Dan: the first page is pretty good,  this is one of yer best so far.  Dan is pretty gothic lookin, maybe more details on his costume for a meaner look, but that's just me, very cool stuff man.

Dude Jai, I never once commented on his art work. I gave him an A for his. Cant really go much higher than that. but in MY opinion, which is MINE to have, it wasnt the most entertaining piece of work in the world compared to his last tag battle.... and seeing as this is a TAG tournament, I came to have expectations of this battle, just as I had of the last one. Dont get me wrong. Dont get me wrong, your brothers art IS some of the best here. but in MY opinion, the story could have been executed a bit better for this tournament and for the characters. To me, this was in no way a tag match. James and Dan werent even in it. I recall back in the day the rules stated that both artists had to have like both fighters in it, and make it obvious there was interaction, and an intertwined story. Thats not happening here, so the entertainment and creativity points werent as high. Art got an A though. I never attacked or said a thing about the art, so I dont know where you are coming from man. True, yours might have lost mostly because of the art or whatever you just said, but Jar\'s here is NOT losing because of the art. The styles here are completely different, but in my eyes, are equally as pleasing. Had his entry had more fighting, and more of a TAG MATCH (because like I said this is a Tag Tourney) then I probably would have voted equal numbers both sides. I mean, sorry if My opinion, and my perseption of the battle pisses you (the brother) off, but I mean, we all can vote however we want to, and leave our opinions and comments however we want to. Thats why this thing is here. If we all had to vote how the artist thought we should, no one would ever lose, and this would be the lamest place ever. I think I\'ve said all I need to say. None of this was meant in a mean way. For the most part Im just trying to defend that it seems people think I voted the way I did based on the art. I did not.

skullcapcomix wow man I really don't know what to say to you.  If you really wanted to Vote purly on Fighting, then what the hell do you have to say about my Death Match?  There was no fighting at all, and I lost... Make sense of that.  Sure the art was not the best, however, We all draw the way we see fit.  Don't start this whole, I voted bad cuz you didn't fight enough crap.  Hands down Jar is one of the better artists here.  And I don't know about you or anyone else here but everytime he makes a Void fight they are some of the good stuff. Story or not there are always art work to go along with them, don't be harsh on someones artwork or storyline until you can honestly reflect on your own pieces and say you can draw anything perfect.  They you are in a position to man judgement.

Yeah, I know there\'s trash talking. There is in most any fight. its part of it.... just to me and marley, as it pertained to THIS story, it didnt do it for us. This was like a HUGE battle, built up for a long time, and Caesar was beaten in like a second, and then there was just talking. It was like the movie Gigli.... Except no JLo to save it..... not much action, and a lot of talking that didnt need to be there. Thats what beyond battles are for. I mean, sure, go ahead, advance the story, Im not saying you shouldnt. Shit, Im the last person that should, and I know Ive done it too. Im just saying, as it pertained to this huge TAG battle..... this wasnt even a tag match.... it could have been a lot better in my mind. Thats just my opinion though. It was a good 5 pages.... just wasnt what I was expecting.

Also, JAR, after Story Mode, we\'ll have to do a rematch...I\'ll try not to get my butt kicked, cause I\'m sure you\'ll bring the pain.  Peace!

Jar i dig the new look. Though yellow isn't my colour. It rocks the way you handled your bro's death. Anywayz that was kick ass! I'd use more panels to make it last longer, but you work fast and effective. I'll enjoy fighting you.

Whatever man, I thought Fenix\'s fight rocked the house. There was some badass hits (well, two), and Fenix\'s story got advanced. Prune and Captain Void talked shit, but hey, they\'re assholes, that\'s what they do. It\'s not like this is the first time there\'s been shit talking on VOID, nor is it the first time fighting has taken a bit of a backseat to character development. Hell, you even had a fight like that, Dan, and so did Glyph/Silver.

Yeah, I have to agree with Shortfury, Jar. I was expecting something along the lines of the last tag fight you two had..... but this isnt evem a tag fight. You two seem to have come at it on a one on one angle..... and its suppost to be a tag match. So in my mind at least that lost points. The only time James is mentioned is so Prune and Captain Dead Guy can call him a jackass and bastard. Like seriously man, I know Jai is your bro, and I know that has to hit home somewhat, his character being killed... but dude, he kidna deserved it. Even if his fight had been STELLAR, he still would have lost. And its no one elses fault but his own. I dont know man, but you having all your characters call everyone in void bastards and fakes and making Captain Necro into somekind of hero he never was kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The art here was amazing.... but I mean..... it was kinda lost due to you not drawing the actual fight, and only the Scooby Doo stand-around-and-laugh-after-the-mystery-is-solved thing.

Steve, lol, yeah, James is a midget at first..... but its cool. Mines on its way. I was gonna finish in grand stature at Katsucon, but people paid me, Shorty, Galv, and Maximo to draw other things... I woulda done it in the car home, but I cant draw while driving unless I wanna puke all over the place. So yeah, I added shoes onto James in mine, because I cant draw feet, damn you LOL! jk, good stuff man. I liked how all the real action was colord, and there was like a 'prologue-epilogue' black and white start and finish. Hopefully I dont dissapoint.

Jar... I'm sorry. I normally enjoy your work, but that was terrible.. the art is ok, but the story and overall value is lacking.. that and I can't stand egotism in battles. That whole captain planet/superfriends threw me off... You didn't even have a battle sequence with Caesar. Somehow you just magically beat him, and even your partner was barely mentioned... Seems like you came into this battle underestimating your opponent... I voted accordingly

Just needed to throw the story element in for Fenix's new character design.  Sorry I didn't have enough "fighting"...maybe next time.  Shit just gets' repetative.

Fel.  Yeah, James\' legs are deff. pretty short in that first panel on page 6...but you\'re right.  I had a blast working on this.  Fenix and James were both great characters to work with.  My props to both Spikes and JAR for a job well done.

JAR.  I'm usually a big fan of your stuff.  That being said, there were deff. some great moments in this fight.  (Fierce Combustion rocked, as well as the skeletal remains of Caesar)  Just the overall presentation didn't seem as well refined as some of your other fights, and I found the story hard to get into.  It was like coming in at the end of the movie and missing the big action sequence but only getting to see the part before the credits.  Sorry man, but I was just hoping for something more I guess.  (Because you rock so much at this stuff)  I guess you're focusing more on the SDT?
