red & salt- best combo of your work in this comic for sure, very unified! it was a fun read too. I really didn't have any qualms with this comic. maybe some more bgs, but overall I thought it was solid.

thresher & space- not so into it. it feels like a copout almost, to have them be in a story that the narrator doesn't even want to tell! overall the drawings look okay, but could use work.

Now for serious critique!

Red/Salt: This is what I kinda wanted to see during the tournament, artistically, and it's great that y'all delivered on that front. I saw you went with the fixed time travel theory, but didn't TL Bot end up breaking that law by now over-populating (seemingly with no end, which I have to say right here and now, is nothing short of hilarious) the place with a steady stream of copies? Oh well, time travel's always gonna have holes. All in all, charming and fun with no serious problems from my view.

Thresher/Space: I must confess this isn't my favorite of the three. The first time I read it I thought it was very funny and enjoyed it, but after reading again and some thinking about it, I realize that I would have much rather preferred some conclusion to the mind-bending world journey that you guys had created. Ultimately it feels like the conclusion to the film Big Man Japan, or South Park's 'Coon 'N Friends trilogy, and in both of those I got the same feeling, laughed and enjoyed the first time, but ultimately was not satisfied after reflection. But despite this hiccup, you guys make a great team, hope to see more adventures in the future.

Yeah this round was pretty different thematically to the previous two, really forward to hearing opinions on this round.

Dan Dr Salt and Red killed it, best combo of their efforts I've seen yet!

thresher and space-aged, yeah you made a story that was kinda inconsistent with your last few stories but hell, I still liked it lol! I thought you matched Ethenol's tone really well and it made me laugh a lot! Plus it was so pretty, I love the hues you guys have been using! I guess it did seem a bit like you rushed through the story, the ending particularly but I still have a fondness for it!
Red and dr salt, adorable as always! and this one I could follow easier ^^; love the colours and art style, and it made me laugh! (particularly the last page- I think you get unrelated bonus points from me because of the very last panel, and today I started training at a new desk job XD) Everybody did great! I loved them! I'm sad its over and I can't see more!

And man, I totally want a Glitter Puppy toy!

Glad you caught that, there was a lot of little details in the toy shop that are impossible to see in the small version. Glitter Puppy for Gameboy Color, Butt:The Game, and Kaiju Dress-up kit are on the shelves.

Dr. Red     -

Awwww shit dude, this comic is so awesome. I just love the colours and the dialogue and unnggggggh. The banter between robots, Ethanol getting gradually losing her patience, and the ridiculous drama of Tabris and Hazel. The deadpan "I think I've just been stabbed" that instantly dissolves in screaming was just the best.

I actually didn't notice the fact that the gutters were coloured a light salmon until the 3rd read, but it's a really nice effect. In general I really like how the shadows and the line work were a similar colour. It softened the really hard edged, graphic style of everything in a super pleasant way. I especially liked it when you covered a large portion of the characters in shadows, like when they're standing in front of a window. However doing that made the transition from page 5 to 6 a little jarring. You go from what's probably the most intense panels of rendering strait to something much simpler. Keeping the shadows intense for the first few panels of page 6 would've been nice, and played up the drama of that scene.

The expressions are great, and Dr.Salt does great people, but have you ever thought of smushing and changing the shape of Ethanol's glasses to heighten her expressions, like they're eyeballs?

And man, I totally want a Glitter Puppy toy!

Space-Thresher  -

Early on the rendering in your comic is pretty inconsistent; you mess around with soft gradations and transparencies and cel-shading but in the second half you settle pretty solidly on a sort of cel-shaded look. The most intense example of this is when you did a significant portion of page 4 with grey linework, which was actually p sweet. I wish you had done that in all the panels (characters and backgrounds) that featured the storybook world.

I really liked how you worked in all of Salt's and Red's characters. As I started reading I was worried that TL-bot wouldn't have a huge part in the comic, until the TL-Knight popped up. Also, Captain Pugwash is the most swashbuckling-iest little ball of fluff ever. I really like how strong and consistent Ethanol was written, and her narration made the comic really fun to read. I think every so often Ethanol could've spoke lines that sounded as though they were taken directly from the story book. Flowery, dramatic speech that you could use to draw the reader further into the fantasy. That way, you could've maintained the amazing sense of atmosphere you worked so hard to build over the course of this tournament.

Page 8 was a little confusing, but I think all I would do is put the text in the first panel at the top instead of the bottom, so the viewer is more likely to stay in the top register.

Awesome comic dude, it was like Princess Bride: The Comic. With TL-bot the sick little kid and Ethanol the curmudgeonly old grandpa!

Red and Salt: With every page, I'm loving this comic more and more! From the start, I absolutely LOVE the way you worked together for this round; Red's lines and colors on Dr. Salt's pencils look AMAZING! I love the quality of this so much, I just want to keep staring at it because it's beautiful. Your story is cute and really fun to read. Tabris and Hazel could have played a bit more of a prominent role in the story, but at least you had them in there. Thanks for the wonderful tourney; you two totally rocked it!

Thresher and Spacey: I like how you tied Ethanol's attitude into your story arc, but I feel a little bit ripped off. Your other two comics were so strong in environment and feeling, and Ethanol's narration just turned that on its head. Your quality also seems to have taken a hit, which isn't surprising because you're probably getting pretty burned out by now hahah. I have really mixed feelings about this comic, and I'm not sure what to say... I liked it, but I was hoping for something a little more like the last two rounds I guess. Still, considering the match-up, I think you did a good job of integrating your opponents (a little bit better than they did, unfortunately). I'm sad this is the last round, because I really wanted to see more from you both!
