Hard luck there Airsong, but there\'s always another battle to fought!

Air - nice comic, I\'m thoroughly impressed. Very well done, although I have some minor beef. I\'m all for giving kids the big doe eyes and all, but there\'s definitely a healthy moderation that should be observed. Eliza looks like a flat out alien in some places, especially page 4. I think increasing the level of realism would help you out in finding the right balance between style and technical exactness.

Mause - a few posing/anatomical difficulties in this one, especially with the extras in page 1. Foreshortening is also something to work on, but it\'s difficult in general.  Biggest thing: no pre-rendered backgrounds! They\'re nothing but a crutch and stumbling block that will inhibit your development as an artist! And it\'s not like you can\'t draw backgrounds, so why use photos? Anyhow, it was still a pretty decent read, and I\'m looking forward for your next battles.

I\'d also like to give a big thanks to everyone for their encouraging and honest C & C.
I\'ll be sure that my next round won\'t be so akward, and focus harder on putting meat on the bones of story telling.

i\'m not a great fan of th anime style. I LOVE animation, comic, manga, but it\'s alway about the story and the quality and notr about the style. what I mean to say is, I won\'t find something better just because it\'s anime. in fact you guys started with a step behind because of it. sorry

that being said:

Airsong, nice work, good quality of the art overhall. even if there was a few itch from time to time. nice improvement, goog use of toning. funny story

Bittermause: you had the best story. you might want to start giving a bit more depth to your background, play with the angles a bit.

AirSong - you win in Quality and Entertainment. I thought your story was cute, and the flow was better than Mause\'s. However, I felt it wasn\'t as creative although you both did have very similar stories. I just enjoyed Mause\'s a bit more. You seemed to have put a lot of effort in shading everything, though.

Bittermause - It didn\'t look like you put as much effort into the art as AirSong. The flow of your story was also very weak; there were parts that were very wordy and others that just confused me a whole lot. Battles that use arrows to point the direction of the panel flow really annoy me, and I think if you planned the layout a little better you wouldn\'t have had to use that. Because of this I started rushing through the pages at the end. However, I thought your story was more creative than AirSong\'s. I think you have a lot of potential, and I look forward to seeing more battles from you.

Overall, very close but AirSong\'s art and better storytelling gets the higher vote.

airsong: man, the first panel on the first REAL comic page was so awesome...  D:  i loved that crazy ass background. and i thought \"oohhh, i\'m gunna love this fight\", and then...right after that, on the next panel, it fell apart  :[  and the rest of the comic was like that....arhhgg...if you had kept the art as interesting as the first panel, that woulda been swell, coz your story was really lame. sorry, there just wasn\'t anything in it that interested me. but hey, it\'s your first fight so......hopefully you\'ll dish out a bit more next round, ne?  ;3

bittermause: i gotta say your story wasn\'t all that great either, but it was a little more fleshed out that airsong\'s. hmmm....don\'t really know what else to say. this was your first fight, and most first fighters are usually like this...  ^^;  well, can\'t wait to your next battle anyway.

my points went to bittermause, for slightly less boring story and slightly better art quality.

I have to say, I love your comic layouts, Bittermause... Like on page 4 when Kaz\'s sword is swining and creating a panel... awesomeness! I also really like your style, you use an even about of black and white that\'s pleasing :3 You\'re stuff looks pretty.. professional, I guess XD Your backgrounds are okay... but I dunno, I guess I\'d like to see some more detail in them? Or something? Anyway.. I just can like, imagine these in colour XD It\'d be like 10x as good! Damn time constraints.

Air, your comic was so cute x3 I love that cute story and your backgrounds are cool and tripping o_o woah curvy buildings. I like how noble Kaz acts (\"we can work together!\") and then he takes all the money.. muhaha.

all an all really good intro for both fighters. I felt some pages had waaaaay too many frames and kinda diminished the action and emotion in key parts for both sets. Other than that great characters, good interaction, and funny endings.

Airsong wins in creativity, your story was a little better thought out I think. However in quality of art and in pure enjoyment of the comic I have to go with Bitter. The part with the \'creatior of all things\' had me laughing, especially with the goofy faces you made.

A very good debut for you both.

Airsong-I voted for you for quality, your art was very slick, you might have benefitted from doing some more dramatic angles and more interesting shots though. Entertainment wise the fight felt like it was cut a little short, it could have used a little more personality maybe.

Keppo-Enterainment and Creativity wise you won me over, your stuff just had a lot more character and the humor was well done. Art wise it looked good but got rough in a few areas, the one that stuck out to me was the last page the linework looks pretty rough. But other than that very nice for a first fight dude

Bittermause, my vote is going for you. It\'s got a well balanced story and it ends in a nice way. Or at least, I think it does. ^_^ and Airsong, I liked your comic as well, but I\'m affraid Mause\'s is better to me.
