Name: Dion Clark
Gender: Female
Height: 5’ 5”
Weight: 140 lbs
Age: 27
Friends: Perseus, the young Allosaurus.
She is a young astronautic attache for the U.S. to new colonies found on Mars. She is immaturely hot-tempered and hates when things get too dramatic.
More back story:
It is the year 2035, and as Earth becomes over-populated, the plan to melt the Martian ice has has passed. Reflective material is attached to the space craft used in the first series of missions to Mars. This material amplifies the Sun’s rays, providing the heat needed to melt the ice caps. The United States begins to formulate a training program for future Mars reconnaissance. It is not the only country to take such interest.
It is the year 2358, and Mars is drowning. The ice caps not only covered poles, but existed past the soil, going down for miles. Ocean covers the surface of the only hope for humanity, safe for one collection of volcanic islands located in the formally dormant Tharsis region of Mars. What used a vast plateau of volcanic ash has blossomed into a thriving strip of life-filled oases. Yes, life. The first reports had come in two centuries ago of plant and amphibian life, cultivating and thawing out of a long, frozen, Martian slumber. The paradise was there, a refuse for the people of a crowded world. But, who would this paradise belong to?
Dion Clark, age 27, was first put into the United States Martian Corp. when she was a young teenager. Dion is now the attaché for the USMC in the debate about the Tharsis realty rights and it due to travel to Mars to evaluate the land and claim the proper amount of property for the U.S. citizens who will eventually take refuge there. Dion begins the 18 months journey to the former red planet.
It is 2498, and it is cold. Clouds of breath are the first thing Dion sees, then the edges of her capsule, then a faint glow past her capsule’s window. A rush of realization brings Dion out of her grogginess. She is here. They’ve landed. But, why is it so cold? Suspended animation capsules gradually bring their occupants back into the warmth. Something’s wrong. Dion beats through the door on the capsule and tumbles into blinding light.
The island Tharsis is brimming with more life than expected, and none of it human. What were signs of amphibious life was just the pond scum of the Tharsis ecosystem. The island is crawling with, shockingly enough, prehistoric life forms!
As Dion Clark fights to find other survivors of the Martian mission, she must use as many resources as she can to fend off the animal population of Tharsis, even if that means taming a young allosaurus!
