Thank you for this tourney!! It was rough and Evi and I learned how to collab around a tight deadline, but winning this means a lot to us ; u ;

It was a bit rough getting around my part-time job and Evi's full time job, and the 12 hour time difference, but we made it work, and I'm glad you all felt the same way!

A recurring thing I've seen people mention is that Jiko isn't as highlighted in these comics-- part of it's because I felt Jiko's been in SO many collabs, and bbs, and fights (and will be in more!), while Capslock and Shift have only been in King of Void, I wanted to/let Evi give them more focus!

Also, about Jiko's 'reveal': I was actually tempted to put even MORE about what it is that keeps her alive, but Evi reined me in because she felt people would be thrown off a lot by just the fact it IS an alien parasite (so she made a really good call). So you'll find out more eventually -sparkles-
If you know something about a character, it seems obvious to you-- like, Jiko's regeneration has been a parasite for a REALLY long time actually, but this is the first time I've revealed it. But like Evi showed me, it's important to remember what your audience knows versus what you know.

I've KIND of hinted to it before-- her regeneration being kind of fleshy, morphing and wriggling (like in Me and Mr. Wolf) and not any sort of glowing or 'magical' immortality. But again: this is the first time I've ever said it explicitly.

And Reecer: watch John Carpenter's The Thing. That should give a good idea!

(P.S.- the table not being in the establishing shots was totally my bad ; u ; it's supposed to be one of those aquarium seating benches)

Congratulations to you all for getting here!

Julz/ Jong -
Your comics have been really amusing and have gotten quite a few laughs out of me. I've liked the goofy interactions between Pluto and Nyasuu, what an unlikely but entertaining pair!
I love all of the expressions and dynamic poses going on in this comic, I can't handle all this super sick art.
You guys have done well, thanks for the fun reads!

Thren/ Evi -
Aaaaa the colors in this comic- actually, the colors in all of your comics during this tournament have been absolutely gorgeous, everything pops and is just so pretty. I really like how you divided up the art work for this particular comic, the characters really stand out from the (gorgeous) backgrounds. Another job well done.
Thank you guys for all the awesome artwork and comics!!

JULZJONG- I mean, the comments previous really say it all. This comic was fun, dumb unexpected and entirely off the wall. If I knew nothing about TTT and just hopped into this, it'd be a rollicking romp of randomness. It harkens back very much to your first round, though unlike round 1, this kind of...just is.
You two started off with what I thought was a generally good mix of random and narrative starting out. You poked fun, you made us laugh, but behind the gags was a story I was eager to see more of. You expanded a bit, but only just round 2 which I felt was really building to something, so you'll understand my complete perplexitude upon reading this comic. I'm disappointed to be sure, but honestly, how disappointed can you be with something so well drawn, colored and otherwise just crazy? I loved Nyasuu's utter toon goofiness. I liked this frenemies vibe going on between your characters as partners and the madap antic had at the hands (or glans) of cock monsters. It wasn't until I finished reading that I stopped smirking to exclaim "Wait, didn't they have something they were going to do here? where did the story go?"

MORTEVI- I'm glad you chose a round to kind of combine your work in a way that's distinct and smart. The aquarium creatures done in Threns painterly style was simply perfect. It lended itself to this dreamy, blurry almost ghostly look that aquarium fish and creatures already have. That juxtaposed by crisp clean lines of the characters really made these pages pop- least for me and was a visual treat. I was thrown by the panels you two obviously broke up and didn't collab on- its a tad jarring to go from super sharp and clean to painterly and fluid- almost give the impression the events are blurry. Or maybe that was your intent?
It kills me that you two waited until the last round to drop such a great hook. It wasn't until it happened that I realized I was hungry for it. Now THAT is a character reveal and reaction I was hoping for. I feel of your ensemble I got to know Jiko the least, but now that I finally have the credits are already rolling. Ah well.

Team Chimalz: ..... I.... really have no idea what happened there. It was really well drawn, though. Loved the expressiveness and liveliness of the characters.

Team Mortevi: So... He was a sassy, emotive bot the whole time??? DUN DUN DUN! It's nice to end with twists other than dying.

dafuck i didn't comment that one???

ok so

Teamdumbcat: the bizarre body horror and jojo level madness just won me over. it's fun, it's dumb, it's dynamic, ther'es racisme against penis monsters... everything i wish.

