Thanks Monday, same to you as well! Your comic is fucking awesome.

I believe I have lost this fight (and rightfully so, your comic had a lot more time put into it and I think everyone here can appreciate that) but I am thankful for your words all the same. I struggle lots with confidence, and have been going through some things lately that may have brought out a not so great side of myself. I definitely apologize to you, or really to anyone, if that came across like a slap to the face or as if I was being an ass. It isn't my intention ever and I know I'm extremely self-conscious about my art and harder on myself than anyone else ever could possibly be. I'll try and be better.

You made a hell of a comic and good luck with the rest of the tourney dude!

To everyone else thanks for your kind words or scathing remarks - all the same a comment is a comment and its much appreciated. This character, this comic, and what I envisioned to this tournament fell victim to myself - there was a whole lot more planned. To touch upon some of Pyras' comments - Venom was to be darker than anything else I had done, and she was to have a different dynamic to my other characters exploring the nature of violence, the idea of freedom, and what it means to lose it. I was going to end up going for a mix between the high octane action I like and a slower, more calculated story - the action was to be the payoff. I just didn't use the time allotted to me so it turned into what I know how to do best in a short time - a shonen-esque hyper fight comic ultimately culminating in that payoff being shot right out of the gate.

Maybe someday I'll explore this character more through beyond battles, or if there is ever another SRT (or alternate way of reviving characters) maybe I'll jump back in. Until then I'm glad people still liked her and I'll probably still draw her in illustrations.

Thanks to anyone who took the time to read and critique this. As per usual I have a track record of never knowing who might win these battles so I'll get this out of the way,

Charlie; you're an absolute beast and Im glad I went at this with absolute caution and without restraint. I would urge you to give yourself more credit with your works since in the end, I had to fight a formidable opponent  such as yourself. And this is fact.  I say this to you regardless of whether or not you win or lose.

Everyone's feedback is appreciated, and I'm fairly convinced to give action compositions and camera work a serious study for future fights.

Shen: I was totally blowing up the space inside the van I'd like to think I can get away with it so long as everything looked skewed and cluttered with icecream stuff :v

Pyras: I'm so glad you understood that one part @A@, I can die happy now! Next time I'll make sure you can understand it in 1.5 read throughs >:v !

Neary: I dont know if its a personal problem but for some reason easy to understand scenes hardly equate to good looking scenes for me. But I know the two can mix ! One Day !

Kuri: Thanks for reading ! I dont have any excuses, the last pages had to be cut in half due to technical site stuff.

Nabster: Welcome to void It's always good to find someone that reads our comix

Really nice story and I think Kids Meal is an awesome character. His little actions are great like pushing his head up against the window!

The grey tones really help define the imagery. I’m quite inspired by it, I’m going to give it a try.

I’m a big fan of your Action shots, the curves of the blood, the animation-like compression and stretches of the impacts in the fights

I feel that some of the panels just didn’t work. I think the angles and how close they are doesn’t give the reader a communicative enough perspective on the scene.

EndShark

Kids Meal has such a Greninja vibe in this!

You already know I’m a huge fan of your work and I think the comic is beautiful so I’ll just try and give some critique to hopefully make it improve even further!

The backgrounds. The colours, speedlines, staticy screen tone all lend to the power of your art style and make the whole thing feel turbo charged and emotional but I notice it often hides the fact that you don’t actually draw backgrounds for a lot of the panels. You do in the first 2-5 pages and this sets the scene very nicely but then it drifts into a digital video-game esque fighting realm that could be anywhere and you lose the gravity and feeling of place that you originally set up. I realize that video game hyper real stuff is your thing, but I think you could probably pull off both at the same time!

oh man oh man, you guys really brought the fire! these were both amazing comics!

Monday- ok first, that text note on page 15 is probably my favorite cameo ever, thank you XD everyone do remember to hug a Shen today~ lol! I wasnt sure I had a good grasp on Kid from your design page but I wasnt prepared for his fun, childish personality! This is beautiful to look at as always though some of the action scenes got a little hard to follow, but i suppose its tough drawing an entire battle take place in the back of a moving van. i think sometimes it may have felt like they had more space than they did to maneuver? I do love how it had the story elements from your intro, i feel like we almost never see someone actually GET their revenge, haha! This was great from back to front!
charlie: ok but HOW THE HELL did you do this in four days i am COMPLETELY jealous of that superpower! This is so delightfully over the top, your action always blows me away and I love the expressiveness of your gestures! also how do you colour so goddam well like teach me your secrets! i will agree that it would have been nice to see Venom get a bit roughed up, i feel like she won too easily against Kid's most powerful attacks but it was still a fun read. This may actually be one of my favorite battles from you!

