@Charlie Hot damn dude! Way to really whip it out! You best bet your ass I'm findin those dragon balls and draggin your ass back ASAP. Honestly there's not a whole lot to critique here! Sure, it's unfinished, but yadda yadda who cares. It's a fun story with a fun wrap up. I feel like the only addition would maybe be a couple more calm shots like your first couple pages; cause once you start dialing it to 11, you never stop. And those calm moments would definitely make the rest feel even more awesome in comparison. But that's a note for later. Overall, sicknasty work and if you need a hand, I'm always down to clown.

@Layeyez Woo boy. That was ambitious, I'll give ya that much. I'll say I absolutely drooled over your establishing shots and closeups on the first few pages. You totally know what you're doing when it comes to nicely-polished art and I cannot wait to see more of it from you. The writing gives me the impression that you totally wrote a larger, interconnected story with a lot of moving parts and wanted to establish as much as possible in this story. The issue with that is that it's the comparatively boring stuff. Like, that's the sorta thing that you drip and drop throughout a story to really make it feel organic. Otherwise it can read as very dense telling-not-showing that's interrupting a pretty fukken awesome fight scene. Like, the general sentiment throughout the fight was "I wanna see how this fight goes, but these flashbacks keep getting in the way". Not to say that Maxx's backstory isnt interesting; it's just a lot to take in when there's so much cooler stuff happening elsewhere.

I had definitely expected less because of the apologies you both posted, but I'm pleasantly surprised. I've been a big fan of both of yall's art styles since discovering this site, and getting a double dose of them, so to speak, was pretty awesome. Rough as this time's comics may be, I can still really appreciate the story + action that went into both. I had trouble following Layeyez's story, but I think the reading the dialogue again helped me get the idea of what was going on. This was really ambitious and turned out pretty well, in my opinion, despite setbacks that life threw.
I hope you guys can come back and share your work with us! Until then, i wish the both of you good luck in whatever you guys plan for the future. <:

These were both great! Both stories had a good mix of action and story without feeling like the comic dragged on. Charlie's story was much easier to follow while Layeyez's took some time for me to catch up on what exactly was happening, however I felt it also took more risks in telling something a bit more complex. Both comics' action sequences were really well done and Layeyez's especially gave me goosebumps as the two characters rode their attacks to meet each other. In both comics the character's have really good chemistry and I'm more than a little sad to see they won't get to interact with each other for a while.

Both of you are really awesome inspirations and it's no wonder why seeing how much you both accomplish in your "rough" work. Keep on truckin'.

Its all good dude, I have told you elsewhere but I love your comic :>! Unfinished or not, I mean look at MINE lol, I still really enjoyed it. You're an awesome dude and a good friend and even though we both flubbed up here I still love it.

I am sure I will continue to draw these characters from time to time, they're a lot of fun and I think this is the first time I've ever taken anyone else's character and made them so integral to my character's social circles. Max is just a cool dude, speaks to me on that crazy Trigger vibe and he is fun to write situations for.

Your comic was definitely far more ambitious than mine, and I loved every second of it.

Fair warning, like Charlie I had several things come up, then towards the last few weeks it just became tight, And the whole poor decision to try to make more than I can handle. it's very well rushed and unedited for the most part. but it was pretty fun just a lot unfortunate crud slapping me in the face this month.

look out for cheesy plot/bad grammar/ perhaps some confusion.

Sorry Charlie, it was just a crummy month

Thanks man, I gotta clarify tho its not a case of "leaving for good" leaving. I definitely need to take a break from the site/community to really sort out my personal projects and finish them all! I realized doing this comic, I had more fun doing silly concepts and jokes when talking with Layeyes more than actually making the comic itself. In the back of my mind all I could think of was "I have almost 40 pages of Shina and Roboface that I've taken like a damn year to even get STARTED on why am I doing this?".

Thoughts like that, among a bunch of other issues which just spiraled me into a bad depression on and off for the last half year, gave me a brief moment of clarity that I need to start giving myself focus.

Anyway, my comic I uploaded is a piece of crap but its there now. I will be sure to visit at some point or another again but for now I really need to take time for myself, you guys all know where to find me anyway! Think of it akin to that time I left for two years and came back leveled up, I basically am going off to King Kai's planet to train for a bit until the day I GET BROUGHT BACK TO LIFE FROM THE DRAGON BALLS.

So yeah, I'll be back someday.

My first post was accurate, I massively shit the bed on this comic haha. Sorry to anyone who was looking forward to this (I already apologized to Layeyes 'cause I talk to him like every day, but we're in similar boats). I just don't think doing this site is for me right now so this is probably gonna be my last comic anyway for a long time here, sucks to leave it on a bit of a shitty note, but it is what it is!
