I've come from the future to say this battle was awesome! Some great advice in the comments, too, for any fellow time travellers checking this out.

I'm a bit late here, but uh--

Jong, this was awesome dude, the watercolors and inks were great. The story was also pretty good. I think you are having some trouble with faces though; the eyes kind of looked like the were facing different directions in some panels and the lips on the characters looked a bit weird sometimes too, I think it's the upper lip that looks odd. not sure why it does though...but I really liked this, good job man!

Dure, Also pretty good. Colors were ok, but I really liked the colors on page 3 because the colors just work nicer there, probably because the pencil work seemed cleaner. The color scheme on page seven was also quite unique and a comic in that type of color scheme wouldn't look half bad. I like your coloring, but I do feel that the colors you use are pretty dull, too dull even. I think you need to work on coloring skin since it looks kind of Grey and lacks a bit of saturation. If your pencils were cleaner like on page 3 they might of helped you out with the coloring, but I hear you ran out of time so no worries. I think this was a good comic from you overall, though. oh and thanks for the cameo!

excellent work guys! :D

Jong, while it's going to take a bit more practice to make everything meld properly, i really, really dug the use of the more extreme angles & interesting layouts. while things weren't always consistent, this was a tremendous showing. real nice! ultimately, not that i'm one to talk but quality over quantity might have been nice. may have added some consistency to the anatomy & color & stuff. but this was a pretty big story & you still managed to pull off. good work.

dure, no real complaints other than not finishing. and while your art may have been stronger, between the two, i gotta opt for jong's. not out of any slight to you though. this was still good. honestly though, the backgrounds at times come off as a little bland. they don't get as much love as the characters & are really basic. you should really try pushing them some more. but otherwise, not bad.

I was glad to see something a bit deeper happening story wise on Void and you both did a nice job of giving the story nice build up and left me curious with where you both are going to go next.

Jong-I really really really hope that some day you will do a battle in the style of page 15 and 4 with monsters all over the place and shit. I do wish that you could have been a bit more consistent with your art, it may have been best to just use washes throughout the whole thing even if it sacrificed some of the awesome panels like on 15. This was honestly the first battle I have read from you that I thoroughly enjoyed. This comic read a lot easier and made a lot more sense to me, you also didn't let it get clouded with pretentious stuff I don't understand. So for me this was a big step up for you, the inconsistencies didn't prevent me from thoroughly enjoying the story.

Dure-I do agree that this would have been a lot better in black and white. I really feel that you are more of a black and white artist, because while you can do good coloring, I feel that you let your quality suffer for the sake of getting colors in. If you just go all out on your lines, you can do some pretty awesome things, I've seen what you can do dude. That's not to say that you are a bad colorist by any means because you aren't at all, I just think that your pure BW stuff is significantly stronger. (of course that doesn't mean don't keep practicing your colors)

I really enjoyed this you guys, thank you for motivating me to work harder.

Excellent comics on both fronts -

Jong - That was epic, and actually a little intimidating - but I went back and read it over again. I compared your art here to the last comic of yours I read, and I was really impressed. Your shadows and use of heavy black, inky washes and the like worked really effectively here. I would have liked to have seen more consistent color throughout, but that would be something to keep in mind next time.

Anya - Coloring is huge to me, and your tones were very nicely rendered. Your coloring style doesn't clash with your lineart, so I really liked that. Very engaging story as well, so good work overall.

Jong, that was totally hot dude. You pumped out 20+ pages of pure awesomeness, the story was great, the art was great... one of the best battles I've seen in a while now... certainly the best from you personally. Your eyes are a little wonky in some places, but I can overlook that because you put together a well thought-out sexy comic. I'm really super impressed.

Dure, pretty much everything you do in sexy haha. You make things look so easy I'm totally envious. But, you didn't finish and I just enjoyed Jong's side more! So for me, it completely goes to Jong... even though he is a bastard that continually tries to destroy/eat my soul ; ;

Guys I have a question: Is this supposed to be jong's side 1 and dure's side 2? Like a 2 parts battle? Cuz when I read dure's i felt like it but wasn't 100% sure, so I'm asking...

