You used to call me on my cell phone: Congrats Ernesto, and thanks for the match! It was fun to revisit the Millers :D

It seems both of these comics didn't meet their goals, but were handled in different ways.

Ernesto: It's a shame you couldn't finish, page 2 is especially aching for at least one background of some kind. Your shots were okay but I'm not sure if the 180 flip on page 3 was necessary; it seems like the comic would have been fine if the panels in that page were just backwards instead. I'm not sure if it's just my monitor, or if you used a screen tone that didn't agree with rescaling, but that weird tone effect on page 4  is more of an eyesore and doesn't really do anything for that page. Speaking of, St. Miller's pose in that page looks a bit weak; granted, bird's eye is very hard to do, but his spine shouldn't be arching upwards if he's punching Thriller through the chest, he should be twisting his weight towards his arm and leaning into the punch for emphasis. The last page also seems kind of weak. I understand that the closeup shot can be used to make this particular dialogue more personal and intimate, but it doesn't really do anything for me if St. Miller's face isn't really emoting anything, so I don't have any inclination to feel anything in that particular scene. Perhaps a simple sequence of St. Miller leaving Thriller's remains behind and walking into the distance would have given the comic better closure. Also, was there any reason you couldn't remove the blue from pages 3 and 4? The inks look finished, at the very least.

Kent: The noir narrative you took for this comic really helps to convey more in less pages. The detailed backgrounds also really help to give a flavor to this world you're building, and it's really easy to get into without even knowing these characters previously. I also appreciate the effort to make St. Miller actually emote using just glowing eyes, oftentimes a problem when utilizing characters with no face. There's some lineweight inconsistencies here and there, but I can tell those are just a product of limited time. I also feel that maybe the last page could have used a large panel to demonstrate that Dr. Fear was murdered, and perhaps stabbed/lacerated to visually connect to Mrs. Fear's murder instrument.

Overall though, I felt that Kent's comic was a more 'complete' reading with a cliffhanger ending, whereas Ernesto's comic just felt like an incomplete comic. Good job gents.

Sorry, had to take down the battle temporarily to review the pages and straighten out some confusion. Please hold.

Perhaps Miller's Judgment should get in on this action?  All Millers will be destroyed.
