qyz, nice work on the background bits. angie already said it but varying the zoom of your shots would've helped. also coil didn't seem to look his age to me. and i wasn't a fan of the usage of different fonts. the other one didn't really do much to suit the style.

monday, usually i have clarity issues with some of your stuff, & i see others mentioning it here, but this worked just fine for me, i gotta say. though going back through a little, i can see where they might've had issue as at times, there were things getting a little lost in the shadows. otherwise it was nice.

Q- loved the color and inks and sfx. There were a few parts that got me confused like where the missles were coming from and what not and the thing with the grenade so work on those lil details nextime.

Monday- The art was great but I felt like your contrast made the pages very staticky. Also i felt like I was reading a flash back so work on your narrative and when you do you planning, concentrate on the focus of the image before laying on the inks so that the image can be a lil clearer.

Qyz-I was glad to see the Photoshop glitter animation lesson I gave you was put to important use haha Now dude, please get another character in if you don't win, this comic showed massive improvement from the last thing I saw from you on the site. I think you just really need another character you're attached to (I know people say otherwise but this is my advice) because to me it seems like you really cared about winning and were working with a character you had a previous history with and there was just a lot more effort put into this comic than anything I've seen from you on Void. My only suggestion on this comic would have been for you to zoom out a bit more from time to time. Like most of your comic is just closeups aside from that establishing shot. While you can get away with a lot of closeups in a comic, when you're working with action it can make things a lot tougher to follow.

Monday-glad to see you revisit digital inking! I find that your stuff is quite a bit clearer when you're doing your work digitally. I have no complaints art wise since this is a pretty solid effort and this is some of the clearest and easiest to read stuff I've seen from you. But I felt like the story jumped around a little so I had a hard time getting into it initially. Like we go from the touching scene in the beginning to a monologue then to thinking about what's going on in the battle then Amazing Lobster Boy appears. I think just a little more lead in to each scene change would have helped the pacing feel smoother and less all over the place.

Though I'm not Qyz I wanted to clear up that whiffing punch thing.  The punch 'whiffed' because it missed, the next panel is Ashley rearing an arm back and then gouging Coil's eye.  Anyways....

Monday first.  I gotta agree with the rest, clarity is kinda an issue here.  I had to mark it down for entertainment because I really didnt get what had happened the first time through.  It does need several re-readings to make sense.  The inks are nice as always but yeah, clarity.  In my opinion, your clearest and best comic was against Centipete though it was unfinished.

Qyz, I liked this comic.  I felt like your Coil was a parody of sorts and that wasn't bad in of itself.  I like the faded colors you used and especially the mountain scenes.  This was pretty cool overall.  I wish you had included Ree somehow though you kinda gave it a nod in one of the panels.  I didn't quite understand where the huge missiles were going, I had thought they were nukes and assumed I would have seen their effect later haha my bad.

I dunno I feel like both entries were pretty on par, though one's clearer than the other.  I do love the fact that Joachim's specter seems to hang over the SDT in a few battles.

Qyz - Yeesh, now that is an improvement if I ever saw one. I really enjoyed the scene of Ashley hiking up the mountain. Also, good color choice. However, your story was bland and Coil was rather 2d. Your action seemed a little nonsensical, especially page 8. I have no idea what's up with the whiffing punch. It didn't really lead into the eye gouge, and the gouge itself didn't really have any weight to it, as if Coil's head was made of pudding (delicious?). Pretty much no story, but you still did have some cinematic scenes. I liked the scorched Ashley and the avalanche going to black was pretty sweet.

Monday - I liked your story. I had to read it two times, unfortunately, to get it in perfect clarity. The first few pages were stunning and forceful, but the following pages were swallowed by shadows. David pretty much hit the nail on the head.

Jesus Cristo I wanna make sweet sex to your inks Monday...sweet sweet man boy love sex to those black tight inks...
I might be a bit biased on this fight cuz well...I loves me some inks...It did get kinda confusing and crazy on some pages where you were descirbing too much action.  I think in those instances it is better to err on the side of white than black...for clarity.

Qyz..Solid colors good stoy...While simple and straight forward your story was a lot less convaluted than Mondays so on entertainment value I dug yours way more...I felt that Coil kinda turned into Random Crazy Character A...but whatevs...good solid work

Qyz- you ramped up asstons man, your skills are getting a lot better. And thats a hefty page count to be fully colored, its impressive. On the flip side though your story is a bit weak, I know this is the sdt and it ground my gears last year when people complained about 'typical' story, but the issue I really saw was that you let coil become 2D and not develop as a character. It made the death feel a bit meaningless and gave the plot less weight.

Monday- Careful with some of the action scenes in noir, its easy to loose coil or the opponent in whats going on, especially with explosions in this style.  I liked the fact that you did give Ashley weight, at the same time giving us a bit of an inside on Coil as well. The SDT is about a good story first and strong art second in my opinion, and so my vote goes to you this round. Just be careful about over complicating it, you have that habit.
