Woooosh

Note to self:  Don't make pop culture jokes in comments anymore.

On a serious note, this is a great comic.  You've been really pumping them out this year.  Only thing I can point out is that some of text placement in the dialogue bubbles is weird.  Mainly because they are a little too close to the edges and such.

amazingdavid:Actually I took all the pages from Heavy Liquid and light boxed them up and just threw in new dialogue. I figure why be original when I can just copy...it's twice as easy....

Hahaha fuck, fair enough. I'll concede, you're a champ man. Well done. Give Pope a run for his money, I've got faith in you doing it.

Jack Hates You: Oh real quick, did you have Paul Pope plot his pages too or did you just wing those?

I really want to see what you could do if you actually took your time when you do pages. On the  characters you do a very brushy type thing, but you pretty much never do that on the backgrounds. A lot of time the back grounds are very starkly black and white to the point that they look almost vectored, the brushy and pseudo vectored textures clashed for me. There were parts where it got a *little* sloppier than  felt allowed by the style. Fun read. That character on the last page really really sucks and should die. slowly.

David

This is an awesome piece of amazing.  Your balance of details; black and white and frame distiribution is damn fine. Even if your backgrounds look a little flat I can still live with it. That seems to be my only big problem but only in ignoring everything else does that become the case.  I definitely didn't get lost and I was reading through your every intention with each panel. You are fluent in Russian women which translates to awesome characterizations. This story was full and packed and felt very much like a very real void episode. You bring back the flavor and shit out pancakes. But for some reason I get the feeling that your style doesn't feel full yet. I dont know what could be missing- but looking back to your old works ; either more detail or more color would have given this the deluxe treatment- but I digress, what I have in front of me is great.

Yes. It was obviously an homage. And you didn't learn anything. Good for you.

Yeah it was an homage...

I don't know if I "learned" anything...too be honest I had Mike plot his page for me so I didnt fuck it up. I wanted it to look like the actual artist as much as possible.

If he's stepping out of his normal style into something new, it's an experiment nonetheless, but it looks like he expanded from and improved on what you did rather than just copy it. .ie the contrasty problems you had didn't show up here, and where he got looser and brushier it still looked tight.

It sounded way meaner the first time I said it, my b.

oh I get it. But it wasn't experimenting, it was an homage to artists he likes...

Jack Hates You: It's like you did everything Michael did wrong right, major points for that.  The experimenting here was nice and your linework is getting better all the time. I really haven't got anything to say other than fantastic battle, way to go!

God, David, your comics are so easy to read! I just kept going and didn't wanna stop! I even had to go call my sister over to read it 'cause it was so damn hilarious and well written! She loved it to. For real, I can see myself buying your comics anytime without a second thought. I have no complaints whatsoever and absolutely nothing to add. Great job man, I hope to see more from you! C:

Seeker, get yours up hon, I'd love to see what you have!

You are my hero.  Seriously.  There's so much going on here and it's great.  I love the details on the faces, especially his former boss.  And I like the introduction of that new character at the end.  I'm not sure what I can say except that I had real fun reading this and that the dialogue was great, each character has a unique voice, accented of course.

I hope Sebastian will find time to put his up as a BB as well.

I don't know what happened there, the last page WAS there when I did the thumbs obviously, I don't know if he reuploaded something on accident or if it was a bug. Either way email me the last page David and I'll see if I can't fix it.

David-I really enjoyed this dude. I think that this is just energetic and expressive enough to still feel like it's your's, but it doesn't come across as lazy or unfinished. In the past some of your stuff looked pretty rushed so I think this is an improvement. Art wise I think my only complaint is your blacks occasionally bleed into one another like on page 6 first panel a lot of people's hair blends into the solid blacks in the background. Maybe adding a little outline around the figures would help prevent this, because I think your stuff works plenty fine without needing toning or colors. Other than that I pretty thoroughly enjoyed this, the story was very entertaining and I hope to see you maintain this quality in your next comic.
