Nice work Arts~ and I look forward to seeing your stuff Inky!
Also, in a bit of a "why didn't I realize this earlier?" moment, I finally found out why that gap in the sternum and clavicle is rarely pronounced. There's a muscle layer covering the lot of it. Might make a whole day out of it later, but introducing the Platysma: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platysma_muscle

This thin layer from the chin to the clavicle bone near completely covers the neck muscles. While it's job is mostly just moving the jaw, it and the skin on top of it smooth out a lot of the bumps and lines in the average neck. Obviously, bodybuilders who workout those muscles have definition that shows through this, but it's presence helps explain why that gap between the sternum and clavicle connection of the Sternocleidomastoid is usually only visible in the most extreme flexes, and instead looks more like a smoothed bump.

I tried to show how that functioned on your piece Arts, hope you don't mind the Redline.

The Sternocleidomastoid is a muscle I've learned and re-learned each time I tried to it seems. But the Platysma covering it is often not shown in diagrams when you're learning these muscles. Since it'd cover them all up and be hard to see, it makes sense, but it shows I've got more to learn here too.

Time to start on the Triceps~

Day 1: Sternocleidomastoid

We're back again! Muscle May 2!
Every day a different muscle, some will be repeats from last year, others will be new. All depends on what needs a little more flexing.
Same as last time, jump in wherever you need, and I'll do my best to help you figure out how to flex those art muscles.
Don't forget to check last years entries for more examples and references.

Muscle 2: Triceps Brachii   aka Triceps

peeps have done a lot of requests and fanart, but it rarely ends up on the forums. And since I got a couple adorable pictures of Precious lately.
Precious with a Banana, From Golden

Precious and Iza in the club, From JCee

And I colored JCee's version.

(if you'd like me to take them down so you can post it yourself, let me know!)

News & Events / Re: ]ELECTION 2018
« on: Dec 22, 2018, 04:32 PM »
An update on my election bid, wanted to let people know I've got a family visit out of state I'll be attending from the 25th/26th until the 30th. As such, I'll likely be unable to draw or communicate frequently during that time. I am not dropping out, since if the election royale started as early as possible this would only be the first few days of the event and I'd likely spend them working on the story and plotlines during that time. I just wanted to point out I might not be around void/available as much during those days, in case people needed my input on something. I fully intend to compete as normal the moment I return from the trip.

Holidays and family, always getting in the way of Void Comics.

I'll also be swapping phones, but that should go smoothly and I should have discord's ap if people need to leave a message during that time.

Page 2. Time to start on the rest! Let me know if anything doesn't work in the color choice, shading, and WAY too much glow dodge. And thanks to discord chat for helping me figure out better word bubbles~

edit: I guess hosting stuff in sta.sh eitehr isn't working well or I forgot how to link right.

Working on the inks for the comic right now, felt like sharing a few WIPS.

Also, still considering the color schemes for Precious's friends, so if you've got any other ideas, or just generally questions about these girls, let me know!

Tsumi Watenabe is throwing her headband in the ring. She's lived all over void, literally top to bottom, met people from all walks of life and hopes to give void city a new sense of community by helping the city help itself.

hope that links right...

Thumbs for the first draft of the intro comic. Let me know if it reads ok and if anything needs revising!
Also, because I forgot to post it in the first part.

A shot of her with her skin layer removed. Note her hair is not invulnerable, grows back at a normal rate, and she gets SUPER PISSED when it gets burned/cut off. Not that she ends up in situations where it happens TOO often, but she has a collection of wigs just in case.

Figured I'd make an incubator for my next character after Tsumi's done, granted this was supposed to happen more than a year ago at this point. ^_^

Precious is a party girl and Voidstagram model. Spending most of her time enjoying herself at clubs and parties, and indulging her unique tastes. Living quite a high maintanence life, she's got no qualms cheating, stealing, or conning people out of their money and possessions to pay for it. Though they likely enjoyed the night before. She blows through her money way too fast though, and still has to work as a teller at a bank. While she lives a dangerous lifestyle, it only got worse when she developed Meta abilites.

Unknown to her for most of her life, Precious discovered a few years ago that she can eat anything. A power often called "matter muncher" She's developed a particular taste for precious metals, such as gold, silver, and platinum. Her motivations then grew to almost entirely focus on her appetite. She is not a glutton, as much as it would be easy for her, she's more of a gourmet. Having a nearly insatiable desire to taste rare or expensive metal objects. While primarily this constitutes gold jewelry, she also enjoys elaborate machinery such as watches, or complex electronic boards like those used to compute AI. As you can imagine, this is where most of the money she makes (steals) goes too.  Her Diet of metals however, has altered her body's physiology, making her into a being of living metals beneath her outermost skin layer. These changes have made her nigh indestructible; bullets, bats, or busses doing little more than tearing away her skin layer and pissing her off at the loss of the expensive makeup.

There's not a ton of story for her besides the setup so far. I've got ideas for her fellow immortal co-workers, and her equally self indulgent club friends, but for what the comics will probably be about, it's just fun sexy times or her conning voiders out of whatever she wants to get her lips around.

Day 31: Heart

And that's it!  Thank you again to everyone who cheered me on through this exercise~
This has been an incredible help to me, and something I certainly should have done earlier.
Oh, and If you ever need muscle/anatomy practice you can still drop it in the thread here! Though I'd recommend poking me on discord too, just in case. ^_^

Hopefully I'll see you all in this thread next year!

Day 30: Corrugator Supercilii

Muscle 31: The Heart
Of course I had to be cheesy on the last day.
I spent this whole month drawing what I love, learning about it, and somehow stuck with it every single day.
This has been an amazing experience for me, and I hope somehow it helps others as much as it's helped me.
Thank you to everyone who supported me through these exercises. (mostly on discord, which is why it's not in this thread btw)
So for tomorrow, just draw what your heart tells you.
(or an actual heart, if you really want too...)

Day 29: Soleus

Muscle 30: Corrugator supercilii  aka  the Angry Muscle  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corrugator_supercilii_muscle
Thanks again to Desi for the reccomendation!
This lil guy, hidden under your frontalis and obicularis muscle is responsible for pulling your eyebrows together when you're sad or pissed off.

Day 27: Tensor Fasciae latae

Muscle 28: Teres Major  aka That's not the lats bro.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teres_major_muscle

The teres major, partly situated under the lats, can both show up on it's own, or push the lats farther out. Occasionally giving the lats a "double bump" in the armpit area.

Day 26: Serratus Anterior

Muscle 27: Tensor fasciae latae aka I had no idea there was a muscle there until gluteus maximus day. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tensor_fasciae_latae_muscle
This little guy attaches to a important tendon that runs from your hip and the top of your butt muscle down the outside of your thighs to your knee.
very rarely significantly seen, it is the farthest "out" muscle for your hips/butt area and important for side kicks and learning how the torso and legs connect.
