Well I had fun but I also learned a lot of things from this battle so I thank everyone who gave me feedback both in the chat-room and on here. I know I already said it in message form to ya Krat but I REALLY enjoyed your side of the battle and you got Viv's personality spot on. I had a ton of fun reading it.
Had a heavy style shift in this and learned a thing or two about dialogue and trying to ink the bubbles first and put in digital text afterward. Glad it was entertaining but I can also see how it was too long-winded. I'll be making an effort in my next battle to cut back on both page numbers and dialogue and bump forward more quality and environments. Maybe spot blacks too. Who knows. Thanks again.

I really loved the art in these... the color palettes were fantasmic. The stories bored me to tears though.

Good christ.
Although these types of comics aren't my cup of tea, they do taste like my favourite coffee.
Strong entries from both sides.
Drastic - The pacing was topnotch, from beginning to end. Very well written.
One of my favourite parts is the way you drew Ed getting socked on his nose. Looks like some serious damage happened there in a funny way.
The thing that really got me smiling and cheering was when Vivian put on her headphones. I Youtubed the song, played it while reading the rest. And damn does it add value to the sequence that follows. The action scene that followed came alive more because of it. Nice touch. Perfect 10 on the entertainment.
You portrayed Edgar as both the hero AND the fall guy. Got his personality spot on like it was your own character which made me give a shit what happens to everyone.
Krat - As usual, strange but awesome colours. They add alot to the atmosphere and perfectly distinguishes events occurring inside or on the streets.
At some points the reading got a bit uncomfortable do to the shape of the speech bubbles or how they are pressed together. No biggie, the humor that was in it racked up some more entertainment points.
My favourite part was were Edgar went all jargon only to get it dismissed by Vivian. Fukking awesome comedic timing!
The followup was even better were Vivian goes: "You do me a favor, i'll do you a favor. Y' know i'm a fair woman"
And the angle just HAPPENS to be where you see the shape of her lower body enhanced.
Both of you made this in a way anyone can tune in without having to be familiar with the characters. It is a touch i envy!

DrasticFantastic - Nice complete arc, it took quite a few pages but at least it has the complete curve. Little bit of envy there.
Krat - This one I was mostly with though the ending seemed to just kind of peter. I wouldn't ask for a big fight or explosion or anything, but neither of the character's positions or personalities seem to have changed much by the end. Again, I don't need anything life changing, but I can't help but think the conflict of the art piece is a little more interesting than the way Edgar reacted to it since, and this will sound wrong, he reacted as one might expect. Maybe I'm just more interested in the politics of art than angst or something, it's hard to put my finger on.
Art wise, they're both great, contrast in all the right places, the expressions, everything.

Drastic- You are just awesome man! I feel real privileged to be on here while you're making comics.
I missed out on the whole James era, and though your style is nothing like his, you're along the same
Lines to me of pure comic goodness and dominance. Every comic you do makes me happy.
Krat- I love that you try new things each battle and always in a different style. You're also really,
really talented and one of my favorite artists to read. I didn't like this one as much as some of
your past fights, but I respect the effort you put into everything.
This was a really good fight.

This was AWESOME. You're both amazing at conveying expression through facial contortion, gestures, and posture--not to mention exaggerated movement and lines.
krat, excellent use of limited palettes and expression in the comic, and I like the awkward but all-too real situation where a minority gets called on to calm down their peers just to make life easier for the privileged party. It made Vivian into a worse villain for me than the mobster in Drastic's comic. Your ending probably would have been fine if I hadn't read it AFTER I read DrasticFantastic's, but I agree with a previous comment that it was a little anticlimactic. With such heavy issues on the line earlier, I would have liked to see a resolution about those rather than discussion about Edgar's delicate condition.
DrasticFantastic, your fight scenes are awesome. That panel of Edgar getting punched in the snoot was one of my favorites. It was one still frame, and yet it really looked like action. Your grasp of anatomy and the way clothes fold made this a really sharp, believable read. The only thing that tripped me up was toward the end when you added conversation with the doctor before they were at a hospital... It didn't feel right to me, since you hadn't messed with dialogue/time anywhere else in the comic, so it seemed like a betrayal of the present-tense I'd been enjoying so far.
I'm still new to this site, so take everything with a grain of salt. I'm going to go look now and see if either of you (hopefully both) have webcomics I can start reading.

Drastic: I loved the gang. Especially the small man with big head.
Krat: awesome arty fartyness Edgars little speech on the picture was brilliant

Two really great comics here, I love how you both used colors/greys'n'blacks.
Only setbacks I see,
Drastic, the cut to Edgar's appartement taliking to his ...cat... seemed too sudden and unnatural. There's no pause or background to tell us the setting changed.
Krat, the ending was kind of a letdown, maybe that was what you were actually going for, but still anticlimatic.

Toast said he didn't get your custom thumbnails Drastic, so I'm making some and tossing them into the folder since I don't want to delay putting up the battle due to thumbs.

Well mine is mostly uploaded but seeing the "How To Upload" comic that's been put up, even though I e-mailed Toast the last two pages and the thumbnail to use, I haven't been able to put up all 22 pages myself because of an apparent problem with the server not allowing folks to upload more than 20 manually. Just waiting for Toast to put through the pages I guess.
Just thought I'd do an official comment like the instructions said. :I

I think I came to the realization of the risk I took with how I decided I'd do these bubbles and the text I have yet to do. But its all about the experimentation.

I can definitely see how this is not one of my stronger stories, or at least not one of my stronger endings. Admittedly there were some issues popping up during the course of doing this, but regardless, I'm going to try to produce better story lines in the future.
As for Drastic's half, it was pretty damn amazing. What else can I say?
Thanks again, Drastic, for the opportunity to battle and thank you everyone for your feedback.
