To Charles, the English language is a sacred entity, a divine gift - but one that is constantly being defiled by those who use it. There is nothing that riles Charles more than the misuse of the English language, and it was in this that he found a new direction.
Charles has appointed himself as Protector of the Tongue – a warrior fighting to protect the English language – in a rather down to earth way. Equipped with a walking stick that can also be used as a brutal bladed mace, a leather bound 1953 edition of the Oxford dictionary and years of experience in dealing with those of “lesser intelligenceâ€, Charles will quite happily kill those he hears or sees defiling his beloved language.
Charles is not a great brawler. Lacking in both skill and style, he will use his walking stick mace to beat his opponents to a pulp, or use his heavy dictionaries as a thrown weapon. Instead of resorting to physical violence, Charles will often try to outwit his opponent, forcing them to destroy themselves, or force them into a tight spot from which there is no escape. Either way, Charles prefers to make sure that his enemies do not stay alive for long, lest they damage the English language further.
