...I guess this is cool stuff.  Being a jaded individual I can't help but scoff....but anyways:

Basically a 14 year old and her self published manga style comic outsold DC and Marvel.  I heard about this from a friend the other day and looked it up.

This website has a lot of interesting articles.  Kinda like Cracked only with less reverential humor.  This article in particular I found interesting:

This came up on my tumbler suggestions and it is mighty interesting from a character design approach. It is the beauty of movies that when they cast bit parts and background characters they need faces that fit the personality right away even if it is just for a line or two and then they aren't seen them ever again. The poster seems to have slowed down updates but still a good stock to choose from. So, if you need some caricature or character design study, this tumbler can help you out.

Ha!  I was lamenting how difficult it was to get interviews with webcomic artists like Kate Beaton and ask her some of the questions I've been trying to ask but she went and answered them herself:

On the colorists don't like being ignored bit, it is kind of nice being sort of in the background. If something is glaringly off in the pencils or story, you take a lot of heat. People don't usually care what the colorist does unless it's a complete train wreck. This can be nice as you have a bit more freedom, depending on your client/editor. I'd much rather not be mentioned than seen as the person that ruined random comic issue #94848 haha

So online manga drawing classes are being offered straight from Japan!  Well...almost.  They're working on the English version and that'll be up soon.  And I'm not sure what they teach exactly but it seems like they've got someone reputable...if you want to draw in Shoujo style.  But hey, this is bound to interest people right?

Oh man, I really hope giant robot pilot becomes a real occupation sometime in the near future. I'd totally become one.

This is making the internet rounds but if you've been hiding under a rock:

Star Wars voice acted out by some of the most famous and in many of their starring roles and beyond.  Very entertaining.  Bubbles from the Powerpuff Girls as Darth Vader is the best.  I hope someone splices movie clips with this dialogue soon.

I liked Batman as the narrator, Christopher Walken as R2D2 and Pinkey as the Stormtrooper  XD

not really sure whether to put this under "Cool Stuff" or "Cool Artists", since by "artist" i think most of us assume to mean "illustrator."

anyway, just discovered vivian maier's photography today, and it's stunning stuff. gorgeous shots in black and white, definitely one of those diamonds in the rough.

Here's some food for your soul.

Just watching someone doing something they love with that much passion and energy is truly inspiring and beautiful.
