Jobs / Becs character commissions OPEN
« on: Oct 08, 2013, 04:50 AM »
I’ve decided to open up character commissions whilst I have some time over the next week or so. The prices reflect my current professional rate. Anything you are unsure about, please contact me either by personal message here or on rlhahner@gmail.com for a quote and to discuss what you would like! I only accept payment through PayPal currently, up front. I am happy to provide you updates on your commission at the sketch stage, should you want them.

I’m open to most things but bear in mind I reserve the right to turn down anything I am not comfortable drawing. Just ask if you are unsure!

Here are examples of what kind of quality you can expect from these commissions (note: style has been subject to change since some of these were drawn!):

Sketch - £15 (+ £10 per additional character, + £15 for background)

Inks - £30 (+£20 per additional character, +£30 for background)

Flats - £45 (+£30 per additional character, +£45 for background)

Fully Shaded - £60 (+£40 per additional character, +£60 for background)

Please contact me if you have any questions!

Thanks!

Rebecca

GO FOR BROKE! / Becs' stuff (NSFW)
« on: Sep 13, 2012, 04:11 PM »
Hi, everyone! I've been a member of this site for years but never really posted anything. It's been a while since I was last on here but I've started recently commenting on people's stuff and voting on comics so I thought, it's only really fair I start posting too, although I'm pretty nervous lol. I actually have some characters I am thinking of entering but I'm trying to do some practice before I put anyone in the incubator.
to be quite honest I've never drawn a proper comic page in my life because I've become more accustomed to digital painting. I'd like to branch out though so I've started trying to learn to ink in photoshop and draw backgrounds in perspective.
I have some intros thumbed for a couple characters though, so I'll start to sketch them up over the next couple of days and then I'll make an incubator thread :)

Anyway...

First try at digital inking in a very long time, using some expressions of my character Hector as practise. He has the ability to make anything he draws become real for a short amount of time. He's a starving artist so this comes in handy quite a lot. He's not much of a fighter but he always gets in trouble due to using his abilities to take advantage of/trick people, so he's become very adept at running away. I've thumbed some of his pages but I might leave him on the back burner for a while.

This is pHillipa Litmus - she was in a freak acid-related accident when she was younger that caused her arms to melt and fuse into the massive hulking things she has today, hence her huge shoulders and crazy abs. She also has the ability to shoot acid/alkali out her hands, the strength of which differs depending on her mood. Her hair changes colour to reflect her mood and the strength of the acid/alkali (like a pH chart thing http://www.gadgetplus.ca/images/products/pHlitmusPaper_LG2.jpg)

And finally, my main man who I think I'll be trying to enter first...

This is Scrumpy. He's my most developed character so far and I have a bio written up but it's massively long so I might save it for the incubator. But basically he's an alcohol and music lover who hails from the West Country in England and has a demonic mouth on the top of his head. It likes to eat people.

and this is me basically trying to learn how to draw backgrounds, perspective and ink all in one drawing.. I've not really done anything like this before so I'm pretty happy with how its turning out. I'm going to colour it tomorrow and then hopefully I'll have figured out a style to do his comics in :)

Anyway yeah, I think I'll be trying to enter Scrumpy first so I'll be putting him in the incubator soon. I don't want to do it without comic pages though, because I know that's what y'all like to see.
I've been thumbing his intro pages for a while but I'm stuck and have a question: I want to use a couple of existing void characters in my pages but I don't know who, or if I need to ask permission. This is mainly because the intro kind of involves his head eating someone and then barfing them back up (less gross than it sounds, I promise) and I don't want to offend anyone by using their characters. Any takers, lol?

Oh, and I guess maybe I will introduce myself...
here's a stupid speedpaint I did of my stupid face. hello.

ALSO I am so sorry everything is so big. I resized everything on photobucket but it hasn't seemed to make a difference. If anyone knows how I can fix this that'd be great.
Anyway any advice, critique, tips you have, please go ahead!
