Reecer you're spot on with my intentions haha, thanks for catching that! I think I'll still need to work on making sure everything's crystal clear in the next

Roflqu: The subversion of the typical comic format here is definitely creative and evocative, but that's kind of all you have? It's kind of coming across to me as a way to skimp out on proper traditional content, because your poetry lets the readers do the storytelling, or something like that. The little scene was tense and very nice looking, but there's not actually a lot there. Maybe I'm just a philistine, but I can't appreciate this nearly as much as your round 1 entry.

Minty: Ey, jokes! I like those! They're good jokes! Fun good times. This is a comic that meshes with me.

Regarding the confrontation having no impact on what happens: I thought panel 3 on page 9 was a cutaway flashback with its fancy panel border? That Hellbux are what they got from Fear and Tammy was just recalling her emotions at the time. Might be wrong though?

Minteh: I don’t think it’s that the comic is nonsensical, it’s that it’s nonsequitor.

Your two characters have an interaction with your opponent that doesn’t effect the plot, and then they get denied passage on the ferry. So the outcome is the same as if none of it had happened at all.

I will say though, if you continue to take criticism the way you are, you will absolutely improve, and that’s ultimately the point of all of this.

Minteh: Your comic was a humor comic and is fine as a standalone thing. Honestly on my first read through I didn't even realize it connected to the last one but is was very enjoyable regardless of that. The focus on this comic was the humor and that's were it succeed, it's nice you connected it to your previous battle but the overarching story wasn't that intrusive or important for your comic.

I have to ask, because I thought it was super clear. Does this comic make more sense when considering it's a continuation of my comic in round 1? I tried to tie it back in as clearly as possible.

I def understand if it fails as a standalone, since it wasn't intended to be. I don't want to defend the comic here, that's not my intention, but I am interested to know if it's confusing just on its own or also as a continuation of that thread.

Thanks a lot for the feedback so far!

Dang, I don't want to increase any echoes in the comment chamber, but... I'm with Heathen. I would have liked to see more from both of you.
I almost think in this case, I'm a little more sad about a full comic of no forward movement (though i admit defusing your opponent's mood is clever). I can at least imagine that Roflqu had more planned and its just not there, cause its one page? With a full multi-page comic, I'm left without the ability to do that. That's just me though.

Maybe that's just the power of formatting though. That's kinda neat too. I must study more on that and see if it hold true for other one-pagers.

Roflqu: damn tough break, this was visually a showstopper but without anything past the first turning point it's less of a story and more of a teaser :(

Minteh: I liked the nod to the house of fragments/miller tourney with the first two pages, not too much happens and it borderlines on kinda pointless of a story but it has just enough funny stuff to bring it to the end I guess, I don't know if it's the best use of Fear (I don't mind the comedic deflation, just coulda gone further with that direction I think)

keep it up guys

Rofqu :I love the art and the layout of this comic and your limited colors are super awesome. However this writing was weak. The first part is an origin story that, while the art transition was nice, is a non sequitur to the second half. I will say I do like how you continued from their first part by having them on the boat. But the biggest problem I have with this is the favor.
This favor was not mentioned in either of the characters archive and more importantly the favor wasn't foreshadowed at all. Like you can infer from Tammy's reactions that she has a past with Fear but that requires reaching and overthinking on the viewers part. We also don't see their reactions to the favor which is important since it gives us a better understanding of the severity of the situation than what we do have. This favor came out of nowhere and we have no idea what the severity of the situation is. So the stinger you end this comic on has little weight. You should have taken some time out of the origin to either foreshadow the favor or hint at the severity of the favor with their reactions to this. You could have even just changed the dialogue dyna and Tammy had to foreshadow this since it would be more relevant. All they really talk about is how creepy this situation, which we already get since you did such a fantastic job with this, so you could have had them allude to this favor instead with Tammy talking about some unfinished business or something. Their meeting had no impact since there was no proper build up for it which is a shame because the art and the way you play with the endless scroll in this is awesome. This comic has the same writing problem your first Pudding battle had, it's all build up but you end it before we are shown the actual payoff of that buildup.

Minteh: This story and situation is really funny and I like what you did with Fear and totally changed the character to make me feel a bit bad for him in this. I guess I could question how they are able to walk around hell city after being chased by the hell cops and killing some of them, but this is such a silly comic that this is just reaching in order for me to think of something to say. Great job and really funny.

Hm. Two comics where nothing happens in completely different ways.

Roflqu: When I first read this, I have to agree with Red here when she said that more story would've been nice, because somehow the dread/anticipation from these three meeting was a miss for me. But regardless, I still enjoyed the story itself! This is another visually pleasing comic of yours that I have little complaints with, looking forward to what else you'll bring to the table!

Minteh: Ok. Ok this comic was great, I loved it, it definitely got a laugh or two out of me. I'm definitely interested in where these two will be going next, because there's not much telling us where the last panel is going to take them. If they couldn't pay the toll to cross, gotta wonder where this path will go. Great stuff, overall!

Roflqu: What you had was really amazing, I just wanted more. The beginning effect was really well done and spooky, I just wish there was a bit more story-wise.

Minteh: I love that you took a serious character and just made them silly. That doesn't always work, but I got a kick out of it this time. Page 5 made me laugh out loud.

Rofl i love what you did, it was short but it packed a lot of dread into it, I thought it was really effective!