Team evimort: charming colors and interesting backstory development of Shift. but Jiko's source of regeneration.... wut?
i mean , plot wise it could lead somewhere....but i fell like everytime i read the final chapter of a manga
WASn'T EXPECTING THAT ACTUALLY LOL but hey lessee what you can make of it

It makes me happy to see all these comments :3
We really didn't expect to win round 2, so we didn't have the energy for a third round and we ended up being busy alot. Eric's lines are great as usual, and he did an amazing job. I don't know about how I could have pushed my colors further, I'll have to ask for more feedback on that part. We wrote it as a team, so if this comic seems edgy, its because together we are way too edgy and have wildly different perspective on humor than most of the void crew. If this affects our score, so be it, it is our duty to know our audience as story writers, and we threw that out the window to have fun and make our comic making experience more enjoyable for ourselves, so sue us.

Evi and morts comic was beautiful and I love it, even if you wrote nyasuu like a lil bitch xD

EVI AND MORTY
Those background colors, oh man~!  It's been nice to see the marriage of you two's inking and coloring techniques in these past few comics.  And we get to see an explanation for Jiko Shi's regenerative powers, which probably takes some of that weight off her shoulders.
That said, the panels for the fight and Nyasuu's Tiga shift could have been more kinetic.  The characters felt static there.

ThrenEvi: i love this for a lot of reasons, to start with GORGEOUS AQUARIUM SETTING i love it its so pretty, wonderful light and colour, and second reason FINALLY we see Shift being the terrifying murderbot i always knew he was. (reason #1 why i dont like this: being in an aquarium and the glass cracks and breaks is a legit reoccurring nightmare ive had thanks for those feels). Theres a part of me thats almost... disappointed by finding out Jiko's regeneration is caused by a parasite but its possible i just need to see where you are going with this. it was definitely a surprise so you caught my attention there but then the attention is refocused so the impact doesnt have time to weigh in. Maybe this bombshell might have been better dropped in a comic with less characters to divide the scene between? also: where did that table come from
JongJulz: My biggest problem mostly is in that in the first two rounds you seemed to be setting up a story and then in the final round just sort of... fucked off to write about penis monsters lol. im not sayin continuity is a huge requirement but it made the finale fall a bit flat when it was completely unrelated to the arc of your last two round and left me a bit unsatisfied. BUT as usual the art was gorgeous (the, uh, penis monster was really well rendered??) and i laughed at a lot of the jokes like Pluto eating spaghetti with her hands and Nyasuu's huge movements and expressions, and capslock tied to the top of the spacecraft haha

Ooh both of these were really good! We're really in for a treat with this round :>

Julz & Chimaeric - There's something awfully dynamic about the way you guys work and it's really a delight to see it! Visually, it's exciting and there's a lot to look at. The colors only add to the vibrancy so the quality of your work is really good. Story wise, I was a little confused to suddenly be dropped in there but the interactions between Shift and Pluto were strangely cute? (maybe that's just me :'D) I do agree with Reecer6 about the racier parts of the comic, I realize that's sort of your schtick so you do you but it personally isn't my cup of tea - the story would have been fine without the penis monster and it didn't really add anything to the story nor did it affect my interpretation of it in anyway - I actually found myself asking 'but why a dick monster?' several times ;;;

Evi & Mort - I really love the way your colors pop - again, there's something about your styles that seem to compliment each other so well so it's easy on the eyes and a delight to read :) I can understand some comments saying that the poses are a little static but you seemed to have improved since the tournament started so that's one thing :) plot wise, I see that the subtle digs you've made at Shift's other personality (normal personality?) have finally come into play so that's a good pay off considering we've been seeing so much of both Caps and Shift's personalities develop over the course of the comics they've been. Also I like that there was a bit of story around Jiko too, especially in a comic where Caps and Shift tend to have dominant personalities it's nice to see a bit of focus on Jiko that isn't focused on shipping her with someone else or whatever :)

Either way, both comics are amazing and best of luck to both teams!

Jic - I can still say that the linework and expressions here are really top notch, but I'm realizing that this gross-out edgy humor is ABSOLUTELY not my thing. Like, I liked all the monsters on page 5! That was neat, I love the variety and style there, a bunch of cool designs. But the pantyshots, and the drugs, and the eldritch thing I probably should forget I ever looked at, it's all just incredibly unappealing to look at. It just makes me want to... stop reading the comic. Not in a "But I HAVE to see what happens, I'm morbidly curious" way, just a "Hopefully it gets better??? It'll stop being like this??? And either way, I really should vote on it" way.

