WELL ITS ABOUT TIME. Welcome aboard the crazy train, Mort. Population, yo' fine ass intro comic! I've read some of your replies to the comments you've already gotten and I gotta say, don't pigeonhole yourself. I think I speak for everyone when I say you are more than free to try new styles, experiment with different layouts and looks to your pages from battle to battle. What's void if not the place to allow yourself that experimentation and make great comics in the process?

I loved this opening to your fighters tale when it was in the incubator, and I still love it now. Suuuper interested in seeing who Audrey's first lucky opponent will be. Best of luck out there! :D

Thank you all so much!! I'm kind of figuring out a style,  so I'm trying to figure out what I like and what fits... (I love detailed backgrounds but I love simple graphic characters.... the struggle....)

Hopefully with Void I'll be able to find a really good in-between. However, I'm excited to work more on embellishing and lending more strength to backgrounds!!

@ Shen: Thank you, I feel like one of my biggest priorities should be trying to reconcile the setting and character because I can see how it's... 'separated'. AND HECK YEAH I'M GOIN' AFTER TYLER

@ Julz: I agree-- I should have embellished the interior a lot more u__u its a weakness of mine, I hope to add more to it. Thank you so much! And hECK YEAH girls with claws n horns!!

@ Pocketmouse: Ooh, that's a good point-- I didn't realize how much I was lacking in texture here, thank you! I'm gonna try to incorporate that with how I make people fit in with the settings...

@ Rikun: AHHH thank you!! I think shadows definitely would help more-- just gotta think of a good way to incorporate and render them! I don't intend for my perspective to be so super angular, I want it to look more natural unless it's supposed to, so thats another thing to work on u__u

Thank you so much everyone!! I'll definitely try to work on these all before my next comic!!

Hey Mortooncian! So glad to see Audrey finally make her debut in Void! And what you have seems pretty promising so far!

You seem to have a specific graphic aesthetic going on and I really like how your character designs stand out. Audrey already appears to be a fun character to work with what with being a kind-hearted demon wrestling with her terrifying appearance. I can tell you've already got a good sense of lighting based on how you drew your backgrounds in your first two pages and there are moments where your shading works really well.

Mirroring what everyone below has been saying, there are moments in your comic where everything comes off flat, especially in the kitchen. This is probably due to a lack of ground shadow and everything having only one single color, but it makes your characters look like stickers on a painting as opposed to physical beings in an environment. There are also moments where your perspective looks so angular it's unnatural, though at this point I can't tell whether or not it's a conscious decision.

In any case, I'm glad to see you here and I can't wait to see more!

WooHoo!! Great to see you in! Nice idea with the cake!

Right now, it would be really nice to see a bit more texture in your art. Gentle gradients, painterly filters, overlaid textures or even some lighting effects could all help smooth out the large areas of block colour. It wasn't such a problem in the outdoor scene, since you have the rain breaking everything up - however it becomes very noticeable during the indoor scenes.

Otherwise- solid comic! Can't wait to see you in the ring!

Wow that was a wonderful intro comic. Lots of amazing colors even if the perspective fails in certain panels such as page 2's hallway in the first panel looks like it's higher up. Looks a little better in the second to last panel there but I think that's because the camera is closer to the door so we can't see it in reference to the entire room like in the first panel. Other than that, despite how pretty all the colors and style, I still feel like this house is very barren and generic. It could use a little personality so it's not so cookie cutter :D Outside the house has lots of personality though being all crushed and dilapidated and I love the rain effects. Spoopy! I'm also a sucker for clawed girls and horns so she wins my heart doubletime. If things only look up from here then we certainly have a LOT to look forward to!!

ah, yay, you made it!! Audrey is finally in, Im so excited for this cutie! Gosh i love your colours, theyre beautiful! I feel like sometimes the characters dont always look like they actually exist in the environment though- like on page 2 it doesnt really feel like the girl is in the chair because the styles for the girl and the chair are different, and then on page 3 suddenly everything kinda flattens out. Nice expressions though and I feel like a good sense of who Audrey is even though she was kind of secondarily focused. Super excited to see her fight! (Also, hitlisted!)

editing to add I vote you go battle Heratik. NEW BLOOD FIGHT. cant eat a ghost!
