Character Voices

I was wondering how many people on here put a lot of thought into how their characters' voices sound. Whether they have a description for them or a voice claim for them.

For Conway I picked young Michael Crawford. Conway has a sleezy look but charisma and a nice, friendly voice helps him disarm people when he talks to them hehe. He's also got some slightly poor sound quality so when he talks, rather than sounding like someone talking in person it sounds like it's being played off an old record.

The first voice in the song.

And I think I mentioned Genie's voice claim on here before but it's Kristin Chenoweth, who is Glinda the Good Witch from the Wicked soundtrack. Genie worked in theater before becoming a hero so the singing voice works well for her but she also has a high, bubbly voice. Also why I've got a picture of her in the Good Witch dress somewhere hehe.

AH YESSSS. Little headcanony things are my favorite

For me Jiko's is Aubrey Plaza. this probably comes as little surprise but that just means its fitting right

I picture Audrey's as Bridget Hoffman, especially for her role as Belldandy in the A!MG movie.

It took me a while to really settle on an a voice for Wizzie but the closest I've ever got to (exisisting actor wise) is the character Kelly Bailey from Misfits. At least to get across the rather harshness of a rougher English accent and more northern.

Goodness, I have never thought of that.

I guess I pictured Izanami with Stephanie Sheh's voice. Specifically, her voice as Haidee from Gankutsuou. As for Gossamer, sadly I have absolutely no idea who I'd picture for her.

EDIT: Actually, now that I think about it, I think Claire Guyot's voice would suit Swan.

Claire's voice there as Ariel is what I pictured on Swan, except for the singing parts.

Milla Jovovich's normal voice is probably very close to Cecilia's: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnolRWxoyOA

In the animations of g&r Ive done before Gwen was voiced by my friend caitie, my friend Paige, and my friend hobbitastic... And regi was always voiced by my buddy Seth.

But if Gwen&Regi were ever a real cartoon I think Patrick warburton would have to be the voice of regi.
Pitched-up Paige would still be Gwen I think- http://gregly.deviantart.com/art/Gwen-and-Regi-Lip-Sync-368652549

Hard question, given that Summer isn't human.

Though, to be fair, voice of Glados (I forgot the name of an actress, shame on me) would fit her nicely.

I figured I'd get this out there just because I love thinking about character voices a lot, but this one was super clear to me.

When doing my 24 hour comic there was only one voice I could hear the entire time while making Roboface. When writing him I consistently just heard Jim Carrey the entire time, in particular Ace Ventura more than anything haha. So...

Roboface - Jim Carrey.

Shina was a bit harder since I didn't have a voice really for her in mind, but I would probably liken her voice to that a slightly higher pitched version of Ryuko's voice from the english dub of Kill La Kill.

found this topic while sipping coffee.

Krt would be Donald Reignoux, a french actor who specialise in voice acting ( he's the french version of fred from big hero 6 for exemple)  and Polterdot Sarah Silverman as Vanellope von schmeetz

I feel like Clem's voice would be like Bee's from Bee and Puppycat, but maybe a bit deeper. I dunno, I just love Bee's voice.

I finally found a voice that I feel suits my idea of how Cameron/Bartender sounds.  Avi Kaplan's (from Pentatonix) normal speaking voice is pretty much right there, just maybe a little more clear and less nasal.  I always thought he'd also be a halfway decent singer, so I find it a little funny I accidentally found a singer for it

I finally, FINALLY have a voice to fit Eighty-eight after all these years!  (Jeeze, I've only been looking for like, a decade.)

Jennifer Paz!  The voice of Lapis Lazuli.
I'm a walking talking example of "If you don't use it, you lose it."

I always felt that Johnny's voice would be Beyonce

But beyonce has to snort-laugh a lot so that takes away the grandeur

Nutty would be voiced by Tom Kenny.

Dolly would be voiced by Anais Watterson from The Amazing World of Gumball.

There.

This is so cool! I love pulling everyone's design sheets up and listening to the voice clips; gives a whole new life to the character!

When not speaking, the best I can equate to Emmelia's voice are a combination of the Silent Hill nurses, and Hudson Leick, bested noted as Callisto from Xena: Warrior Princess. Higher-pitched, sometimes airy, a whole lot of weird grunts and mostly random shrieks especially when on attack mode.

Frank on the other hand kind of has the same thing going on as Batman: Dark Knight Rises's Bane, but with an Austrian accent. Only thing I've come across that I can think of at the moment, is the male voice in Krystal System's Master and Servant cover (0:18).

As for that "Man Meat" of a dude Ozias I'm 85% sure I'm going to submit to Void next, he's real easy. Brad Pitt as Tyler Durden from Fight Club, the same character who unfolded the remainder of the Ozias's construction. Brad Pitt's voice in general works for Ozias, but Tyler's kind of strangely harmonious inflections while being incredibly energizing to listen to, are key in Ozias's portrayal.

I think a lot about random, stupid shit with my characters, and obviously get a lot of inspiration from movies.

I'm still mulling over it, but right now Merry kinda sounds like Jack McBrayer.
