As a student who has recently received their loan, I did what every sensible person should do.

Bought a shit tonne of comics.

First up is Hellboy: The Bride of Hell and Others!

It's Hellboy, 'nuf said.
It's the only thing I got today that is part of something I have read before. The rest is new and experimental for me.

Something I am looking forward to reading is Kabuki; The Alchemy. I got this purely because it looked gorgeous.

Definitely not your conventional comic. Stoked about reading it.

The third thing I got was Warren Ellis' Planetary Vol. 1, on reccomendation of the store owner.

Apparently it's about Archaeologists of Pop Culture, obtaining relics like Flash Gordon. I'm intrigued but unsure about how much I'll enjoy it.

Because I got those 3 (plus vol. 2 of Y The Last Man for my brother), they let me have an issue of Fatale by Ed Brubaker as I was interested in Incognito (where a supervillian goes into witness protection).

I quite enjoyed it, even though it felt alot like a crime novel. So I'm definitely going to go and get Icognito once I've gone through the other things I got.

And finally, a free comic about eilepsy called Absence.

It was autobiographical and quite informative, but I feel it could have been done better. If you do suffer from epilepsy (I don't) it is quite uplifting in it's overall message.

I shall let you know how I enjoyed the others.

New here? / Re: INTRODUCE YOURSELF
« on: Jan 01, 2012, 02:19 PM »
As I've finally gotten a character in over a year after I intended to I thought it was high time I introduced myself. I'm known as Inxanity on deviantart, and am yet another British person who's studying Chemistry at university.

Here's to some good times!

Oh! And happy new years guys, let it be a good 'un!

Click the page to read the rest.

I have a lot of areas to work on, but I think this is at least better then the previous one, especially dialogue wise.

Alternatively, how to rush a comic and make it look like shite.

Sorry for the lack of input! Stuff happens and you have a lot from the The Brothers to digest.

I personally don't like Faceless' nipple-high old man trousers. His concept however is unique and intriguing and I really like how original it is. We don't get much of a feel for the character of Faceless but it's an interesting concept.

I have far more to say on the brothers.
The Children of the Dragon are a curious but ill defined foe and I feel that may have been deliberate. What opposition/rule did they have over God's realm?
My main problem with the Brothers is the Sab'Or, which as a weapon seems like a no risk nuke. It can't hurt civilians, it's invulnerable to Magic and and Darkness and being broken. It's of plot device scale abilities, which can be good but without a risk it's going to feel detached.
I don't like their final form, seems too PowerRangers-ey to me.

The design is slick if a bit over muscled in some areas.
