Bumping this thread, in case anyone got in.

I got a Pro badge now, so I am definitely wanting to go, but now that I have no person to share hotel with (or know anyone who lives nearby with hospitality), I'd like to know if anyone is also in my situation and would want to share a room together. The more the merrier!

not sure if mentioned before, but maybe an email subscription to fresh released comics on the site, so you don't have to check the website constantly looking for the latest comics.

I don't know what it would be called, and i don't think it's a tournament of some sort, and relies solely on the ability of someone not flaking out by deadline. This is a spinoff of the 5 minute 'comic jam' events I've gone to (one person draws a comic panel, switches off with the next person in five minutes, etc.)

Basically, all the artists who want in will sign up on a huge list, then be randomized in an order. So the first artist will draw their character of choice in a story, and then after one week, they pass that story along to the next artist, and after that week, to the next, and next, until 1) they reach the last artist in line, or 2) an artist defaults and the comic ends. No artist can discuss their future story idea with the previous artist. There is no wait time for voting; the moment the comic is released, it's the next person's turn to work on it. In the end, I guess it would all be combined to be one huge mess of a story.

It's possible to do a 1-page thing as well. This is different from a collaboration in the way that you cannot discuss your story or ideas with any of the other artists, and you have to wing it the moment you get your story. Comic improv, sorta.

spit spat, time to chat / Arquebus Dance Preorder
« on: Aug 19, 2015, 12:42 PM »
So I've been super dead this year on EnterVoid because I was working on a personal project with a friend.

There's a series we both like called Nobunagun, but the series isn't popular enough to get published in America. Although it's been recommended to publishers, the problem is the lack of fan base. We decided to make an anthology to give the fan base a little push. There were two indie zines previously made, each dedicated to two different characters from the series, published in Japan. My friend decided to take on the third one, and chose the third character, Sio Ogura, who is the main girl in the series. She and I got a bunch of artists to contribute some work for this thing, and voila!

Preorder at: http://celebistar.storenvy.com/products/14167272-sio-ogura-anthology

You can watch the series here: http://www.crunchyroll.com/nobunagun (episode 6+7 are fillers)

I'm not sure how to shrink thumbs or anything, so here is just a ton of links that have the same advertisement:

I'm sure practically all of you aren't going to be interested, but it would be super helpful if you could spread the word around and share the links if you can. Thank you!

who is coming to fanime, who has table numbers, and if you have a table number, what is it?

Haha if only I knew how.

Anyway this is a cool project, best of luck to you guys on it!!

You can help with the music :D

oh yea, I forgot to mention: don't hate on someone's style just because of the program they're using. You'll be surprised what a stick of wood with a piece of metal can do, and you'll also be surprised what MS paint could do, and you'll be surprised what Adobe Photoshop is capable of. But never hate a program over another program, that hurts peoples' feelings.

Until I can find a tool that can completely mimick the brush pens I use, I'll be sticking with my traditional mediums. I like my 'imperfect' style/methods, but when I do stuff digitally, all the mistakes stick out like a sore thumb. Likewise, I am pretty bad with color theory and can barely handle a paintbrush, but I have a vast library and experience using photoshop layers and filters to get what I want with colors. Sometimes I use markers though, but they're always tweaked digitally.
So I use a mix of both things to get what I want.

Doing stuff traditionally is much faster for me and I like getting my hands dirty, but when I need professional graphic design (like logos) , that's when I stick to my Photoshop.

Different strokes, for different folks.

Bumping up this thread-- Who is coming, who is tabling, and maybe we should all meet up for a group dinner at least one night, yes?

I'll be going on thursday, but I won't be picking up my ticket until friday morning since their ticket thing closes at 8pm and I arrive later. However, I'm going out for dinner and sleeping over at Nina's hotel.

If you have adobe photoshop, I made a simple photoshop action that converts your lineart picture into a black lineart + transparent layer (as long as the file was originally black and white and was the background layer)
download here: https://www.mediafire.com/?a18xhykyfsuqqn1
i use adobe 5.5, so not sure if older versions work. It's a HUGE timesaver!
To put into photoshop, look up the tutorial online: http://youtu.be/AZ2OR6gtl-0?t=51s

bumping thread.
Who is free this week or next week?
I'm good any day except tuesday/thursday but my recommendation is to try a weekday so it's not as busy.