If so, great team work! If not, well, it could have been XD~

Jong: you really suprised me with this one, both story wise and art wise! But first, the story. holy shit. Once i started, i couldn't stop, and when i DID stop, I ran to go tell my sister to read it too hahah The dialouge was really smooth and believable. Jong's personality is what gave this comic a kick and you presented it well. You're making him easier to love ( or love to hate ) and that's something that's gonna keep people reading. Your pacing was pefect for me; not too slow, not too fast and it was easy to follow. I didn't have to go back and recall on anything that happened before. And for real, page 16 made me JUMP ( not literally, but you know what i mean. I felt it inside :3 ). That was perfect timing and got my full attension. High marks for entertainment! As for the art, I'm really liking where you're going with it. There were some pages that i stared at for a while, but other panels seem to be lacking in comparison. It wasn't consistent, but maybe that's 'cause you were trying to finish on time. But try and keep the same quality all the way through. That way it'll look more like one piece instead of being choppy, you know? One thing that caught my attention was your lighting. GOD you used it so well and it stood out. I hope you keep using these watercolors, the way you do them is almost like your signature. very nice babe <3 you had better go on with the story!

Dure: Very nice too! Although I find myself sometimes shying away from a lot of dialouge, I was able to read this without any problem. No struggle whatsoever. Though, at times it sort of ran flat. The way they spoke didn't sound very natural ( though maybe it's just me). But it didn't really stop me from enjoying this. That twist at the end caught me by suprise! I didn't excpect Anya to do that and for her to identify with the monster. Now it makes us see her in a different way. The way you're leading it into a deep plot for Anya is really great and the transition so far is going along smoothly. There's no rush or pieces missing; you've got everything there. Art wise, I wish you could have finished ; ; I know you didn't have time and I know what kind of works you're capable of. It's sad that we didn't get to see. But all's well. What you had was pretty nice all on it's own. The colors you use run well together. That yellow-ish glow you gave some of the panels worked very nicely in showing the time of day. It's a small touch, but really sets the mood. I love that thick, painty look you always use and I don't think I'll ever get tired of how you do it. But again, I think you should try changing up your face shapes. Everyone in this comic had the same face, but maybe with different eyes. I would really like to see you do something different. Fat, long, skinny, baby-faced, anything. Don't get me wrong, I do love how you shape your faces, but too much of one thing isn't good, you know? But overall, this was worth the wait, and knowing you, i know you have something epic up your sleeve for next time! bravo bravo bravo <3

Jongggggg good job, I've never seen a thumbnail page this thick and it makes me cry everytime I see one. You got ink control and brushes hands down and your speed is something to fear. Of course with such a rushed process your images are prone to technical mistakes.
This is not a big problem. About 80 percent of the images get the job done of conveying the story and a good 10percent of those are above and beyond worth looking at. However your margin of errors bugged me to a point and the story flow got clogged in some places when I'm trying to figure out who is talking and what was going on
Overall this was pretty impressive you got a good handle on your characters and even though I just walked in on the lost dozen story arc, I found myself a tick more interested to it. Good job for a 2 week venture this is probably one of your best ones.

Dure, your arts awesome as always but I cant help that a lot of things are looking inconsistent here. Though Jong's had errors, it was consistently inconsistent. Sometime I find myself looking at your awesome face people and then I see standard background lines and I wish it was just as substantial as figures. I would suggest doing reference studies so you can get a feel for city scape compositions as that is the thing you are behind on currently. As for your story it flowed a tad better. There was an emotive track to the story as well as some interesting points that you snuck in there.

Jong gets the vote since the comic felt more wholly complete.

Jong: Your story is pretty long, and I had trouble to get through it at the begining, but at the second try I made it and I have to say that it was better the longer I read - not too much action thought. On page 13 I think that it'be better if one of the girls would sit in the same direction as Jong, probably Anya since she brought the guy, but I don't know in which of those four panels since I'm not good with it.

Duredhel: It sucks that you didn't finished, but I don't blame you cause "lazyness" is every one of us - we just need to realese it (since you admited that you could've finish it). It's nice to see Anya in her new image - very good character development :)

Fuck you Jong

This was amazing writing of your part, and the art is growing jumps and leaps. I really like the watercoloring you pull, even with blacks. I feel like I'm reading a sincity but with watercolors. Great, great stuff. I don't think I've found problems in your side, except for some misaligned eyes, but im sure you'll eventually solve this.
Jong is more than ever a bastard face in this comic, keep on the energy!!!

Dure: I don't know how far went the scripting together on this battle, but I noticed that you didn't explain how did Jong get anya's and friends trust, by showing he just calling them with the cell and etc, perhaps that was skipped?
The art looks good, but for some reason I loved the B&W areas rather than the color ones, and also, maybe you should have kept the presentation more singular, instead of having 3 types of visuals.

I'm with Jong on this one. Amazing piece man, and incredible quality 22 pages.

Since neither of them can get extensions, they cancelled the original and reset it so that it was what time they had left along with an extra week. A clever ploy!
