Thank you so much for the critiques everyone! I had a bit of a time crunch on this comic (partially due to illness/ time management issues blegh) so I admit some of my colors and backgrounds were lazily and hastily drawn out. I promise to bring my A game for this next battle and possibly try fleshing out my character a bit more, too! I found your feedback all really helpful and I can't wait for the next round. See you all there!

@spidermonkey: I'm so confused. It looks like you barely even tried to make a comic. I can sense that you have so much more to give us if you really try, and we're here to help you practice and get better if you're willing to work for it. I hope you stick around and put more effort into your next comic, because I think you can do better than this, and I want to see you succeed!

@SirGuuspatoot: Your character is charming and ridiculous in the best way possible, and I your writing was pretty solid! You gave each of the characters a very clear voice, and without reading any of their bios or other such info, I feel like I know just what they're all about. I think your backgrounds could benefit from some more detail and maybe a bigger establishing shot at the beginning, but mostly I just want to see more of this cute trash-bag-head-man!

Spidermonkey: i cant understand whats going on. Its super random to the point where its like are you on drugs? I could see how your writing style could be amusing but to me everyone has the same voice if you write them all with the samw personality and it doesnt give the emotional impact you look for when reading a comic. Id like to see more regardless because i really want to know if youre capable of more. I look forward to reading what you put out later. You should challenge some oldblood here at void. We want you to learn and challenge yourself.
Sirgoos: your character is dynamic, its refreshing. I noticed you use alot of gradient green backgrounds and i see how that can be easy but it really can push up your quality to throw in some details ans mix up some interesting colors to make the scenery pop.

@spidermonkey - I say, it takes courage to upload something that might not be as good or finished as one tried to make it, if that makes sense XD Anyway, I am sorry you had problems with the comic, I wish you better luck next time and kudos for still uploading what you got!

@SirGuuspatoot - I ADORE this comic so much! It's so expressive and the poses are so great! Baggo has such a cute design, and heck, the whole thing is so cute! The pacing is also great, and the coloring and lineart reminds me of Hanna-Barbera too as citron said below! The only critique would be the same thing Q-Bit said, you gotta work a bit on the perspective and the placement of the horizon. Other than that, great work! I wish to challenge you some day!

spidermonkey: I can't critique this in good faith because I don't know if this is really what you're capable of. Next time, make sure you've got enough time to work, okay?

SirGuuspatoot: What a cute story! I really like how you portrayed the stone-skipping duo as foils, it works really well here. The only issue I have with the art is that I don't think the perspective makes sense 100% of the time. Like in page 1 panel 4, I'm not sure where the horizon is supposed to be? I think it's up above the panel, but I feel like we should be seeing Silt from a higher angle in that case. It might just be me reading it wrong, though, so keep a grain of salt handy. Looking forward to more Baggo in the future!

SPIDERMONKEY- I'm not gonna lie to you....I don't really know what to make of your comic. Though if the previous comments are any indication it sounds like you suffered some technical issues? Maybe?

SIRGUUSPATOOT- Now tha'ts an impressive page count. Not to mention full color pages. Go you! Really sweet simple concept and rather charming interaction! Its always great to see the many ways you folks find a reason to get opponents together- skipping rocks, who knew? I dunno why, but Baggo is giving me Deadpool vibes. Maybe its the mask, or the coming through the arm upon first appearance, but Baggo's got a goofiness to him right off the bat I enjoy. Granted you offered the spotlight primarily to your opponent, but here's hoping your upcoming comics will let us get to know your voider better.

@Spidermonkey Some of us newbs have had quite a bit of prior experience with comics, so don't let coming up a few pages short get you down! I'd like to go head to head sometime with river bottom and silt!
On a critical note, you might consider shrinking your font size, you could get away with smaller word balloons and more space to draw out the action (or add additional panels). You seam to be putting a lot of personality in the dialogue itself, which is great, perhaps you could break the speech bubbles up between a few more frames or pages, could give you an opportunity to expand on that personality with some more expressions and poses?

@SirGuuspatoot I was really excited to see what you would come up with and I wasn't let down! I love your approach to writing, very WB/hanna-barbera I'm more confident with critiquing dialogue and pacing but there's nothing I can personally comment on here. I really like it.

@Spidermonkey: I'm sorry you couldn't finish the full comic! Though it looks like page one was a repeat of a panel that appeared in page two, so just make sure to delete unused pages off the upload next time! It also looks like you re-used some drawings, which I understand as a time-saving tecnique, but it looks a little fuzzy in the bigger version because of how you blew up the image. If you draw them at the biggest you want first and then shrink them down they should retain their sharpness!

@SirGuuspatoot: This was a really cute story! Those who can't do teach right? ;) You have a really great animation to Baggo's movements and gesture, which doesn't always translate to the other chars you draw but is fun too look at nonetheless! Now that I've seen more of Baggo's personality he's super adorable and I can't wait to see more!

Brilliant work SirG... you have proven, it has been an honor to have you work in portraying the underlying message of those two creations. And the way you fit baggo in to your excelent interpretation of them, so humbly adorable. Heart warming work. Thanks~

@spidermonkey: I'm sorry to hear you had trouble with your comic! Just submit whatever you've got, and if it fits within the rules, it'll at least go up for voting! I hope you managed to find time to do a bit more, but if not, maybe next time!

GOT IT ALL SUBMITTED!! I stayed up all night, BUT I DID IT. This is the first comic I've digitally colored in a long time (I usually work in black and white), so I can't wait to hear everyone's feedback!! And good luck to you too, spidermonkey!! I had fun working with Riverbottom and Silt!

Entered first page but.. I'm hope to void being disqualified from my one page entry so far..perhaps more ispiration and time will blossom for me within the next seven days, but I doubt it. I feel my fisrt page might land a smirk, or even a laugh. If SirGuuspatoot lapses to upload anything, would my entry still be valid for awin? I dunno~
So, calculating my wherewithal for the next seven days; unless by some torturous wonder, this forfeit/fold card catapults them to the next level, please forgive a exuberant excitement over for-sight. Thanks for the opportunity, and good luck to all the lovelies involved.

The rickety creeking porch groaned as Riverbottom reluctantly left down the stairs. Silt was calling from the tunnel of the drainage culvert under the old dirt road that lead to the mail box half a days walk out.
The moon was full. Riverbottom loved nights like this. The pull of it's boundfull proximity made him feel less heavy. A being of more clay than water, this time of the month was truelly a blessing. And adventure awaited. For the call from the Culvert meant an adventure to just about anywhere. Silt would not call to Riverbottom were not some engaging predicament be savorably ensconsed on the grilling crucible of what Future Silt was hunting had sizzling. All Riverbottom could think about as it's sandstone feet crossed the grasses of the overgrown, and mortified lawn of the Cabin's yard, was the spice slathered, and emoleant basted mushroom, fruit, & vegetable shishkabobs so loved~
