Not much is known about the entity known as "The LowMan." There have been reported sightings of this being dating back at least 2 decades, however most still regard The LowMan as little more than a campfire ghost story. They say that there was a man once, who grew increasingly cynical and hateful towards all that surrounded him, and so he went off into the woods to escape the ever-growing diversity and the increasing technological evolution of Void City. He was never seen again, however some claim to have had sightings of a ghostly figure that resembles that man. There is an entire VCPD case file dedicated to unsolved deaths that some attribute to this phantom, however no evidence has ever come to light. The deceased, in many of these cases, are found either with, or near electronic devices of some sort, though many believe this may just be coincidence, as you would be hard pressed to NOT be around any such devices if you are in Void City. Given the diverse population of cultures in Void City, imaginations tend to run more wild here than anywhere else, so these stories COULD be accurate.... or there is a possibility that they could be entirely false.
One other thing... these bodies, when discovered, have often been found.... mutilated, sometimes beyond traditional recognition, with no weapons or causes found anywhere at the scene. Some of these bodies have even shown evidence of what appears to be bite marks..... however they are not human, nor are they identified as any other species currently known to Void City anthropologists or record keepers.
Still, most people still believe the LowMan itself to be a story made up by imaginative children. Those who DO believe the stories though.... they say that once the LowMan comes for you.... there is no hiding, no escaping. Those who do believe..... they pray that they are wrong, and that he IS just a story..... and that they never see him for themselves.... for if they do... it is already too late.
Deaths seem to be occurring with more frequency as of late.... What could this mean for the population of Void City?
