@MrPr1993 - DUUUUDE you really pushed yourself with those bgs! (Also I loved the cameo XD) The perspective too! Also omg Mimi when they said "Take one" they didn't mean "Take one whole table"! Also it is amazing you managed to make this in only 1 week! Anyway, it was a lot of fun to read and it is great to see how much you have been improving over the years. Great work!

@Maroo-Art - I cannot give you any critique that hasn't been already given to you -except echo Bobo about the comic sans thing... please XD- so I am just gonna say: you did an amazing job at portraying Pre's characters and using their own quirks against them! Also Potho is such a great character! Really funny, the gags had me giggling a lot, I cannot wait to see more of this little demon in the future!

MrPr1993; This was a really fun read. I really appreciate the time you spent on the backgrounds and was reading all the labels that were there. I don't think I care to much for the vignetting you have going around the edges it really doesn't work with the comic.

Maroo-Art; Your comic is so fun and colorful! The writing is pretty smooth and works great to show off both characters as well. I've only got two main complaints about your comic the first being your lines. You have this weird halo effect going on that makes all your lines feel very blury and its really not easy on the eyes. The second thing is that I wish you would zoom out a bit everything feels so cramped and crowded in your comic with most of the panels being head shots.

@MrPr1993: Man, I love how over-the-top your character is, and your bright colors really go well with that. The only problem with it is that between the bright colors, thick dark sections, and gradients, it's a bit overwhelming. I'd recommend working on making the backgrounds more subtle so your characters pop out that much more.

@Maroo-Art: Okay, go to blambot.com and download a free font right away, then get rid of Comic Sans forever! Now, that aside, I enjoyed the cute story you had, and your characters were really fun! What I'd like to see from you in the future is to pull back the "camera" on more of your panels and give us more of a background. You pretty much had no backgrounds in this comic, so even just throwing in an establishing shot or two would make a huge difference.

Good luck to both of you, and I look forward to more from you!

MrPr1993 - Love that you put so much effort into making the background full. That's a long tedious job to do and a lot of artists (me included) tend to skip it. I'd suggest looking into some lighting effects for it. The airbrush lighting is better than not putting anything, but I think it'd improve your dramatic angles to have some more direct lighting and shading.

Maroo-Art - Adorable story, but you really need to zoom out! A few establishing shots would have done a lot to give the characters a sense of space, instead of a lot of head on faces.

MrPr1993: Ah, here's the one with the detailed supermarket background! You even included cameos. This isn't a comic that skimps on setting! This was a fun petty argument with good pacing. I don't know if the punchline completely works, but I guess it works enough for what you needed. Cassidy and the backgrounds use a lot of black, and on top of that the black gradient ad the edge of the panels muddy things a little.. Maybe try using an off-black instead of black for some things. Also, since your character design is so graphic, it'll really pop if you play with the line weight more (making the outside contour lines thicker than the details, for example).

Maroo-Art: Your comic had a fun opening, and you pulled off so many pages with a consistent quality! I don't know if the darker color around the edges completely works. It's an interesting idea, but because it's evenly applied to everything, it makes things kind of hazy, and even flat again.

I think in both of these the values could use a little work.

Inksowrd - Posing, eh? I really can work on that. Might as well practice making the expressions... wackier.

Kozispoon - Got a lotta experience from the many past OCTs on deviantArt. I woulda' done better, but oh well. It was still worth practicing to draw detailed BGs. Hm... I really could work on my English and dialogue even more sooner or later.

This was definitely a great match up. Your art both looks pretty similar side by side! You took your stories in relatively similar directions, but they each ended in their own unique way. Honestly, I was pretty happy with both. My votes could go either way.

MRPR1993-  Haha, I like this janky radio shack store our wee little madwoman managed to go shopping in. Weapons of mass destruction and markers in the same aisle? Someone needs to fire the stock boy. Also, I spy me some Mimi and a busily shopping Genie! Kudos on your cameos. Seems like you've dived into void face first.
I will admit your ending is a bit abrupt and your English and dialogue in your comic was a little odd to read in instances, but overall, a surprising and delightful first effort here on void. Congrats!

MAROO-ART- This has to be the silliest reason to capture Potho, but for this comic it was perfect. It seems you really took a shine to your opponents character and tried to think like a pint sized evil genius. What would a mad little kid want? Something as off the wall as a tan was really cute. I would push some of your expression though. Potho seemed only slightly perturbed to have been kidnapped for nefarious kiddie reasons.

Both your characters and styles really seem to compliment each-other, even the thumbnails for these entries look like they go together!

@Maroo: Your plot was funny, kidnapping a demon for a tan! You really capitalized on Cassidy's age and it played out great. I'm not sure whether I like the sort of glowing effect you achieve with the darker colored line just inside the line-art. It's not terrible or anything, I just am not sure whether it adds to the art at all overall. I dig your expressions, they're nicely exaggerated and cartoony! You might focus on them a little too much though, you could do with pulling back the camera a little bit and showing the character's bodies more. Also there's only one single panel where the characters actually are together on the page! Combined with the lack of solid backgrounds, it doesn't really ground the reader in a sense of place, but your funny dialogue still makes the story work well.

@MrPr: I can see you're really putting an effort in to have backgrounds and a sense of space, so good job on that! Your entry was also funny, and I really love how you had your 11 year old genius trying to use children's markers for her evil schemes. Gave a nice unity to the character. I'd like to see you work on your posing to make it really cartoony and exaggerated to fit your character and writing style!

AHA I loved the way these characters were paired!! These comics both gave me a chuckle and I absolutely love both of your art styles!!

A bit of advice for @Maroo-Art about font choices. From what I learned in some graphic design courses in high school, comic sans is one of the most un-serious fonts to look at since it has sort of an elementary school look to it. I did like your font choices however! They were readable and made sense to each of the characters!

A tan? Ahahahah! All for just a tan!

This came out so good! And hilarious! Heh. Guess no matter which of the two entries are, she'll still have a trip of the hospital.

I congratulate you! CONGRATS!