Monday: hey hey I was in the same boat as you: I didn't know what to make of Kid's Meal on the drawing alone but this comic has me sold. Beautiful as your art always is I still have trouble understanding what is happening some times, and I had to read this twice and read other critiques to fully figure out everything. But the carnage and emotion is there, and I really wanna see more!

Charlie: I think when it comes to character designs, everything you've done for the Venom-verse here is by far my favorite of your various characters' worlds. The plot is classic Charlie and you already know your strengths and weaknesses in that regard so I'm not gonna drag that any further really. I'm astounded that this looks so good for 4 days of work and only wish even more that I could draw comics as fast as you can. art and plot aside, what i really want to see more of in future comics is personality variety with the protagonist. Seeing as this is technically the "first issue" of this character's story I'm not broken up about there not being much development for her here, as we're just getting introduced to what her life and powers generally fall into. But if you make it to the next round or pursue more Venom stories in the future in general (I would enjoy cause again this world is my favorite of yours designed), I would consider other kinds of personality quirks to add to your protagonists.

Great job both of you, enjoyable reads and keep on trucking!

Monday:
• Decent overall flow, though it feels like it hits a bump between p14 and 15
• One or three rough to read spots in panels but nothing serious, IMHO

Charlie:
• It looks pretty/colorful but the composition could use some work to make it punch and flow more, I think.
• A lot of large panels -which isn't bad in itself but given the short amount of time to do the comic, it really can cause problems with content. The color (which is, again, really pretty) probably didn't help with the time budget, I'm guessing.
• The fight/story feels kind of flat unfortunately.

-- I had originally took Quality to mean an overall meter of the piece, but looking at TheNabster's post, I adjusted it a bit to mean the drawn/painted aspect of it - which has its own ambiguities...

In hindsight maybe that was a bit on the sharp side on my end. But it did feel like I was building to a huge fireworks display and got a roman candle instead.

Sorry boss.

Alright comics yo!

MONTAG:

I like! I like it a lot! It feels like someone who is still mostly human fighting someone who is much, much stronger then them, and winning through some actual /guile/. Like an actual monster hunter.

ART: I like Monday art, even if some of his earlier stuff was a bit hard to follow at times, he's defiantly made steps up since then, and now I can follow the action :v. But really I have a soft spot for greyscale stuff, and he has compensated for it with lots of detail jammed into the page itself. Good times, good stuff, I rate 8

CREATIVITY: How do you deal with a spooky ghost werewolf with crazy powers. Actually planning a head, making stuff up on the spot if needed, and dragging it along the floor for a few miles to eat the tarmac seemed to work. It's a good fight and it had good moments and it wasn't completely one sided, and how he tied it up some background into the story is something I like also. I rate a 8

ENTERTAINMENT: Speaking of which! This is fight that looks evenly matched, and possibly even disadvantaged against the comics protagonist, after all the fight damn near killed him before he got the wolf. Neither side felt like they were just effortlessly crushing the other side and it actually looked hard fought. It's a Death Match, you're going all out, you work damn hard to kill the other guy so he doesn't kill you. It was a brutal fight and that's how it's /supposed/ to go. I rate an 9

CHAR LEE:

Aaaaaaaaah. Yeah. This reminds me of the last comic I voted on actually, last years Armageddon threat, really good battle, really good read. The threat had one problem that just killed it for me on their side.

ART: Nothing wrong with the art, it's coloured, it looks nice, the action is easily followed, I can't really say anything wrong against it, I rate it a 9

CREATIVITY: The fight is... Eh. It seemed to have a pattern of Kid's Meal POWERS UP and gets no selled by Venom. But then Kids Meal has his NEXT FORM which gets, no selled as well. And then when he seems down for the count he has his REALLY FINAL FORM and just gets killed in one punch. Come on, really? Could have, maybe made Venom sweat a little? Look like she is exerting herself? The design and interpretation of Kid's Meal stuff is nice, but from creativity, it's a 4.

ENTERTAINMENT: You know what's anathema to my enjoyment of cartoon mans hitting each other? Something that really makes me dock points, like no ones business? A bloody one sided fight. Granted, it works great when the side doing the stomping is established to be a triple A hardass that mows down the other side to show what a threat he is. But when I rock up to a /death match/ I want to see someone actually look like they are fighting for their survival, I want to see two people going all out. And Venom did jack shit that fight and seemed to win anyway, that, that makes me a sad panda. You're getting a 1 for taking a rematch that should have been so much solid gold and making it into a replay of Mayweather vs Pacquiao.

Uploaded. Did mine in about 4 days 'cause I had no motivation and almost didn't submit anything (which would have made me an asshole), so I cranked hardcore the last few days so pardon the dust (or don't).
