(Pi) Dually noted! Good point. Part of the problem was that I drew this over such a long period.... well you know. Issue #2 will be completed far more efficiently, and in a FAR FAR FAR shorter time.

wicked comic. i'm with charlie on the inconsistencies of figures/character designs; they can be a bit distracting. i think you should probably settle on some actual stylized shapes instead of just drawing gabe or kevin or yourself from memory.
looking forward to the next bit!

Damn fine looking comic, the gritty deformed Darrowesque characters perfectly juxtaposed with all the tones and neons and detailed settings. As a long time lurker I recognized quite a few subtle nods to Void legends and props for making something worth publishing and putting out to the world to get people into the game. You populate Void with dense crowds and all manner of freaks to really create a sense of the living world I think most comics lack, also that sense of community and relation between the longtime player characters. That only comes with being around as long as you have and its something I hope all the youngbloods establish for themselves in due time.
Clearly this project is a labor of love for you and I know its been a long time coming, I sense there's a meta layer to the plot, this notion of time passing and the evolution of the game and its players. I feel you there, I admire your willingness to continue the fight and make something worth sharing to serve as a reminder to those gone and something to aspire to those just beginning in terms of just how good they can become and what Void can yet be. Wonderful work to the entire creative team you've assembled. I greatly anticipate the next installment, we'll be waiting for it.

Currently reading this but I spotted Megaman in the crowd already, and that automatically makes me smile.
Edit: Awesome art, the colours really make things pop too and I dig the halftones. The figures at times get a little odd/wonky but in general I think the style worked well with the bright neon-atmosphere. It is also nice to see a buttload of backgrounds too. Writing wise it was a little monologue heavy for me, there were times where I felt the text to be redundant and/or repetitive but it was still engaging enough.
Good job guys!

Tofubeast, that is excellent to hear! Part of the reason for the slightly slower start is that we anticipate new audiences, particularly outside of the site, to be reading this at some point, and we didn't want them to be TOTALLY lost, so we wanted to establish the city, it's feel, and a bit about each of the main players (Dan, Toast, Madelyn, Galvo). Now that that is done..... The real fun begins.

OLD SCHOOL VOID REALNESS. I love it! You guys knocked it all outta the park here. Props to Dan and everyone else for really putting out a great piece.
I'm not too familiar with Dan's story, and I only vaguely know about the old schoolers (I'm kinda recent), but I could follow along just fine, and I want more. MORE I SAY!

Aiming for finished letters this weekend. It has been a long while since I have lettered a comic, and so am taking a little bit of time to make this look as neat and uniform as possible. Have to make sure I have the sizes right for printing as well. So many props to Angie and Toast on this one. Her colors brought this story to LIFE, as did Toast's dialogue and scripting. No more robotic dialogue written by me haha!!!!! Anyways, hoping to have letters done this weekend, and then if I finish that quick enough, I may be able to finish pencils on issue 2 as well. Which would be about one million times faster than I finished the first issue in..... so that is good!

It will be WAY sooner than this, and I am glad it is back up. I just need to letter. Then based on progress on Issue 2, I will make the final decision with Kevin on when this should go up. WAY sooner than 100 days though. Which is awesome to finally be able to say.

Oh Knomer.... you WOULD bring that up hahaha! Anyways.... this will likely be moved out 2, 3 weeks tops. Ran into some wicked bronchitis that threw off my momentum something horrible. I also don't want to push Angie coloring, as she has many other projects at the moment too, and I don't want to over-do it. Still coming out though. ALMOST done!!!!

Thank you, Orange! I hope not to disappoint! ...someone needs to tell me to stop looking at the figures... as even at 25 pages, this will still only be 5% of the story.... haha! Remember, this is seeing print as well.... if anyone wants to throw any pinups at me... Black and White or Color (book will be in color)... I'll throw them in there, as long as they look good, and are high-res and roughly scaled to fit a standard comic book's dimensions.

...although, some of them do serve as time stamps for just how long this story has actually been coming together.... the answer, is YEARS. Insanity.

It's getting closer. Finishing the last few pages of this issue up. Kind of makes me want to go back and re-draw every relevant VOID story I have done thus far, so they, you know, don't suck so bad....

Why thank you, sir! Epicness is a good word for what I have in mind, and hopefully still applies to the finished product. Glad there are people looking forward to this! Your support keeps me going!
