those are from people who didn't learn coloring literally this year. There are some tutorials in the forums but they have a couple broken links. If you want screenshot steps I can do that though it would be easiest through the discord. https://discord.gg/xJRd7Q I would also say most everyone else on the site is a better coloerer than me but i just learned this year so maybe saying the stuff people walked me through could help you.

Help / Re: Process help
« on: Nov 05, 2018, 02:31 PM »
Good luck on doing your intro if you haven’t already you can make an incubator thread, on top of that posting your progress in the art chat on the void discord is good for getting quick advice since people are more active on there.

Help / Re: Process help
« on: Nov 05, 2018, 01:42 PM »
Hi, my first question would be what type of printer and scanner do you have? Or are you also looking to get those as well to help your process? In terms of that process pocketmouse has done similar stuff in that she pencils it then rearranged the panels digitally and then inks traditionally, so I would recommend asking her here or on discord for more details and advice for this process.
In terms of page size one of the options clip studio has when making a new file is to make it going by page size, this option I find generally under the comic section when making a new file but I believe there is a way to choose the size of a file by preset pages. Also if your printing it your DPI needs to be at least 300 if not 600.

Garland Steelestring

Garland was exiled from Opalhaven many years ago after breaking the rule of creating beings with artificial intelligence. During his exile he has made a living laying low in Void’s quiet cleaners, the Bureau of Disposal and Mortuary. There he has slowly climbed the corporate ladder and now has a comfortable position as a Chief of Staff, well liked by the directors he has this position pretty much for life. This leaves him in charge of the morgue for all those who die in the various death tournaments void hosts. He does his job well and leads a quiet life having a secretive life and not spending time in public places. However he will occasionally feel compelled to “help” some of the unfortunate souls who died in these tournaments. Combining his knowledge of automatons and combining it with the knowledge of various magic he “helps” by giving them a new life in the Dollhouse, which is his secluded mansion on the outskirts of Void.

If you have a dead meta character you want to have a terrible after-death experience feel free to have Garland be the one that does that by turning them into an automaton doll.

day 5

Day 6 my worst by far but i don't really feel bad about it, i kind of am curious if somehow my quality declines worse than this for an inktober i wanna see what it would look like. Like i'm more interested in how bad my inktober drawings will get than the best one i do whatever that may be.

I'll set the bar low for inktober i'm just doing shitty work doodles and spending at most 30 minutes on mine without preliminary sketches.

I think i will just try to set aside 30 minutes for an ink drawing a day since i have collabs and other stuff i should be doing, with some of them being sketches done at work but i should try for it.

THE INCUBATOR / Re: SilverBlaze's Incubation pod
« on: Sep 14, 2018, 08:54 PM »
Just wondering how this sounds, if there's anything I can make sound better.
Since page 3 is currently the page that's not yet been re-sketched, there's chance to design it much better. The current script that's posted here is already the redesigned page script, so it's generally what I'm looking for. I just want to know if it can be improved in some way.

Spoiler: ShowHide

PAGE [3] (Pichi's room) (resketch page, dialogue needs work)
  • Panel 1 (Pichi punches the wall)
    • Pichi: “Bitch!”

  • Panel 2 (Cat Butler hands Pichi her coat)
    • Pichi: “She’s a fool for being so complacent.”

  • Panel 3+4 (Pichi puts on her coat and stops in front of the door)
    • Pichi: “Our numbers are declining. Our resources are low.”
       - “I can not trust her to make the right choices anymore.”

  • Panel 5 (Pichi turns her head)
    • Pichi: “If I don’t leave now, everything will be lost.”
       - “Please take care of mother.”
    • Cat Butler: “Of course Ma’am.”

  • Panel 6+7+8 ({Vertical pannels} camera pans from in front of Pichi, over her head as she looks up to the sky and leads to the final page angle)
    • Pichi: (thought) “She wants everything to stay the same…”
       - “The world does not listen to wants…”
       - “But... maybe a wish…”

See previous pages for context.

All I could say is maybe a couple of those panels could be combined in terms of dialogue like panels 3+ 4 could be one panel of a dynamic shot of her putting on a coat as she walks out also separating the final 3 panels make the dialogue sound awkward just think of those taking the same time as the time between other panels and speaking it with that time gap sounds a tiny bit weird. But honestly that's a bit pedantic and there are no crippling story issues you need to worry about, Its a good cohesive story and we get to see the characters motivation for why they end up at void. However overall I will say the story is the least important part of the intro, so long as your panels are organized right and the font you are using is readable and bubbles decent you should be set. The intro is mainly a showcase of all the technical skills that you can consistently draw a character and backgrounds, I think you may also need a more humanoid character in the intro just to show you can do humans. But I think you could just make the butler that and be set.
