In all the chaos, I didn't notice a missing page. I guess that is good and bad. This comic is sick either way.

I don't wanna read it til the missing page is uploaded but I had to peep that Arnold pyramid! The tracking device in the nostril is a nice touch, but I think dying-on-the-surface-of-mars-arnold is my favorite. Fuckin A I'm gonna go jack off to Total Recall now, that missing page better be here when I return.

Sheldon: Brilliant! man I have read this a few times and will probably read it some more later, it was that good. Love the writing ("I have filled out every form in the joint. In triplicate!! so HA!!" was excellent.) I really like your use of blacks and the direction you have taken the evolution of Charlie. Almost to where he might have totally snapped in that last page. Subtle story telling is killing it in your pages. Bleeding from the nose and tasting blood, while bringing his powers back and maybe unraveling a whole new direction in kind of frantic last straw direction for charlie. Very entertaining. Almost feel like he is pushed to the edge where he might just start a rampage through void if he makes it out of this tourney. Or maybe once he is in the clear he gets more Zen and lets it go... lol entertaining and a fun ride regardless.

I understand the upset and disapointment...just as I know that no one is as upset as Jho herself but it simply isn't a question of her deserving special consideration or treamtent.

There are NO extensions on deadlines for Death Matches, One Week Comics or Events.....no extensions for Death Matches/Events has been a rule for over eight years...and no extensions for one weekers was set up when it was introduced a few years after that.
It is written in the rules/FAQ and is also coded into the site....it is physically AND intentionally impossible for an artist to arrange otherwise for these types of matches/events

.....this is the case for EVERYONE and every Match or Event on enterVOID......we don't allow for favorites or special circumstances....EVERYONE get treated the same and follows the same rules....otherwise this game ain't fair or fun for EVERYONE...
We are all special little snowflakes but we are blowing in on the same wind.....
.....and that means even for people I consider to be a personal friend......Jho knows this very well already which is why Jho didn't ask for any special considerations....that attitude is a small part of what makes Jho such an awesome lady.

Sheldon - Glad to see some of the randomness that made Charlie so entertaining coming back. The Arnold pyramid was hilarious, though I find myself confused as to where exactly it came from? At times it was a little hard to follow what was happening (plus I hear a page is missing somewhere so that could be the issue as well), but I liked the DMV-style location and line of people waiting to fill out forms. Glad to see Charlie may come back to his abilities too in the next round!

Sad to hear about JJ's situation, however glad that JJ herself is ok. That was one scary scenario. Hopefully your computer is not dead, and you can retrieve the files to show us later. But more importantly I hope your work stuff and travel stuff was not lost.

You do an amazing job at matching up the art with the gags, even when they are quick drawings. The '15 minutes' screengrab had me rolling. Glad I wasn't the only one up until the damn near last minute . You're a strong opponent, one I'd love to go up against, but also afraid to do so...

Hahahah of course this comment showed up right after I finished writing up my huge comment. Thanks for clarifying this, man. I just wanted to point out that it's really hard to gauge people's intentions on the internet, so what appeared to be a really hostile statement from you turned out just to be an opinion, perhaps expressed a little poorly IMO, but nonetheless not meant to be offensive. And I think I can safely speak for the whole staff when I say we're a little tender right now because we've received a lot of abuse and drama, and we're just a bunch of random dudes and ladydudes trying to help out. We're not professional management or anything, so let's be honest--we don't really know what we're doing. But we're doing our best, sometimes it's rough, and we all need just a little patience to keep things from getting out of control.

I disagree. In my opinion, what's wrong with VOID at any point in its history is animosity between members.

People come to VOID for a lot of different reasons, but to me, the site has always stood out as a place for people to come when they're serious about improving as artists. And while not everyone here is going into art professionally, part of that improvement has traditionally been helping members prepare for the demands of real-world comics-making (and other stuff, too, but mainly comics). You don't get that kind of preparation if staff members make exceptions to rules just because they like someone and want to give them an extra chance at success. There's nothing wrong with it; it's just not what VOID seems to be made for, from what I can tell.

Personally, I have no problem with adjusting deadlines, switching up rules, or whatever else participants in this tournament agree to do. However, that kind of behavior can lead to some pretty serious problems, especially if the participants can't agree on what changes should be made. Enforcing rules prevents anarchy, hopefully promoting peace in the kingdom. Additionally, enforcing rules helps prepare people for the harsh and unforgiving world that they'll face when they do become professionals—of any kind! Obviously, Jho doesn't need VOID to teach her that anymore, but maybe this experience has helped her be extra careful with her professional work.

People keep bringing up this "fun" business when the rules seem too harsh. I think using that argument is just creating a straw man so you can make the staff and Council seem like heartless dictators demanding that everyone take everything seriously and never have any fun. That's not the case, and you know it. You can have all the fun you want without breaking the rules. For example, Jho's comic will be just as enjoyable to read after this event is over as it would be before. And if she's unable to draw in the next round because of this mishap, guess what? She can still make awesome comics! Hell, she could even draw a comic for the person she would have faced just to show them up, and it would still be fun to read. You don't need someone to tell you you can have fun in order to have fun. Just do it! Yes, it sucks when life throws you a curveball and something like this happens, but shit just happens. You either stop and complain or keep going and make something else happen. Something awesome.

So Synje, I guess what I'm trying to say to you personally is that I really admire your passion and your desire to get Jho a fair shot at winning this tournament, but your comment really came across as mean-spirited and unprovoked. I don't know if you've been talking to some mods who made you believe they would give you that kind of response or if you're just trying to pre-empt us. Either way, though, this doesn't have to be a war. We're all on the same team here! We'll figure this out the best we can ("we" referring to everyone, not just staff members). I've lost a lot of good friends from this site because they or someone else became hostile when there was no need.

TL; DR: We've had enough drama on this site already. Can we all take a step back, breathe a little, and work this out without animosity?

I'm fine with waiting until later in the day Monday to put the comic up, but you're not exactly doing a good job convincing the mods to help out by pointing fingers and saying wanting to stick to the rules is what is wrong with Void, Synje. Just PM the council and I'm sure it's not going to be a problem.

Ok so guys, i dunno what to tell youbut my mac is in the service center just now.
What hapened was i was riding ojek (motorbike taxi) and a car swerved by. I was using a messenger bag type of thing and was on the way to a client meeting to deliver/revisemy work also (storyboards)

The nightmare was, well, car was fucking stupid, the bike went woozy, we lost balance and went straight to hit the gutter,  i jumped to avoid .... i guess to avoid bike falling on my leg but lost balance anyway then my laptop bag fell down side first and...........
So im double gutted. The laptop didnt look that bad aside from uh intersting uh dent but it wont start at all.

Just to let you know in advance. I guess it is an ironic non honorable end - a default death. Sorry shelde. Sorry everyone. I got punished enough with the imminent bill i guess... but my fault for havjng no backup, . So sorry everyone.  

I will post the comic if the hard drive is safe, but i wont know till monday noon.... IF the drieve is safe. but i can promise u least that, or even better look. But as for now.. i accept defeat.

Sorry again guys, i enjoyed the nostalgia, void relly shaped me up into the artist i am today, and you guys are the coolest.
