Game of Thrones season 4! I read through all the books before the season started to I could avoid anyone being an asshole and spoiling it for me on the itnernet.

In anime I'm also checking out Mushishi season 2, The World is Still Beautiful, Captain Earth, and Ping Pong the Animation.

right now I am watching/re-watching old episodes of;

Lost in Space

which imbetween the wierdness and silliness of silverpainted sterotypes(outer space mexican banditos) actually had some good stuff....and it is also one of the very first tv shows I used to watch
...I can clearly remember creeping down into the basement rec room EARLY in the morning and clunking those two big dials on the tv so I could watch this

and for more psuedo B-movie t.v. fun;

Tales fron the Crypt

past the obvious reasons for my enjoyment there were some really great episodes in this show

I've been following Arrow, GoT, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. from episode to episode this season.
- SHIELD was a slow starter, but the [BIG PLOT TWIST] made it worth the wait. Season 2 is gonna start strong.
- Arrow was fun. Lots of twists and turns, betrayals, and bad decisions. As usual. The finale was a little anticlimactic. I'm still in for season 3. DEEP IN.
- Game of Thrones is, of course, masterful.

Now, I'm just waiting for THIS bad boy to drop...

- I yearn for redemption, but I'll settle for a breakfast sandwich.

I might still be scarred from the last attempt to bring The Flash to the small screen.

Tonight I am gonna re-watch two excellent asian films(AFTER a short drawing session)...both of which also changing or bringing somthing new to their genres( I will prolly be drawing the same ol' crap);

Rigor Mortis(Geung si)-2013
A modern ghost/monster movie set in a haunted welfare tenement building.

....and I would watch another movie with chinese vampires in it...but honestly I don't know of any other good ones....the Mr.Vampire movies were never really my cup of tea....so instead I have selected another asian film;

Dragon(stupid title-proper title 'Wu Xia')-2011

Wu Xia is a martial arts movie with a clever story and good acting...somthing we are starting to see more of in the last decade but it is still rare enough that it really deserves extra attention.....and also Donnie Yen is just terriffic...if you haven't seen him in IpMan or The MonkeyKing(I think this still hasn't hit U.S. screens yet) than you are missing out

The Monkey King

make-up and costumes are fantastic....acting and choreography is strong....but its China so computer and digital effects got a bit farther to go yet beofre I have anything positive to say

when I saw they were making a TV show based on the Coen Brothers movie "Fargo" I, being from Minnesota, said "what God would allow this" but we decided to give it a shot and hooooly shit it's good. its a dark comedy crime drama on FX and if you liked the original movie, this is exactly as good. Also it has Billy Bob Thorton as the scariest motherfucker on the planet. so, recs from me.

I will have to check out 'Fargo'....now another program....but from 2010.....I'm not sure if it aired in the States I watched with great joy and am watching it again now.... it really was an awesome show.... a lot more clever than most of the absolute garbage being put out

....the writing and the acting were great....the regular antagonist played by Chris Leavins is hilarious...his delivery and timing is ridiculous......but that isn't to say that the other regular cast members weren't funny as well.....its a shame all of them haven't really done much or given more opportunities since...but that's the Canadian Film and TV Industry for you......got any projects for young, attractive and talented people?......nope.

Lessons of Darkness (1992) directed by Werner Herzog.
A semi-documentary about the Kuwait oil field disaster told in the perspective of visiting aliens. Beautiful shots of pluming smoke, lakes of oil and disaster.

raid 2's tied for my movie of the year so far with the rover, though i'll need a rewatch on both. while the original's still more concise & better, one of the many selling points of berandal is the live action superjail riot that happens about a half hour in.

i liked ric & morty. a lot. any show that has the same lorenzo music conversation i've had in real life is a good show.

speaking of voice actors, netflix just got that i know that voice documentary. cheaply done & not enough billy west for my liking but i really dug it & mostly just always dug a lot of those people. its on youtube as well now too

I really liked Cosmopolis, but I'm  a big Cronenberg dude. After watching Animal Kingdom, I'm pretty excited to see The Rover.

I've been marathon-ing through Dexter. I'm in season 6 right now. It's got Mos Def and Edward James Olmos and Colin Hanks, and I love all dem mahfukkas. Of course no one has anything good to say about the Dexter finale so I grow ever more dreadful of it with each passing episode, I'll watch it and form my own opinions though. Also watching The Strain, which has been good so far. Aaaaaand, I saw the Ninja Turtles movie last weekend....cat playing chopsticks with chopsticks was the best and only good part for me..

My friends been on an anime binge so as of late I've been watching Sword Art Online with him while drawing. Interesting concept but eh, not my cup of tea.

I'm thinking of seeing Black Swan again soon for research, that movie freaked me out. I'm looking for scary/freaky/thriller type films that makes you sweat and feel all uncomfortable inside. Any recommendations?

Rosemary's Baby(original) +1 vote

Jacob's Ladder +1 vote

Carnival of Lost Souls

Tetsuo Iron Man 1 & 2

a previous suggestion of mine... Rigor Mortis

Martyrs

Raze (with Zoe Bell woo hoo)

Teeth

Ravenous

John Dies at the End

all of the Phantasm movies (same director as above)

and if you haven't seen it yet...why the fuck not?

You could try some other Aronofsky movies like Pi or Requiem for a Dream, dunno if you'd classify them as scary but Requiem will put you off of sweaty old dudes and ass-to-ass like nothing else.

Cult musicals always make me uncomfortable, even though the music is always great, try Repo! The Genetic Opera. Or maybe The Devil's Carnival. Or even Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

V/H/S was mentioned earlier. I recommend that one too. It's pretty damn awesome. Anyone seen 2? Is it as good as the first one? I have it queued up on netflix but I haven't had time to sit down and watch it.

Audition by Takashi Miike is worth looking into, it's foreign so I dunno how easy it is to find but it's also fairly popular so I bet you could find it on Amazon for dirt cheap.

I've seen V/H/S 2 and it is definitely better, if for the Cult one alone. Still a rotten one in there (look for the sleepover it's not effective).
Not sure if the Haunted House is 1 or 2, that's excellent.
STILL spoken about in disgraceful social circles
