Kura_X:I loved you battle it sucked me in and i almost cried....:_: your story showed more of a connection and more feeling into the death. you had a beautiful story plain and simple. :_:

overall, i liked both... the quality was about the same (i think i should have given a bit higher on that one for both of you... oh well, too late now.) and you both had some pretty neat ideas... but i had to give this one to kura in the entertainment slot. she simply told her story better.

i would say all the reasoning and stuff, but that\'s been covered by everyone else already.

great work you two... once i get my character up, i\'m looking forward to battling the both of you at some point.

Sixtem: I understand what you were trying to go for, but it really, really failed.  It had almost a comical-like effect.  Other than that, it was pretty decent.  I want to smack you, though.  You could have done sooo much more...

Kura: It wasn\'t a very original story, but the way you delivered it, made that ok.  I\'m not sure how he died, though.

Sixtem - While you took a somewhat surprising turn on the kill, I wasn\'t quite feeling the romantic dilemma in your comic as well as I could in Kura\'s comic. The emotional value in the end felt kind of weak, and like was mentioned earlier, there wasn\'t much of an attachment to either character in your fight.

Kura - I can\'t say much from what anyone else said or more than I\'ve mentioned IRL, but the tension and drama in this were overwhelming (3-hour-sleep-zombieness aside). In my opinion, your ending had much stronger closure than Ivan\'s did, and sometimes how you seal the deal can make or break a comic. Suffice to say, you wrapped this up neatly and gracefully, no complains on the story.

Sixtem, That was good, short but sweet.
I like seeing the progress you\'ve been making since your time here on void.

Kura, if I hadn\'t felt like I had seen this a thousand times before, if it wasn\'t overly generic, it might have been enjoyable.

I gave my votes to Sixtem, because his story hit me in the gut a lot harder than Kura\'s did. I would have appreciated seeing Satin actually get hit by the car, but that\'s probably because I\'m a twisted fuck. Great writing, and spectacular characterization with Ivan! I\'m gonna be really sad to see him go (if he goes) now that I\'ve seen what you can do with this character.

Kura, I liked your battle, too, but I was disappointed when it turned out almost like a regular fight, where the combatants just attack each other. I figured out why you were doing that when they started talking about Chip, but that didn\'t catch my fancy as much as Sixtem\'s side of the fight did. Also, an exposition death? PLEASE. I know you\'re capable of much better than that.

Kura... yours came of quite a bit cliche... but it was still full of emotion, so it wasn\'t dull.

I voted higher for Sixtem though, because for some reason, I found that his was more sudden and surprising, not cliche. It really showed a very human and gentle Ivan, and I enjoyed that greatly

Kura you have blown me away. Such dramatic and romantic an ending. I wouldn\'t have added so many beginning pages though.

Sixtem great lines...but the way Kura killed ya has got me like frozen in awe. No offense to you or Ivan...but Satin has got this one today. Then again she lost to a glorified pokemon recently.

Kura-I liked the variety of shots you had, you also did a very good job making the action flow nicely and clearly. Like someone else mentioned, you could have messed with the levels in Photoshop or maybe started a new layer and traced over the black to make them darker. (the easier way is levels, just open up images/adjustments/levels and move the little arrows around)

sixtem-I was surprised with the ending, I like how you took a different approach. I do think you could have made it a little longer to give us more of an emotional attachment to Satin.

I don\'t blame people for finding errors in my dialouge.  I wrote that when i was a 3 hour sleep-zombie.  I pretty much agree with ya man.  My skill with Photoshop pretty much ends with being able to open up the appplication.


all in all.  I drew a kiss scene.  I\'m happy for that.

I have no idea what I can say that isn\'t just repeating the people who have critted both these fights before.

The only thing I can thnk of to say is: my points go to Kura, by about a 10 to 7 ratio. Sorry Sixtem, but character preference aside I think Kura has you beat.

Kura, you should have played with the levels in photoshop or something to help your art out, because as it is it looks kind of natty.  However, scanning issues aside you pulled off some pretty decent art for this one.
  I would say that clearly the entertainment vote goes to you, except that really it wasn\'t that entertaining.  A lot of your comic doesn\'t seem to have anything to do with the fight, and the ending was just kind of bleh.

Sixtem, this is a notch up over your previous fight artwise.  The death of satin, while happening in an unexpected manner, is really not that interesting because it is simply implied instead of shown.  I\'ve already told you everything else I have to say about this battle elsewhere.

Kura: Very well done. At first I was a little upset that you continued the spoof, but turning it into a tv show was a good idea.(I was scared you were going to do the entire battle as it.) The ending was nice and good an angsty as it should have been and you\'re quality wasn\'t lacking at all. My only complaint through the entire thing was the page with cog in it is HUGE and really is a pain to read.

But I figured that wasn\'t on purpose. High rates across the board buddy, good story telling.

Sixtem: :/ You\'re art is top notch, the quality shows a lot of effort just like you said. I really liked the idea of Satin getting ran over by a truck. It showed a good plot device, a fighter dying in a rather conventional way. But like I said earily to you, you\'re climax was really anti-climatic.

I thought both endings were great though, I admit, I enjoyed Sixtem\'s more for the fact that Ivan wasn\'t the one who actually killed her. With all the supernatural things that happen daily in Void city, her simply getting hit by a car was awesome (which sounds really twisted; I apologize).

Kura\'s, I liked yours. The writing was great and I love the way you killed Ivan (which is probably going to be how he goes out).

The more I had mine finished the more I hated the writing, I\'m proud of the art... just... the writing. Ugh. I handled it in the worst way possible.

I know my errors with the writing/story in general, so please god refrain from just telling me it sucks as I sure as hell know that.

And here I was expecting this death match to be good...
