Hot damn, sweet battle! Whoo!

Kotori Ky: I am loving your pencil work here. It\'s really a step-up for you. I\'m feeling a little iffy about your contrast/tonal values. You\'ve got the great expanses of white for backgrounds and when you do have them they end up being the exact same grey shade. I think this makes your blacks pop out just a bit too much on the page. The border of the last panel was about the same width as the lines that composed the panel it lays atop of. It took me a few moments to understand what was going on, to make the panel pop out more, I think a thicker border is in order or at least more contrast. I\'m sure you\'re aware of the painfully obvious line that was made when you patched the pages together. So that aside, great job!

Duredhel: Oh man I\'ve been waiting for this moment, an Anya summoning! This was said before but I\'ll say it again, your pencils are sexy, but the pixels really brings its awesome down a few notches. However your detail is fabulous. I agree with everyone that the types sound effects do seem a bit out of place. Writing them by hand would be a good alternative. It was a little unclear what exactly was going down in the second panel of the 8th page. I definitely think some of your blacks could be blacker. Love the action, the dialogue, Akantha and the ending. I see great things on the horizon!

That was awesome!Osiris would have so soaked the TV in whatever he was drinking when he saw that epic shot. XD

Koko: I really like the pencils. And I almost feel bad for Frank. You already know that and all the good little nuggets of plot this battle gave me! Especially with the old guy...and Osiris wanting to get his claws on Frank\'s snakey form. There\'s only 2 things I want to point out. The first is just one panel, on page 5, the first panel. The sudden rich black seems out of place, and makes Anya seem really flat in front of it. The other thing is just that I would have liked to see a little more definition in their hair--some strokes for highlights and stuff. But that\'s harder when you gotta make it look black in pencil.

Anya: Wow. Akantha kills me. He alone makes me wanna fight you once I get Dane in! It would be hilarious! Oh, right. Current battle. Backgrounds are love in this. As are things like cell phones--damn you people that can do things with straight edges! The only thing that bugged me is the overall scan quality. It looks....grainy to the point of distortion. Maybe scanner settings are to blame? Mine does the same thing.

Kotori-There\'s a definite improvement here! I do however think you could have messed with the levels a bit more in Photoshop to clean things up, while it\'s not too bad in most of the battle there are a few pages where  I think you\'d cut the page so the page is two different tones which looks kind of odd. Be careful with the size of your text in the word bubbles, you want the text to look like it belongs in there, not that it\'s overcrowding the word bubble. I think your backgrounds are improving but I still want to see more of them and more work on them.  The last page could have done with some crosshatching or something behind Anya to make the page appear not so blank. Other than that you\'re improving with each battle dude, just keep it up!

Dure-Your pencils are lovely but like someone else mentioned, the files must have been low on quality or something so some lines got pixelated which downs the quality of the pages. Be careful with your word bubble placement, you have them going all over the place which makes some pages seem very crowded. I think you also could have bumped the levels up a bit in photoshop to make the whiteness of the paper really show through and perhaps darken the lines a little. Be careful with the sound effects, you\'re falling back into them being too distracting. I think you could benefit from actually hand writing your sound effects to make them look like they\'re part of the page like they do in manga.

Both entries were pretty solid, I really enjoyed both sides

@Koko: this is your best battle so far! I really like the direction you\'re taking, you\'ve improved so much! =D
I know I have no morals to say this, but I\'d have liked more backgrounds in some panels.

@Dure: too bad your pages got all pixelated >_o; Your penciling is gorgeous as usual =3 see? it looks great the way it is, without coloring or any other thing on top!
The only complaints I have are the text balloons and the font you use. They look too out of place on top of your lovely pencils! Like they were slapped on top carelessly... The black balloons on where Akantha talks don\'t look that bad, thou.

Whee :3 awesome battle Koko, I think this will be the beggining of a long, beautiful hatred between Akantha and Frank. Boy I have to let Anya have at least some lines in my next battles D: Well the next couple of battles will me mostly about her :3. Anyhow, I love how well you portrayed Akantha and I think the transition between both halves worked very well. I know you lost over a week of time because you had family over, but still, the quality of the battle is great specially in the first few pages. Thank you so much for the battle :3, I loved it.

Dunno why my pages look so pixelated though D: I ULed the exact same pages to photobucket and they looked fine, I even showed some page wips to some people and they never looked pixelated. Mebbe it was the ULer acting up.. dunno.

KOKO, I\'m extremely pleased to see how well you did on your half. I was worried you might now be able to put as much time/effort into it because of your hosting duties and what not, but I was blown away with what you brought to the table. This, by far, was your best battle. There was so much detail and the lines were just so fracking clean! I also like how you integrated Dure\'s txt bubble scheme to allow for better flow among the two halfs, somethign I find difficult to do in battles *envyenvy*

DIEGO, god, your lines make me wanna cry. It\'s especially an insult when i know how freakin\' fast you did your pages. I love all the detail you put in, and the dynamics between characters was great. Again, I lol\'d cuz of Aka, he\'s just pure dialogue love. I\'m a little sad to see that your pages got a little grainy up here on Void, especially when i\'ve seen their true beauty.

All in all you guys did a fucking phenom job. Kudos to both of you!

Guys! This was a VERY fun battle to read <3 both parts were real cool, and I liked how everything just flowed together.
Koko, I liked your shading, and use of light source. I also liked how you drew Akantha XD and how well you got each character\'s personalities!
Dure, muñeco, I fell in love with the way you drew Vasuki. I can\'t draw snakes to save my life.
I don\'t really have much to say as I loved this battle and am just enjoying it. ^^; <3

Well, it\'s up. I lost a week\'s worth of work and had to scramble to catch up to my schedule. I\'m sorry I didn\'t get it all shaded, Dure. I wish I could have done more for you, but I finished it out and uploaded it anyway.
