Since it is better late than never, I guess... (sorry!)

@PyrasTerran: This comic was great, I think if it you had had more time to complete it it would have been one of your best! I share the same opinion as Kozispoon: I found the beginning was a bit old-and-tried but it does set you up for the unexpected! And here is this thing I've noticed about your works: while your comics with dialogue are pretty good, I think you are at your absolute best when you do something dialogue-less. The last 11 pages are heart-breaking. I'd really put them in my "Most Memorable Void Moments" list! Anyway, it was a great work, I would have loved to see it finished but what we have manages to stand on its own!

@Mister Kent: Like many said before me, it is really cool we still managed to follow the story despite having no dialogues! I really liked the second and 3rd pages, they had a lot of potential with your use of black and white!

pyras: everybody basically said everything i wanted to but im here anyhow to gush about the ending because i thought it was beautiful and sad. The horror or seeing the flood crashing in, Prince slowly sinking under the weight of the debris, both their dads diving in to save them but only one is fast enough, and the fact that its all silent... goddam heartbreaking dude good job. (ps thanks for the cameo!)
Kent: y u do this 2 me y u gotta break my heart like that i loved P.Prince =(

Thank you everyone for your critiques and kind words, I'm happy I was able to deliver an engaging comic despite the visual shortcomings. This was going to be a lineless grayscale comic, which I haven't done yet, and I'm really upset I wasn't able to see it come to full completion, to the point that I'm considering jumping back on this comic which is 75% done as it is, and showing it as it was meant to be seen.. Either way I really liked how this was going to look from my test images, and I'm gonna try it again in the future.. Once my tablet is reliable again

Hot diggity.

@Pyras Ho-ho, you really went for it this time, man. And it shows. Ya really managed to pull off something that feels like a complete story, rather than a Void Battle. This makes me wanna see more of your lined rather than lineless stuff too. It's a bit hard to crit an incomplete work, since a lotta stuff can be justified with "If I had more time, it'd be that way" but here it goes. Firstly, diggin your cityscapes. Like you're definitely on the right track with it and I woulda loved to see it all polished up. And your action scenes are all nice and slanty and dynamic. Though, when a conversation's going on, it looks like you're very comfortable doing back-to-back shots from the chest up. My suggestion would be to drop the back-to-back part and just do it all in one panel. Like one wider shot, chest-up, with dialogue between them. Alternatively, conversations don't even need to rely on figures. Shots of hands, feet, the background, etc can all spice up a conversation and keep you drawin new shit. But overall, snazzy comic, definitely keep it up.

PYRASTERRAN- The pagecount on this baby alone is indicative of the ambition you had for this comic. You had some fantastic mockups and varied angles of our cityscape which I totally appreciate from the get-go. The argument between Sanari and her Dad is expected, as its kind of their schtick, but the severity of how this took a turn (with audience even!) was unexpected. As someone whose been around during tough arguments, I totally sympathize with Princes face. I'm not sure if these two have hung out before, but I really dig their rapport and ease around one another. Sanari's face when Prince tells her he watches Lily sleep is priceless. The following pages where these two get jumped in the city are a real treat despite just being roughs. You have such dynamic angles and really unique vantage points panel to panel. I think you know better than most how many battles have taken place in void in an alley, but its cool to see you taking it beyond a side scrolly view.
I'm not sure if that whole sequence where Prince gets stabbed was meant to be silent, but I kinda really like it as is! That initial shock- kind of like a grenade going off and the subsequent ringing in your ears as you watch the character try to salvage whats still there. The montage of her attempts to get assistance that is denied only to culminate in that tsunami of flood water splash page totally filled me with dread. You really know how to build up a moment! If this is a death match and you want to dispatch your opponent in the most dramatic and epic way possible- this is definitely the way to do it.

KENT- Your side almost felt like an epilogue's to Pyras' comic, only in an inverted universe where it was Sanari who drowned instead of Prince. I almost wish you'd left things off at page 4 as, without dialogue it almost looks like those closest to Sanari are recalling the dire events that led them all to that hilltop with the gnarled tree for such a sad gathering. I usually really enjoy your comics and what you bring to the table, but it seems time got the better of you on this one.

Pyras: I can see what you meant when you said that your tablet died out on you, but even still you had a damn ambitious comic and you pulled off what you could. Even without all the color and the usual flourishes I can still tell where your vision was going. Your story was solid and the compositions would actually be pretty decent storyboards all things considering. I hope you get a new tablet soon, since now I'm excited to see where Sanari can go after this.

Kent: Given what I've seen from you before, this clearly wasn't your best. I don't know what happened whether it was time or anything, but it looks and feels incomplete. I get the feeling there might've been more pages but that's just me. Hope to see more from you in the future.

I totally checked Void randomly and find some cameos!! Thanks :D

Kent I like Prince and hope he gets more spotlight in the future! Pyras, hey even those sketches were great and the writing was really solid, too.

Jeez, man, why does it have to be this way?

Pyras - Pretty solid story, dude.

Kent - What happened, man?  I kind of don't get what's going on.

Gotta say pyras, this is probably the best thing I've read from you thus far as far as pacing, writing and dialogue goes. Good work. Am aware that you've had technical issues so I won't go on about your artwork a lot. What I did like the most was how you composed a lot of your scenes. Is a real shame your tablet flaked out on you really. This thing could have looked very very cool finished. Keep it up man.

Also KENT YOU BREAK MY HEART WHAT HAPPEN.

NOOOOO!! The feels!!! D8 How could you! T_T
So sad you guys couldn't finish, but what you did get done is pretty solid.

PyrasTerran: Of course, the comic was unfinished, but because of the cleanness of your lines it definitely felt more complete while I was Reading it than it seemed at first glance. I think that there are some places where better shot choices could improve clarity and pacing. During the battle scene especially it would be nice to see some more dynamic camera angles, like in Page 10* panel 3 it would increase the drama to have a low camera angle with the prone Prince in the foreground as Hariq stalks menacingly toward him. There are also some places where more characters need to be in the shot to improve the action. For example, in page 2 panel 4, it would be great to be able to see all of Abbas' enraged face as he walks into the room with Sanari, and in page 11 combining the actions in panels 3 and 4 would help us understand the cause-and-effect of Hariq using his magic and Sanari jumping away. On the flip side there are some shots that are a little too cluttered with characters, which ends up distracting from the focal point of the shot, like in page 14 panel 1, where it might be nice to have nothing but the close-up of the stabbing knife with no characters visible, then switch to a close-up of just Sanari reacting, then pull out for the money shot of the impaled Prince.
*I'm counting the title card as page 1
Loved the story. So sad the Prince had to die, but you sent him off well! T^T

Mister Kent: Even without the dialogue, the action in your comic is really clear and I was able to follow the story, so good job there! I want to know what happens in the rest of the comic! Maybe later you can fill us all in on what might have happened to Sanari.

my tablet/pen, a Wacom Intuos3, is around 12 years old, and in this past week it's starting to fail on me. Sometimes it won't draw or work, sometimes it draws/clicksdrags even when i'm just hovering over the tablet. It's made drawing this battle particularly frustrating, what this means is that this will actually be my last comic for a while, until I can either repair or replace my tablet. been in 12 comics/battles this year so far and it sucks i need to stall my streak but them's the breaks :(
