CALLING ALL SCARS FOR SCARMAGEDDON II: THE SCARQUEL!

CALLING ALL SCARS FOR SCARMAGEDDON II: THE SCARQUEL!

You're seated at the precipice of greatness! The Princesses are now pretty, the Tags have been teamed, and all that stands between you and glory is . . .

SCARMAGEDDON II: THE SCARQUEL

What is this scarbulous thing?
An old idea first run by myself and Qyzex, Scarmageddon is an all-inclusive scar match single-round tournament, and yes, this means you can enter. Everyone who applies is in the tournament. Scarmageddon does not discriminate!

I’m a limp-wristed 50 lb weakling who is scared of scars!
Better not enter then! While the original had an “off-limits” scar list, this one will not. Just like you would expect death in a Speed Death Tournament, expect scars in Scarmageddon! If you enter and are unhappy with the results, its all on you!

I’m a big strong brave (wo)man who routinely chews nails, tell me more!
That’s the spirit! The tournament will begin on September 1st! To enter, simply sign up in the thread with your character of choice. The tournament will last for 5 weeks, with the drawing period ending on October 6th. So unlike the previous Prettiest Princess Tournament, this will only be one round. There will not be multiple rounds to this, so do your story right the first time!

People will be broken off into groups of 5 – 6. If there are leftovers, we will do our best to accommodate. This could potentially result in groups of 4 (but you’re tough stuff and can roll with the punches!). The losers are ultimately scarred by the winner of each group.

However! It is worth mentioning that some of our previous participants took the scars that all of the other artists gave their character. Some artists even scarred their own characters! That is completely up to your discretion (but is a ton of fun!).

Do I have to scar everything?
As all other scar matches, you must scar everyone. Prepare for a battle, you need to showcase all characters and scar all characters involved in your group.
We can't be any clearer on this, because even if it's a small scar, something needs to change from beginning to end. If you can accomplish this, you're golden! Otherwise, you're disqualified. So don't be disqualified! Be golden!

So what kind of battle is this again?
It's you against however many people is in your group. You're not working together, you're scar matching them.

Can I make a new character?
If you want to, that's entirely up to you. You have until the end of sign up to get them in the site. If you do that, then great, you're in.

And if I lose?
Then your character will be listed as 'Inactive' until you alter your design sheet to reflect the scar you gained from the winner of your bracket.

Holy Cicatrices! I can’t not join this!
Then get ready to get cut! You have until August 31st to join!

SO SIGN UP WHY DON’T YA!

1. Saburu with Johnny Sweet
2. Gregly with Gwen & Regi
3. Mintley with Cornelius
4. The BenT One with THE BEAST OF VOID *
5. Julienya with Nyasuu
6. Wolcik with Mr. Awesome
7. ColdShoulderAve with Auddie
8. Bobo with Ancelin
9. tdkgunghoul with Elle
10. - - -

*Fix your design sheet.

I hope everyone is thinking about their personal schedules carefully! Remember that if you don't finish and don't include scars for ALL of your opponents, that's a default. So think carefully because this is not a comic you want to be defaulting on haha.

GOOD LUCK, BRAVE SOULS.

Are we allowed to place that "I'd rather <insert character> didn't lose a limb but anything else is cool? Like in normal scar matches or is this more NOPE YOU GET WHAT YOU'RE GIVEN MOTHERFUCKER.

You can, but I wouldn't count on it. I'm not saying everyone involved in this production is a bastardman, but you never know. Scar matches on the site are always an honor system sort of thing. That being said, if you did join, there's nothing stopping whatever group you end up with of taking some kind of pact to not scar specific things.

Otherwise, you'll probably get what you'll get. We're not going to police this nor are we going to act as intermediates on anything. If you join up, its on you, not us. Scar matches won't be cancelled because of someone being soured over their decision to join Scarmageddon.

If you need a safer decision, then submit a new character. There is nearly a full 2 weeks until the tournament begins, plenty of time to bring in a new character to utilize for Scarmageddon.

Yeah, safe to say if you're in an event specifically for scars, you probably don't get much choice over what you get.

As luck would have it, I won't have a job in September! Which means I'll totally be free to do this. I'm going to try and get a new character in before it starts, but failing that, I'll throw Amelia and Lucas into the ring.

I'm not sure I understand the rules -

There is going to be one round, lasting 5 weeks, multiple groups (consting of 4+ characters)? Resulting into multiple winners?
If I dream of impossible, should I forget it?

Each group will have its own winner, yes.  Also, check out the last Scarmaggedon over here: http://entervoid.com/index.php?action=comic%3bid=2674

If you haven't seen it yet, it is mindbogglingly cool.

Yes. There is no title to win in Scarmageddon, so there will certainly be multiple winners.

If you get a character in time, you're more than welcome to join.

Yay! Do I have to make a "complete submission", ie. backstory and all that or can I just submit a character especially for this tournament (and then kill him off without remorse afterwards, per usual)?

You need a complete submission. If you happen to get your submission completed in time, you can enter with that character. We will be reviewing it just like any other normal submission, so if you plan on going that route make sure to do your best :)

heya; thanks for the reply; Just a quick (dumb) follow-up question: If I manage to draw and submit a character before the deadline, but, because the Void Council is busy having fancy beach-parties, driving cool sportscars and judging wet t-shirt contests (because that's what you guys do, right?) , the character is not approved before tournament deadline, is it then possible to "withdraw" the character-submission? Or am I stuck with a character on the site which I then have to retire / deathmatch?
