Thank you fence and Squid. I just hope the next comic can turn out better than this one did. I really wish I had the motivation to finish this better instead of just crapping out like that.

Dawg: As I said to you in AIM, congrats on the win. The only thing that kinda bothered me about the comic was that Jingles and my character kinda looked very alike. It was mainly the hair though. Sorry for crapping out on ya like I said, maybe we could have a round 3 sometime and I\'ll give ya something better.

Dan: I know you had some troubles, and losing the pages is kind of a kick in the pants. Just be sure to show me and Dawg what you make ASAP even if it\'s just sketches.

Thanks for the comments/crits, guys.  I noticed it jumped around quickly and got a little confusing a little while after I finished, and thought about adding some more pages to help out, but decided I worked enough on it and decided to upload what I had done.  I do plan to do a BB eventually that will help clarify things, though.

@squid: I\'m not too sure exactly what you mean about the colors.  The light shading I do?  I\'ve been thinking about toying around with lighter background colors/lines or adding multiplied blacks/screened whites over colors.. maybe even both.  Do you think that would help?

Imma gonna redo mine and submit as a Beyond Battle in the near future. The original was delayed with family issues... then actually physically destroyed when my dad played plumber and flooded 2 levels of their house, where it was waiting to be scanned on their far-superior-to-mine scanner.

Phil, yours was pretty funny; I like the \"I\'ll shoot him in the head\" line and Jingles\' double spit-take( although I think the latter could have been more exagerrated for effect--Like, maybe throw in a dynamic angle when he spits on the two dudes. Then it would really enhance the rythm, like, \"drink. SPIT! drink. SPIT!\" haha know what I mean XD?).
There were just some places where I wasn\'t clear on what was happening, like the part where Jingles comes through the big portrait(?) and shoots at Phil... maybe a wide-shot could have helped there? I think there were too many close-ups; those panels in particular felt kind of claustrophobic.
You also lost me in the page where Dan flies in and grabs Phil\'s rope(??). I think that sequence could have used a few more panels.
I\'m not really familiar with Phil\'s story, but I was still able to follow the comic without getting confused or anything. so yeah. good job XD

dawg: I\'m wondering if you need more value contrast in your colors? I think that could help with clarity; there were a few panels where I couldn\'t easily distinguish what was happening, and that seems to be a common problem in your comics, especially where the drawings are all tiny and stuff and there\'s a lot of detail.

It\'s just like what Dawg said, we canceled this battle when Dan dropped out. We waited for a month or two for him to come back, and we just started it up again.

Lune: Nope, I have no money for life studies, all I\'ve got is magazines and andrew loomis that\'s been printed out but it\'s really hard to understand all of it. And thanks, that\'s the second time somebody refered to him being like a Kamen rider recently.

Like Pong said, that\'s Dan.  This was originally a 3 way match, but Dan had to drop out, so we just put up our comics as a normal battle.

Phil: Good work, your anatomy is still needing A LOT of work. Your body parts either are too long, too short and if connected together, they don\'t line up. Do you take figure drawing lessons? Storywise, it ended up dragging at the end and I eventually lost interest. Especially the last page. It was a dud. Okay job though. Also, I think Phil will be an AWESOME power ranger with that outfit he\'s sporting.

Dawg: AWESOME job. Always full of comedy and expression.  The action was slightly confusing, but nothing a quick look back won\'t fix.

My vote goes to Dawg.

Phil. nice art! I would just keep working on anatomy and perspective. I had to read it a couple times to understand it. I didn\'t know who the gut in the helmet was the first time.

Both, um I really had very little idea what was going on. I don\'t really know any of these characters, but I feel like an effort should be made to help newcomers to understand.  Who is the flying guy? why is he even in here?

BUT, and there\'s always a BUT, I couldn\'t recognize Phills character at all. I think they didn\'t look really alike. Plotwise and fun wise it was great, I liked how Dan was involved here.

Phill, it\'s a shame that your last page wasn\'t as good as the rest, and I agree that it ended kinda quickly. But, I totally understand how someone could a run out of steam on a comic. The quality besides that last page was really nice too! I think you handled the tones pretty well, although it seemed a little flat a times. I just thought that some of your dialouge was a little cheezy, but it\'s ok because I liked the story overall.

Dawg, I laughed so hard when Dan cut his hair, that was brilliant!! there were a couple parts that I had to re-read because i was a little confused at some of the action scenes, but I think everything was awesome overall.

I gave pretty even votes since I enjoyed both, thanks for an awesome read, both of you!

Phill- Your comic wrapped up a little too fast for me.  Everything--good and bad--was consistent up until that point, where everything simply seemed to end \"just \'cause.\"  Your art\'s improved since the last time I saw it, and I didn\'t see any glaring problems with it, but the new use of greys feels kind of washed-out on each page and doesn\'t lend anything to each panel beyond giving shade and tone to areas that could be more dynamically handled with crosshatching.  You have strong use of line weight, though, so despite an inconsistent and sometimes incomprehensible story, good job.  Also, next time please use a spell-check, since the spelling errors tend to get pretty distracting while reading.

Dawg- Art\'s never the issue with your work.  You have a wild and fun style that works perfectly with what\'s going on in the comic, not taking anything too seriously.  While I did laugh a number of times during the comic, events felt a little too thrown-together, with no smooth transition from one scene to another.  It simply became \"and over here, this happened and POW this is happening elsewhere and LOOK they\'re interconnected in this way.\"

I give slightly higher marks to Dawg, for better writing, more finished-looking art, and an overall more enjoyable experience.

I loved dawgs version of dan more than anything I\'ve seen in a while.

YOU MANIACS! YOU BLEW IT UP! Dan you... DAN you all to HELL!

Dawg finished back when this battle should of ended, I had only a few pages left. When Dan had his drama I stopped working on, and Dawg held onto his finished comic in hopes of Dan coming back to say \"Start up the deadline because I\'m ready.\"

Sorry but I didn\'t work on this comic while the deadline was down, my mind was not on void and instead on comics that could get published. Now that I\'m back on the clock though I hope you can all look forward to what I\'ve got along with Dawg\'s entry which looks to be his best so far.

I finished an eternity ago.
