SUNTEE- ah, gosh i just love the aesthetic of this comic. The colors aren't too cloudy- everything is clear enough, due to the warm colors used on the mainchars. Very nice facial expressions, noting particularly in page 3. I feel like the first opponent was taken out way too easily XD But with time restrictions, that's just how it goes. The rubble on page 6 could have used a little more love, kind of looks like hamburgers. The characters are all drawn consistently. Ah I just love how spunk that plague doctor is. These two sure are an interesting duo. :3

DESITARUU- Starting off with a dead baby joke haha, refreshing. The colors are very nice and clean! Though the handwritten dialogue is difficult to read. The wordbubbles themselves are very thin and at one point, one of the bubble tails is escaping into  Catherine's nose. Page 2, I could hardly read that blurb on the top right. Page 9- oop there goes the color XD. Woah pg 13, complete style shift! And I cant say i really understand the events that occurred at the end. Its not too clear. Particularly pg 11 bottom panel. Whats she doin to her?

Sunrise/Flytee: Your art style is really enjoyable and i like the general color tones for this comic, I also love how you change Catherine's mask at the end to show expression that was great. However you do keep it too close and cramped in the panels which results in the action being a bit hard to follow. Going from page 4 to 5 there was no sign of how Catherine stabbed Nova when the spear clearly missed in the previous page. In terms of writing I enjoyed the sillyness of it with Catherine thinking it's a good idea to get into a brawl with some random powerful kids, it shows how out of touch with reality they are in a good way. Also welcome to void and this is an amazing first battle.

Desi/Deji: You did so much amazing stuff considering you lost all your progress more than halfway through the battle. This is impressive and congrats on both of you for sticking through and producing such good stuff with having those tech issues happen. In terms of writing the overall pacing was really good, however the dialogue has a couple moments where the flow of the conversation seems jarring and not quite naturally. I tried to explain it in Vcast but not sure if I did. But do work more on your dialogue and making sure when someone says something it sounds like a response to the previous thing acknowledging what happened. I really hope you two work again on comics since it took a huge technical issue to only halt progress and you both did amazing stuff here.

Team Spooky- this is really impressive for a first void comic, ten colored pages! The writing and banter is well written but also well placed in your panels, nothing seems to be too cluttered even when a character talks a lot. It may have been good to have the panels straightened out, the gutters can be distracting when they're so thick... however the tilted panels add a lot to the earth shaking powers being used on page 8. Overall i thought this comic was good, keep it up!

Team Fairytale- I'll echo what others have said about the text and how it's a bit hard to read in some places. I understood what was going on better in my second read through. It was a bit tricky at first, possibly because most of the panels in this are waist-up shots.. pulling the camera back for something like Catherine fighting them with her tentacles may have worked better. it's a shame there was such a catastrophic computer problem in the middle of drawing. the pages that are finished look real nice!

Sunrise/Flytee: I really enjoyed the style and tone of this comic. You’re kind of over relying on static talking head panels, and some of the action got lost in the closeups. If there wasn’t dialog saying someone’s arm got exploded, I never would have figured that out. So pull the camera back more and get some more shot variety in there. The banter was well written. Good job on a fully completed color comic!

Desi/Dejitaru: I’ll get it out of the way first off, the handwritten text is not good, and really made reading this kind of a slog. No effort was even made to fit the text into the balloons neatly, and words frequently jam into the edges of the balloons, becoming nearly illegible. The lettering can really make or break a comic, and it hurt you guys here.

I think I heard you guys ran into some technical problems that led to the loss of some pages, and it’s pretty obvious where that happened, so major props for powering through this, and to Desi for picking up the slack (not that Deji was slacking)! The sudden style shift is jarring, but knowing why, it is admirable.

The action got a little confusing when Catherine is turned into a tree (I think?), but using your opponent’s magicks against them was fun.

Good work to both teams for bringing it in round one!

oh my. oh wow. This was SUCH a matchup!!!!

SUNFLYTE - that style turned out really cute! Minor pet-peeve is that the hand is backwards at the bottom of page 6 but i have been entirely engaged in the comic up to that point, good humor, great pacing, fun style! I can't really complain about much so I want to say GOOD JOB!

DESIDEJI - WHOA!??! Wow. just. wow. I have to say, there was some part of it where i was like, "wait. whats going on? Whats happening, did this person just cooly say "thats how it is" and that..." but see, i was caught off-guard, not having read the bios of anyone involved in any of this, and all the sudden i realized the siblings have power of suggestion and it was AMAZING. I just. it made perfect sense? i wish it had been drawn out a bit more for some struggle, but it was still really good. I appreciate the general dynamic going on between those two and even with the comic being not fully colored, it was a treat.
I would recommend to clean up the handwriting a bit more, it was difficult to read in some places.

Guys, I loved your comics, well done for producing so many really polished pages despite the tech issues! The colouring is so clean and nice to look at, and everyone's so damn pretty. :O
(Also, Oh my god, trust Elizabeth to get manipulated into using her own death magic against herself. What a way to go.)

Making this comic was a learning experience but we had a ton of fun working on it! I'd love to continue Elizabeth and Catherine's antics, but regardless of who wins, this has been a really positive first experience for Sunshine and me! (Thank you Desi and Deji from both of us <3 Would absolutely get murdered by you again)

Yeah! Everything was nuts haha.
As a lot of you know about
More than halfway into the deadline my iPad actually deleted ALL of my progress and not just that but all of my art for the last few years. We made all of this in 6 days pretty much so the struggle was real and I feel horrible about it but Desi held through those issues and was an amazing partner nevertheless! Idk what I’d do w/o her! I can’t wait to make make a comic where I have the full deadline without technology issues lmfao. Also small thanks to Pyras and Astro for some help on things haha.

On the other hand, Team Spooky! I love the colours I love the atmosphere! Your kiddos are wonderful and so creative I wish you the best! <3 thanks for the amazing comic and being so great!
Oh shoot sorry I posted that on an account I made forever agooo

Sun & Flytee: very solid work from you two! I'm quiteote enjoying this more painterly style you got going on here. I only have minore nitpicks here. On page 4 we get a wind up and a miss with the spear but then in page 5 we have the spear already in the target without another wind up. This reads less like the act of getting stabbed and more like the spear was already stabbed into them before that panel. Important actions like getting the spear reset for another job need to be shown or otherwise implied otherwise the action has less power.

D&D: Deiji's lines with Desi's colors is certainly shaping up to be a powerful combination. Just be careful with that hand written text, it's getting crammed into the bubbles a lot and that makes it hard to read. Try and make the text clear and consistent and that would help a lot with legibility. There's also some issues with panel layout. Page one panel 3 is in an odd position because it hangs down behind panel 4 so ingot caught up there for a few seconds getting it sorted out. It would have been more effective if the bottom of panel 3 was level with the bottom of panel 1 and panel 4 took up that entire space below them, instead of having the white space. Then the middle panels on page 7. Our natural inclination is to read that "Left middle right" but the real order is "left right middle" and it's very confusing.

A lot of crazy stuff happened on Deji and my end, making it so we had about less than a week to get the work done, I very much apologize for the incomplete state of the comic, but we worked our absolute hardest so I hope you guys can enjoy it regardless!

Team Spooky! I just wanna say, I absolutely adore the humor you guys utilized in this comic, and the line quality and coloring made for a super cute playful atmosphere! It's really visually stunning, and a super fun story to fall along with!
Thank you for fighting Deji and I, we had a lot of fun drawing your girls, and reading your comic was an absolute pleasure!

No matter which team wins lets all be proud of how hard we worked no matter what!
