JAZ: Dude the softies I still don't like them. Still a damn solid comic here, I look forward to the next! And hopefully the bodycount in your story doesn't get thrown off by all the wierd ties and things

Hey, kuro, thanks for the comment man.
I agree about this not being as strong. I started the comic about halfway through the week and didn't really have enough time for the story I wanted.
About the word balloons. I tried putting the texture over them in the beginning, but it made them hard to read. Maybe I'll try making them an off white or something. I'm on CS4 now and it doesn't have a rounded edged rectangle tool. I can smooth a selected rectangle to get the same effect, but it eats up too much time. Thanks for the tip though, I'll remember to fix my word bubbles for a comic when I have more time.

this was still good. i don't think it was as strong as the last one. nitty gritty:
watch out putting multiple panels in a vertical arrangement to the left of a single tall panel. it's not unheard of, but you really have to know how to trick the eye into breaking it's natural left to right flow to go down first & then right. that's where tangents come into play. like have something in the panel that acts as a buffer horizontally & yet still focuses the readers attention downward. the easiest way is having word balloons overlap the panel edges. but something to be aware of
i'm a stickler when it comes to text & i noticed some things. first off, the dialogue in the pupils? excellent technique. that having been said i think your balloons need a bit more margin in them. try using the rounded edged rectangle with the edges turned up all the way. create smaller in size at first & then shift+scale it to the size you need. i find that it give you that extra breathing space around the corners that the ellipse doesn't allow.
beyond that, i'm all for the treated & textured pages, but the way the balloons are pure white over the texture pages is a little too contrasty for me personally. now i'm not saying just texture them the same as everything else, but i think you should look into doing them a way that compliments your art a little better. at the moment, they feel a bit like stickers over old pages. just make sure that if you do experiment, you maintain legibility.

JAZ: Thanks for the support you guys, I'll keep giving it my all!Carlito Quinones: Hiemie, You, and Me 3-way haha...Quote
Assassins and demons and pigs! Oh my!
Seriously though, that would be awesome because I've been wanting to battle both of you forever.
I probably don't stand much of a chance against Hemie either, but who cares?
I'm doing this for fun and to get better.

JAZ:Phillip C: in your next match against LauQuote
Wait... so we battle the person next to us in the tournament list? I did not know that! 8O

Because of the double default there'll probably be a 3-way match again, and that could shuffle everything up depending who's in it. I really hope it's random! But who knows?
I'm not pre-drawing though... I think it's more exciting NOT knowing who you have to fight next!
I hope it's a total shake-up!... and not the last three contestants: Hiemie, You, and Me 3-way haha... cause I really wouldn't stand a chance. At all. Like it's depressing.

Anyway, glad you liked it man. I tried to tone down the crazy angles as opposed to my earlier comics because people were finding them wonky. I can try to zoom out more though.

Well Jaz, those last 2 nights really show a ton of quality on this, however it seems your opponent gave you the slip. Anyway, I loved the story this time around, you're really proving to be quite the powerhouse here in this tournament. You're really developing Wynn to be a great all around character, I do wish the battle wasn't so much of a meet and fight, but actually... you pulled it off quite well and gave the characters a really good reason for meeting up with one another and set it up quite nicely.
Your art is nice, but I think like Hiemie and Kent, you need to zoom out more often to show what's going down when it comes to the action scenes, if you fix up those camera angles in your next match against Lau, you can really kick some ass. Good luck in round 3.

I spent the last 2 nights without sleep to get this thing done.
This better be another fake default or I'll be really sad... =I

ffffffffffffffffffffffffffuck!
I just spent FOUR HOURS on a page, and didn't have the common sense to SAVE as I went along.
My computer crashed and apparently CS3 doesn't have an auto recovery feature.
I hate my computer.
I hate god.
I hate my life.
Ugh... Venting over, back to work...

WOAH! I just noticed this very second that Jhess is taller than Wynn.
I thought she was a doll hahaha.
Good thing I noticed before I started writing.
