Hands Challenge

Most people struggle with hands at one point. They are extremely challenging to master. Well, the best way to learn is to practice. So get yourself together and stop drawing horrifying meat paws.

Bronze Level
Draw 20 hands in any pose.

Silver Level
Draw 40 Hands in any pose including more complex poses OR hands holding objects.

Gold Level.
Draw 60 hands in any pose including more complex poses OR hands holding objects.

And yes, I will reward you will a tiny medal if you earn it :)

Bad drawings count. The are part of the learning process. Don't be afraid to mess up. Drawing the same pose several times also counts as long as you improve from your last attempt. Remember to put in effort and good luck!

I'm totally forcing myself to do this. I got a little better with hands in the past year after pretty much avoiding them my whole life (seriously, a lot of hands-in-pockets drawings). Hopefully it'll make me a little more fearless when drawing hands.

Btw, here's a drawing I did some months back when I was practicing hands. It was based off a drawing suggestion someone gave me which was "Nightmares that bring you coffee." Soo..be careful next time you sass your barista.

Also, nice medals! I'm so trying for gold!

Here's 40 I did today, now that my comic is finally done. But I really don't think I'm grasping what I'm supposed to learn from doing these. Even so, I know it's worth doing. It just seems to feel like I'm repeating what I've learned wrong so much I can't break it.

Though that's probably just looking too hard into a single exercise.

yo taylor, props for doing so many! I wouldn't recommend doing those stylized cartoony ones though. definitely use your other hand as a model, or look up some ref pics maybe. you say like you feel you're just repeating the wrong things you've learned, and it looks like you're right about that honestly. there's a lot of hands in there that have a few (if not all) fingers of the same length, which is the biggest problem I see in these hands.
