Ailie is on a quest to find heroes to help her stop her father's plans for world domination. Ferdinand is just there for the company.
Ailie hails from one of a few Overworld Installations, which is basically an outlet of 'heaven' so to speak. Her father is the king of this installation and he wants to take over the world. Ailie, disagreeing with her Father's madness has decided to leave her kingdom to try and build an army of heroes to rise up and stop him.
