I went to the same college as Nakia, 4:00am, and namida the years they were active and I started trying to get in.  Now I stay because I just want to make comics and get better and just be apart of a community with similar intrest. :'D

Once Upon a Crime, I was making webcomics at DrunkDuck, when I decided to get involved in their forums' comic battles. "Comic...battles, you say?" I was so naive then!

Another of the participants was Lazereyes (creator of Void's Milly and Pinn, though I don't remember what she went by then). She PM'd me one day and was all, "Hey you! You think that shit's cool? Try ENTERVOID!!"

AND I WAS HOOKED. I created characters for the SDT (Bob and Weave) but didn't submit in time. A few months later, Jane Blonde was born! So that's how I gots here...

I stay because VOID IS AWESOME and there are so many diverse characters to fight and creators to work with! I also like the educational aspect. I like to think I've leveled up since joining ;D

I first heard about this site from another artist on the VGCats Forum (of all places..) - this was years and years ago, when I was still in my early 20-s and I spent a loooong, long time lurking before finally entering the Invitational Tournament last year - Alas, real life intervened and I was subsequently unable to access and/or participate in anything VOID-related from mid-july and pretty much up till now..

What keeps me here is simple; you awesome folks inspiring a wannabe-artist like myself to raise my skills and practice harder, so that one day, perhaps, I can draw half as good as some of you people! As a comic-nut who has dreamt of producing comics for a living since I was a little boy, this site is a perfect source for feedback, help and inspiration to become better!

Also; QFE:
I think we should always have events, we should let people in even if we don't like them or their characters. We should let people enjoy ourselves here. This place isn't a school. It's entertainment. You don't graduate from Void and it isn't just for children. When you say you're too mature for something, you often aren't.

I've been on this site for over 5 years now.

I know that isn't long compared to the "old crowd", but it's a damn long time. And I keep coming back because of the fantastic community here. It can get a little shitty sometimes, but the love of comics by everyone here is strong, and it's hard to keep away from that.

It's so easy to try new things, and that being said, it's also easy to fail. Void makes that ok. It's the perfect place to find your comic style, your writing voice, or just your plain old passion for comics again after years of lurking and not doing art.

I've been going through a rough patch in my life, and I did leave Void for a while. But here I am again. I'm ready to start making comics again. And I know that even though I may have fucked up repeatedly, there were people here who cared enough to slap me with a reality check and make me re-evaluate my goals and priorities.

That's what makes Void so special to me. It's not just a place to make comics. It's a place with people who inspire you to make GOOD comics.
- I yearn for redemption, but I'll settle for a breakfast sandwich.

Funny enough, I came here completely by accident.  Months ago, I was telling a coworker of mine about a comic project I was working on, and she told me about a chapter she had drawn for someone's web comic called Night Fighter.  Well, some time later, I remembered that she had mentioned that, and could have sworn she said something about entervoid.  So I went to the site and didn't find Night Fighter, but found something entirely better.  The next day, I saw her at work and asked her if EnterVoid was the site she had told me about, and she said she had no idea.  I've since found Night Fighter, and it has nothing to do with Void.  I didn't do a Google search or use keywords, I just typed the correct combination of words into my browser somehow, based on a misremembered conversation months prior.

Now I'm trying to coax my coworker here, but she's only perused the site so far.  Here's hoping.

It was your DESTINY that brought you here!

Clearly.

Hummm... I dunno why there's just something about this place that keeps bringing me back. Strangely enough I discovered this website as a kid, and now I am an adult haha. Back then I was always anxious to contribute and post a character or SOMETHING, but I didn't know the first thing about making comics. Not much has changed since then!! I think it's because no one around me was into comics like I was, and to see a whole online community celebrating it the way it is done here makes me feel happy.

This site has a fantastic community. I could gush about it forever prolly. I've explained the site to countless people but they always have their own priorities. This is my gym. And also my lounge. I can work out my art and writing abilities when I want to, or I can sit back and watch and chat up the chatroom. There is just so much to play with and so many awesome people to learn from. It is my most valuable tool and my secret weapon. I don't know where else I could find such amazing competition.

Since its been some time, my earlier post explains how I got here. My views have shifted - honestly I have no idea why I'm here anymore. I don't really deliver on my fights and getting the motivation to fight is hard for me now. I used to really enjoy that aspect. So as for utilizing the site I have no idea why I keep trying to do fights and then swear them off to try them again later (because I know I'm not gonna have much fun). It's a cycle I keep inflicting upon myself for no good reason.

That said, I think what got me back and why I stay is mostly because I like the people on the site. There are very few art communities that have ever really stuck with me, that I have returned to, and I think VOID simply has a leg up on the competition just because I like chatting with everyone. I don't use the forum much and opt to use the chatroom instead but still. In my time away from VOID I missed having a convenient outlet to chat with everyone I liked on a regular basis.
