The post that hurts the most. I was hoping to face both of you in this tournament, and now that voting for round 1 is almost over that means having to say goodbye to one of you. I AM SO SAD. ;3;

ABLOB-I want to fight this car. Its' so adorable, and toothy. This comic was only two pages, but your gag really only needed two pages. Ay more and I feel it woulda drug on.

BRENTONY- A 50's alien housewife looking dame is right up my alley. I love everything about this green gal-not to mention holding her own in the face of killer car. that last panel is totally boss

ablob: It was good effort! But I feel hungry for some more... I hope you stick around, you have a lot more to give haha :)

Brentony: the sliced car skeletal structure just totally did it for me hahaha.

ABLOB: Love your sketchy style here and especially how well it works with your colours. The story's also a lot of fun and that little poop at the end - beautiful. For the time, there's a lot of detail on shading/backgrounds/textures so a really impressive effort. If anything, next time I would focus a little more on anatomy and your linework, if only because I think it would do you more justice than an extra texture (eg. the way you've drawn B'abyl's lips on the third panel of your final page just pulled me out for a bit and her expression with the gun could have been pushed so much better). This was a lot of fun though.

BRENTONY: This is a nice cute story with really great colours and background work aaah! As LeFred's mentioned I'd avoid transparency of boxes under text - the purpose of the flat colour is to break the text away from your backdrop to make it readable, as soon as you make the box transparent you lose some of that. It gets especially hard on that second page where the text is over a heap of lines. As your backgrounds are so dense, I'd also recommend wider gutters just to give your panels a bit more space to breathe and help with your pacing as well. Some really nice work here though and yeah that car skeleton is great!

Ablob, nothing makes me happier than a malevolent Volkswagen. Too bad that the 2nd page failed to upload properly (thankfully you gave us that link!) as you gave us a wonderfully entertaining story on cars gone rogue. Solid colours but the line work has room for improvement. Still a solid show from your side.

Brent, Simple and effective. I would have used a more lighter coloured text for the first page where since it was already on a dark background. It is also good you did not skimp on the backgrounds as it elevated you comic to a more loftier position. A very good first round.

Pukka work both of you.

@Bretony: Well, I posted in the Bug Reports thread... We'll see what the admins can do about it! I hope the lost page can at least be put back in there for archival purposes (it's too late to mess with the voting now...! GOTTA GO AT  LIGHT SPEED).

Oh noooooo I think my upload failed? There was actually a second page showing all the fighting, but this is only showing pages 1 and 3. I'm so confused. Voting has already started so I'm not sure if there's anything we could do about this...!

But here's page 2, for reference: http://i.imgur.com/DRZ6sq6.png

@Bretony: Oh man, your comic is great! I love that car skeleton, haha. Babs is a lot of fun and I'm glad I got to draw her!

BY THE GREAT HOLY SHIT.

ABLOB - I loved the colours and the mood in this, its very simple and straight to the point and funny too haha! The car is a funny idea.

Brentony - I love this comic a lot, its been a LONG time since I have last seen you do a comic battle since our Arcadia days and you've gotten so much better dude. The writing was fucking funny as hell and I like the way your character interacted with Punch Buggy. I'd say don't do the transparent word bubbles tho, it gets hard to read - but still rad comic man!

Man oh man @ablob, great comic! I especially love the bio-poop cannon. (And Frisk!) I had a blast drawing Punch Buggy, too~

OH and thanks for the crits, guys! Color is really something I want(need) to work on, and I'll definitely switch up my dialog boxes in the future.

And I definitely realized halfway through coloring I should have just done an intro comic and left myself with more room to actually battle >__>

Light Speed Critique: ablob, she was really DETERMINED to get that radio, huh? the sketchy linework did well with the colors you used, but watch where they leak through panels. Brentony, the first page doesn't seem like it was necessary to the other two. It's great, and more comic isn't a bad thing, just not too connected.

ablob - I really wasn't sure about this until the very end, but then it just sort of clicked nicely in those very last panels. It's nice.

Brentony - I always like a full colour, but everything is about the same lightness and saturation, making it a bit messy to look at. Also, transparent dialog boxes are so very rarely a good idea that like, just don't. You did your composition well enough that they don't even cover anything important, so there's really no use for them to be transparent. The story works well though, and I really like the car skeleton at the end.
