JAYKAT- I really love your black and white comics. I think it really allows your rather on point and sharp linework to shine. The tones and textures you achieved alongside make for a really visually pleasing couple of pages. Your theme was silly and cute- nothing like, huge but more of an episodic 'day in the life' sort of deal which was fine. I think I as a reader know the dark underbelly of where Iza came from and what she suffered, so I'm eager to get to the meat and potatoes of seeing that dark adventure put to page. So I'll admit upon reading it, this comic received a 'oh, ok'. reception.
CAMEL- This was simple, but surprisingly poignant. It was cool to see Iza as your comic's focus with Klepp as sort of an incidental character. I'm just a spectator, so I could be wrong, but I think you really caught the essence of your opponents character. Too often we see heroic deeds, people doing the right thing and events wrapping up in a nice bow, so this comic really surprised me. To see Iza give into to her anxiety and wallflower flaws at Klepps expense was really interesting to see. I hope you explore more comic themes like these as shockingly its rare to see here! Moar plz.

SLAYKAT:
I won't have much to say bc others have pretty much nailed it. I enjoyed the shenanigans and the way Klepp brought conflict in a way that wasn't violent nor malicious. My only crit is that I think all of your comic is really dark? I had to squint a bit on my monitor and on my phone. Otherwise A++
CARAMELLO KOALA:
I think this story is excellent; having Iza on the cusp of doing a good deed but stopping at the last minute is a great portrayal of the cowardice she has through a culmination of the events of her past. I may be reading a bit too much into this, but I like how on the 6th page, Iza is turning her head towards Klepp at each positive memory that helped her get out of poverty, but when she recalls Ruuto, she immediately faces away. It's a nice touch. Art-wise, i agree that the first few pages need that same love and pizazz that the later half does.
Excellent work all around!

Great comics from both of you!!
Jay: This was a solid and well thought-out comic; Good pacing for the lighthearted tone and I liked how you concluded it for this one! Really nice touch with the subtle texture on top of the monochrome too, though I feel in some parts it goes a little too dark like in page 2 when it's meant to be in the daytime (unless it was for dramatic effect) but overall it didn't really bother me. Great Job and I hope to see more of Iza!!
Camel: I really liked the story! How you slowly revealed small parts of the character through dialogue was done well. and Ah duuuude I really loved those colours from page 4 onwards. I wish the first few page's colours were a little stronger tho, it doesn't feel like there was enough harmony with the shading and colour choices so it felt more washed out and uninteresting in comparison. Overall this was still a really nice comic and I love to see how the story for Klepp progresses

k, so
I really liked the comic of situation with iza being afraid of Klepp because of her cultural background leading her mistake our guy for a Kappa. BUUUUUT i truely prefer the emotionnal take of Camel on Iza's former homelessness and her guilt because of her inaction. I was like, truely waiting for a conclusion where iza take klepp as a guest, but the last page left me with so much emotions... Edge to Camel on that

Jay: oh man i was a bit concerned this was heading way too quickly into melodrama on too little reason, but this turned out pretty cute! Iza’s just a superstitious woman, and this was a very fun but beautifully executed episode! Should’ve considered the possibility of zombie kappa though, clearly.
Caramel: wow i definitely misread the big “WULF” on page 1 whoops. This is very much a reasonable level of melodrama, yes. The story is very simple but very poignant! Touching on systemic problems like this for Void City is always a neat opportunity. I guess I’m not really understanding why Iza didn’t help him out though, because all the flashbacks seems to be points towards doing that. I’d figure there’d be at least one saying “mind your business” to explain her choice, unless that’s what Fools’ is meant to say (I am adverse to go digging in the collabs to remind myself).

Whoa dang these are some solid comics.
I LOVED the tense tone of yours, @Jaykat , izanami is very fun! MORE IZA COMICS! I think your storytelling was superb here, though I did briefly forget it wasn't an Itami mixer special for a while. Maybe they should be friends and have a mix-off!
@Camel, dude, those purples and pinks. My heart. Ouch. What a great read! The tension at the end was amazing. I felt like I was anxious right alongside Iza with all those memories. (Thanks for the cameo too! I wonder if sumiko and izanami know each other!)
This was a great match! I loved reading these! Thank you!

Honestly, I'm not entirely happy with my side. But I'm still very glad to have had the opportunity to battle Klepp, and I can't wait to see what you've come up with Camel.

Camel, Klepp's resume made me giggle, then the ending gave me chills. I haven't kept up with Iza's history, but in just a few panels you paint me a very clear picture of exactly why she would feel guilty for not doing anything when she passed by Klepp in Wulftown. I expected that to end up with her helping him out, but having her just continue on was so much more powerful. It hits home so hard, because I think everyone has had that feeling of guilt over someone in need who we didn't help, but the fear of getting involved often causes us to stay away from the problem. I'd like to see a little more dynamic framing and perspectives in your art, with a wider variety of close-ups, middle shots, wide shots, etc. But ho boy, that writing was excellent, and I can't wait to see more from you for sure! I love how much you made the comic just as much about your opponent as about your own character; it takes guts to do that, and it takes a good understanding to write someone else's character so convincingly. Awesome job!
