@Luni: For me it\'s just underwear *shrugs* But if it\'s illegal over there and you find it distasteul, I avoid drawing that in the future. I also would have liked a coloring job like that on all my pages... I should organize my time better Dx;

@Squid: Actually... the pantyshot asn\'t originally there in the thumbnails or the script. I just drew it in a whim in the last minute ^^; I should think about those things more insteda of just throwing things in mindlessly.

You know you\'ve done a good job when someone who is completely unfamiliar with the involved characters can still enjoy the comic...
yeah, but I thought the pantyshot was really awkward. I only mention it because I felt that it really threw the nice pace you had going without serving much of a purpose.
Still, I like Deji\'s side more, because it is so colorful

Dure, I love how you work with limited colors. It comes out SO dramatic. As angie stated though, watch incase the characters blend into the background. (I rly just agree on what she said... I don\'t feel like repeating it just to sound witty for the sake of it...) Either way, I loved seeing you use this character. Good job.

with the color, I see that you had a little bit of blue in it, I think it would have been better if you let a little more of the blue to show through, it would have been a more advanced pallete. I see the perspective now, but a lot of times I guess you didn\'t use a ruler. I can tell some effort was put into finding the perspective but its about 3 steps away from being perfect.

@michaelharris: Actually almost all of it was done with perspective grids with one or two exceptions towards the end. Also ^^ the color scheme was kind of monochromatic/sepia toned.. adding more colors would\'ve defeated the purpose. As for the story aspect, I guess its personal preference rather than genre conventions, I like foreshadowing, setup and char development, some people don\'t.
@Angie: Thanks for the feedback :3 it seems this style of monochromatic coloring works. I\'ll try to work with contrasts in my next battle so stuff doesn\'t meld together as much. As for the sfx, I intended to do the sfx when penciling... but I sorta forgot >_< *hides*

Dure-I have to second that this kind of coloring worked really well, I think your colors are much stronger when you\'re working with a more limited palette. Be careful though because occasionally the characters blended into the background because they had very similiar tones, like the \"!\" Akantha on page 4. I\'m really thinking with sound effects, you would have better luck by hand drawing them. Like on page 5 with that big sound effect you probably could have done something pretty sweat to incorporate the sound effect into the composition had you done it by hand. Obviously the quality fell as the comic went on but I know your reasoning so I\'m not going to get on you about that.

Dure, I really liked your art. I think it would have been better if you had actually laid down a perspective grid instead of just guessing at it. I liked your pallete but I think you should have added another color or two.

Both, um not to be mean, I have seen this anime before. The whole \"magic symbol\" thing is something I have seen a lot before. I am not a huge fan of these types of anime stories anyway. The reason anime has long, static periods of backstory is because they are saving up money for the action sequences, not to enrich the story. When you do the same thing, you are essentially emulating a weakness in the media.
I went through some of the manga I own , and they never have ten pages of very static talking shots. THere are several ways to show backstory without being so static. Its a good idea to switch up the views and perspectives frequently, its an even better idea, just to do a flashback

As far as I know (Dure can correct me if I\'m wrong), Willhelm is pretty much blind half of the time and doesn\'t \"see\" things the way we do unless he makes a conscious effort. So... it\'s very likely he didn\'t see Vinca\'s panties while he was trying to get up and recovering from being interrupted in the middle of \"scanning\" the area.
About Mize, Vinca had a quick and blurry glimpse of him while she was passed out after the Itami battle, thou she doens\'t really remember it (she also saw Agito for a brief moment).

You guys made an awesome job, I can feel the improvement on both comics. Not much to say since it was a nice read, I just think mister Dure should stick with that style of cging for his comics, it\' totally rad and makes your sketch lines stand better than the b/w pages I\'ve seen from him.

this battle was great on both sides...
Dure your line work was on point as usual i like that you tried to make a very word heavy battle still be visually interesting. was a good and successful attempt. i liked the set up of the the relation of the two characters you both worked out.
Deji you did a great job as well the cover was awesome, also i really like yur color palette choices... really made the pages pop and gave all the characters a nice energy. the panty shot was funny...but thought the dude shoulda noticed. also was slightly confused cause i thought yur char met mize breifly at the WJ base or was she knocked out the whole time.. i cant remember fully.

I didn\'t manage to make my usual \"excuses\" page, so I\'ll write all that here xD
It\'s been a year since my last battle and... I haven\'t improved as much due not drawing comics pretty much since then. My coloring has improved a lot, thou, but... My awfully bad time management didn\'t let me do a proper coloring job this time (as usual) ^^;
It was a pleasure to battle my dear friend Dure. I envy his drawing skills to no end and I\'m so sorry I couldn\'t battle him before due college and other stuff getting in the way.
I apologize now if I bore anybody to the point of wanting to kill themselves, if my rushed digital inking job makes people\'s eyes bleed,and for making Anya and Aja so OOC ( no matter how much Dure says they\'re ok).
It was really fun to do, thou, and I wish I could have done a better job (as usual).

I love the amount of color you used, Deji - I\'ve seen your stuff on deviantART and it always manages to be very cute.
Dure, I love - contrariwise - your lack of color. Your art is very realistic and I like that. Also, your character Willhelm reminds me of my Mamoru (hopefully coming soon).
