Rayne Miller used to be a pretty well adjusted young lady. She had above average grades and did a fair amount of volunteer work in her spare time. She wasn’t a great people person but she figured she got along with almost everyone she knew. She smoked when stressed and drank socially.
Her psychic abilities were discovered when she scrambled the brains of nearly half of her classmates at graduation. Now she’s been placed in a virtual reality machine. It functions as a safe place for her to exist while attempting to control her powers and correct her psychological issues. It also absorbs her psychic energy and stores it.
At this point in time Rayne has little to no control of her powers. Any time she feels stress, her powers are activated and affect anyone near her.
LOW POWER: Rayne can hear the surface thoughts of people around her; she can also dig into the memories of people if she concentrates.
Some people will not notice the intrusion. Others will feel like they’re being watched or have an “itchy” brain.
Animals with larger brains appear to be mildly aggravated. The smaller the animal’s brain, the more hysterical it will act.
MEDIUM POWER: Rayne gets headaches if in this state for too long. She can explore people’s minds like a dreamscape.
People within a certain distance tend to feel paranoid and or get headaches.
Animals with larger brains will become hysterical. Birds and other small animals may die.
HIGH POWER: Rayne can absorb people’s memories indefinitely. This can leave her victim with anything ranging from mild amnesia to complete memory loss. This flood of information gives her extreme headaches and causes her to deal with whatever psychological trauma her victims faced.