Evrt - MAN. THIS SEA LIFE. THIS IS BEAUTIFUL SEA LIFE. IF THERE WAS A CRITERION FOR SEA LIFE, I WOULD BE GIVING YOU A 10. Unfortunately, I really felt like the rest of the art that was not sea life felt really flat. Poses were really static and no one really had the depth that I feel like this environment would excel at giving people. The story's decent, and the fact that Shift's got a scary robot face underneath his :) was incredibly shocking, but Jiko's reveal felt really hamfisted because it comes out of nowhere at the beginning and is hardly explained, and its importance is quickly dropped. Like, how does an alien parasite rebuild someone's skull? Maybe you've actually mentioned this in some other comic I haven't read, and this was more to catch Jiko up, but if it's not that, it's just not a solid or meaningful reveal.

JULES AND JONG
Your comic is visually stunning.  I like the lines, I like the goofy poses Nyasuu was contorted into, and I like that the monster is just a giant dick.
I'm not a fan of some of the humor (Weekend at Miller's definitely crossed the line with me when that came out), but I can recognize a well-timed gag when it comes around, and the levels of ridiculous this comic reached stirred up a chuckle from me.  And while it feels slightly disjointed from the direction the end of your last round was going, it's a fitting epilogue to Pluto and Nyasuu's interactions.  Very nice!

Julz/Chimaeric: I'm totally not your target audience with these kinds of  big supergag comics, but I can definitely appreciate all the work you put into writing them out.  For me it kind of felt like the gags took over everything though, nothing really happens unless it's for a comedic effect, but again, I very much know this comic wasn't written for me and doesn't fit my humor so of course take any critique from me with a grain of salt.  The major highlight for me was definitely the art, because I love to see how much the figures were pushed, and you two are totally a dream team between the inks and the colours, it's so vibrant and everything is full of life (especially Nyasuu after that dick demon was done with her tho)

Evi/Mort: I definitely echo Pyras' thoguhts that this was the most visually stunning comic you've both put out, even with the panels that switched between your styles, I was engrossed enough I only consciously made note of it once.  Looking back across the pages I saw it actually happened a lot more, and always at key points. It was almost like a 'stop and think about what's happening here' in a way that didn't interrupt the story.

Also Shift is living up to his name with that little personality slip, I wonder if this is who he really is?  Jiko's resolve also struck a great chord, she's just continuing to make strides of independence ever since she distanced herself from Greg and I love seeing her come into her own.

@ Evician -> I like how it all took place in one setting! Especially since I think that setting is particularly difficult to draw, and you even continued it into the thumbnails (holy crap that's cute). I also did like seeing the character developments for your team, and I really enjoyed that you took the TTT as an opportunity to push for that. The silhouette panels were fun! The size of your comic overall made the panels not seem like too much on the page either, even though with some of the numbers, I'd have expected it to feel cluttered. (Tell me your secrets!!)

@ Julzmaeric -> OMFG, okay i know some of the poses were wonky on purpose cause holy wow effect. I like how all the outlines were done in this one a lot, and it made me giggle a lot. Your paneling and spacing was very nice too; there was a good flow to it all!

alright alright alright

Team Spacecat: This setup is a good one visually that I enjoyed from last comic so I'm glad you did it again. My one issue with the colors is that we don't get a lot of variation in schemes, no deep oranges in the segments with the fire, everything is kinda "blue is blue, peach is peach" without getting creative with how the lighting can change the colors in the environment. Would love to see you try this with colors in the future

Team Sitcombots: Cool revelations and I think this is my favorite comic visually of your rounds, and hey the action scenes are much improved too! I would have appreciated if the table was part of the environment before it was basically pulled out of nowhere, the first thing I thought was "wait where'd that table come from" and since this is a more serious comic the visual consistency would have been nice to see. I would have liked to see more about Shift's sudden violent outbursts (including the table), partially cause Caps and Shift battle so rarely outside tournaments it's gonna be a pain having to wait for more developments T.T

Shift started that whole fight. Nyasuu was just transforming out of self defense! All pluto said was she was selfish.
